Chapter 1713: Chapter 1713: Panic in the Heart

After Chu Liyuan got up, he found that Jian Dan hadn’t risen yet, so he got up to buy breakfast.

After Chu Liyuan left the ward, Jian Dan opened her eyes again, got up, and looked at the closed door, her lips twitching slightly.

She kept reminding herself in her heart that she couldn’t doubt him, her uncle loved her so much, it was absolutely impossible.

She got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash her face, splashing cold water on her eyes to make them look less swollen.

Then she returned to bed, but discovered that uncle’s phone was lying there, he must have left in a hurry and forgotten it.

Just as Jian Dan picked up the phone to place it on the table, it suddenly vibrated, the screen facing up, revealing a ssage from Selina Yu.

The first three words pierced into Jian Dan’s heart like a thorn: Darling…

Holding the phone, a voice in Jian Dan’s heart kept urging her, open it, open it, open it.

She struggled for a long ti but ultimately did not open it, gently placing the phone back on the bedside table.

Jian Dan returned to bed, pulled the quilt over herself, using all her strength to hold back her tears.

She heard Chu Liyuan returning, hurriedly closing her eyes.

“Jian Jian, wake up for breakfast, I bought what you like to eat.” Chu Liyuan gently called Jian Dan to wake her.

“Uncle, did you go to get breakfast for so early?” Jian Dan rubbed her eyes, pretending as if she had just been awakened.

“Why are your eyes swollen?” Chu Liyuan imdiately noticed Jian Dan’s swollen eyes.

“Really?” Jian Dan casually picked up a phone nearby, turned on the cara and looked, “It looks a bit swollen, huh! Probably didn’t sleep well last night!” A carefree smile hung on Jian Dan’s face.

But no one could tell that her heart was bleeding at that mont.

After waking Jian Dan, Chu Liyuan casually picked up the phone on the table, glanced at it, his brows furrowing but soon returning to normal.

But he didn’t know that Jian Dan had seen his expression.

During breakfast, Chu Liyuan seed distracted.

“Uncle, is sothing wrong at the company? If there is, you should go handle it! Besides, I’m fine now!”

“No problem, after breakfast I can drop you back at Li Garden, then head to the company, there’s still ti.”

“Really, I’m fine, look, I’ve recovered, and there wasn’t much to begin with, just a little cold, you should go! Finish your work quickly, otherwise, always working overti ans I won’t see you! Go on!” Jian Dan got up, pulling Chu Liyuan to his feet, gently pushing him on the back.

“Okay, okay, alright! Call anyti if you need anything, Jian Jian!”

“Hmm! Don’t worry!” Jian Dan gave Chu Liyuan a smile before closing the door.

As soon as the door shut, Jian Dan leaned against it, tears streaming down her face.

She urged Chu Liyuan to leave quickly because she could barely hold on; if he stayed a mont longer, she might really break down in front of him.

Jian Dan sat inside the main door, hugging her knees, burying her head between them, her body shaking uncontrollably with sobs.

She didn’t know how long had passed when she felt soone push the door from the outside.

She quickly wiped her tears, stood up, straightened her clothes, and opened the door, “Rou? Why are you back?”

“My uncle called to pick you up and take you out of the hospital! Jian, have you been crying?” Qin Rou noticed sothing was wrong with Jian Dan as soon as she entered.

“No! Why would I cry! I just didn’t sleep well last night!”

“Don’t lie to , your eyes are so red and swollen, how could it just be not sleeping well?” Qin Rou easily saw through Jian Dan’s disguise.

Looking up at Qin Rou, Jian Dan’s eyes filled with tears.

“Jian, what’s going on! Didn’t everything get cleared up yesterday? Why…” Qin Rou suddenly panicked.

She had known Jian Dan for so long and had rarely seen her cry, especially in recent years, almost never seeing her tears.
