Damian’s pov.

"B-Boss... please forgive . I did not an to—"

The man kneeled low, his eyes begging to understand him. Unfortunately for him, I had no patience left to give him.

"Not only did you steal our goods, but you also got the other side involved? And all you have to say is you didn’t an it? Unfortunately, you will have to pay for your mistakes. Take him away and make him pay up the sum we lost at all costs."

I ordered, and the scared man looked at with begging eyes. But I had read the man’s records already.

He had neither family nor any assets. He had nothing else left to give us.

Around , the others took a step back as they continued to be a little scared of . It was pissing off.

No, the thing that was pissing off the most was the fact that I had to leave Jenna alone when she was sick. What if sothing had happened to her?

Just thinking about it was enough to make my mood sour, and in return, that bad mood was being experienced by the people around .

"B-Boss, you should head back now. We can take care of the cleanup now."

The person in charge of this area assured as he stepped forward. But even he faltered as he saw my expression.

Usually, I would have offered to take care of the ss and checked up on more things. But right now, all I wanted to do was head back and talk to Jenna. I needed to make sure she was fine.

’Tsk, it’s all my fault she’s sick. I should have never gotten her involved in this ss. But I can’t have her back out now either... so, I’ll just keep her around a little longer...’

I knew it was my greed talking. Being with Jenna felt like it was my second chance at regaining what I had lost. And I wanted to take advantage of it.

I quickly got into the car, and the driver gave a worried look as well.

"Boss, are you alright?..."

The driver asked , and I imdiately replied.

"I am fine. Why? Do I not look fine to you?"

I asked, and the man opened his mouth to answer before he closed his mouth. He did this a few tis before he lied to .

"No boss. You look completely fine... rather dashing even. I will drive you back ho now."

The driver drove the car, and I could not help but wonder what made him ask that question. Sure, my complexion looked a little paler today, and I was a lot less... even-tempered. But that was all.

Inside, I was still the sa, if not a little sleep-deprived.

Not that any of it mattered. What mattered was getting back ho and checking up on Jenna. I had left her alone with Jason, and God knows what could have happened.

I trusted Jason a lot. He had been my right-hand man for a long ti. But the thought of trusting him with Jenna was... not a pleasant one. It made want to tear him apart and lock Jenna up.

And this feeling was increasing day by day. I was able to control it sohow up until now, but even I did not know how long I would be able to take it.

"Boss, please call if you need anything."

The driver told before he drove away after dropping off. I opened the door to the house and stepped inside. It was quiet, but I could hear the faint sound of laughter.

Jenna’s laughter made feel lighter, but Jason’s laughter made want to separate his head from his body. I quickly headed toward their room, only to see Jason leaning over Jenna in a rather... compromised position.

I imdiately pushed the door open, my eyes seeing red.

"What is going on here?"

My voice and body acted before my mind could catch up with what was happening, and the pair separated with an almost guilty flush on their faces.

When they did separate, I realized that the ’compromised’ position I had seen (with Jason leaning toward Jenna) was just him trying to look at sothing on her phone.

But that did nothing to calm my rage down.

"B-Boss, this is..."

"I think... you should head out now, Jason. I have taken care of the stuff you wanted to, so go and handle the aftermath."

I told my secretary, and he realized that it was not the ti to argue with . He gave Jenna a look (which made my blood boil) before he bowed and took his leave.

I watched him leave with narrowed eyes before I turned toward Jenna, and my anger started to drain out from my body.

My feet took toward her, and before I knew it, I had taken a seat beside her and rested my forehead on her shoulder.

"Did... sothing happen? You look troubled..."

Jenna asked as she started to run her fingers through my hair. I had not asked her to do this... but it felt so nice that I wanted her to keep doing this without ever asking again.

My body leaned more into hers, and I almost let out a whine before I caught myself.

Luckily, it did not seem as if Jenna noticed. Or if she did, she ignored it for my sake. She kept moving her fingers through my hair until I eventually fell asleep.

It was all so soft and warm. The sleep felt like the best one I ever had in my life, and I let out a content sigh at that and shuffled closer to the source of this comfort.

Jenna did not say anything, and before I knew it, I lost consciousness.

When I woke up next, Jenna was still in the bed with , but we had shifted places. My arms were wrapped around her middle, pulling her flush against my body while our feet were tangled together.

Her eyes were closed as she mumbled in her sleep and... pressed her assets against my sensitive parts... that were starting to wake up.

My self-control instantly snapped like an overstretched thread.

’Ugh, this is embarrassing. I need to get away and take care of it...’

I tried to untangle our legs, but it was a little harder than I expected. The more I tried to pull back, the more Jenna pushed back. At this rate, I would have an... accident soon...

If she woke up now, I wouldn’t survive the humiliation.
