Chapter 1508: Chapter 1508: Can You Talk About Credit?
Lan Tong’s plan didn’t require perfectly precise timing; it only needed flawless coordination.
And if there was one thing the Special Team didn’t lack, it was coordination.
The plane had steadily approached the building. Those people believed it was the aircraft arranged for them and didn’t suspect a thing. Just as they were about to bring Ouyang and Xingxing over, a deafening explosion suddenly erupted, and the base of the stone pillar where Ouyang and Xingxing were collapsed in an instant.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Jian Dan and the others leapt down from the plane. Gunfire erupted in all directions. Caught off guard, the enemies suffered heavy casualties within monts. With no cover in the area, it didn’t take long for their numbers to dwindle to almost none.
“You tricked ?” The man was now roaring with fury.
“Heh, the word ‘trick’ sounds ridiculously ironic coming out of your mouth.
If we had truly arranged a plane to let you go, would you have kept your word?”
Of course he wouldn’t. His descent into the person he was now was entirely because of Ouyang. How could he possibly spare him?
If it weren’t that the evidence still in Ouyang’s hands hadn’t been found, Ouyang would already be a dead man.
The phrase “the tide has turned” was the perfect description for the man’s situation at that mont.
The man suddenly grabbed the person who had just stopped him from killing, using that person as a shield as he charged toward Jian Dan and the others.
The sound of gunfire broke out again. The man shielding him was imdiately riddled with bullets like a sieve, with so rounds even penetrating the shield’s body and hitting the man. Yet still, the man showed no sign of retreating.
Just when everyone thought the man was preparing for a desperate final attack, he suddenly jumped off the edge where Ouyang and the others had fallen earlier…
The people above imdiately followed and jumped down as well, but it was already too late—his bullet had been fired in Ouyang’s direction…
“Ouyang!” Jian Dan scread at the top of her lungs.
Just as the bullet was about to hit Ouyang Jing, Xingxing appeared in front of him, shielding him and taking the bullet herself.
The mont the man fired, Chu Liyuan also pulled the trigger. Because he was closer, before the bullet could fully pass through Xingxing, the man’s head had already been penetrated by Chu Liyuan’s shot.
“Xingxing!” Ouyang caught Xingxing and pressed tightly against her bleeding wound. “Xingxing, it’s going to be okay. You’re going to be fine, you’ll be fine!”
“Jing, don’t be sad. Seeing you in pain hurts so much more than this wound of mine,” Xingxing said, raising her hand to stroke Ouyang Jing’s cheek.
“Xingxing…”
“Jing, I have no regrets. From the mont I decided to co here, I never thought I would make it back alive. Now that I see you’re safe, I’m happy.”
“Xingxing, don’t say that. You’ll be fine, you’ll definitely be fine.” Ouyang Jing could no longer hold back his tears. “If I hadn’t dragged you into this in the first place, this wouldn’t have happened. It’s all my fault.”
“Jing, don’t bla yourself. eting you is the happiest thing that’s ever happened in my life. If I hadn’t t you, I would’ve been living like a walking corpse. You gave a soul again. My life wasn’t wasted because of you.”
“No! No! Xingxing, don’t leave , please don’t leave !”
“Jing, don’t cry. I won’t leave you. I can’t bear to leave you. So, believe —I’ll always be by your side, and our child’s side, protecting you both.”
“No! No!”
“Jing, I love you so, so much!”
Watching Xingxing’s eyes slowly close, Jian Dan couldn’t hold back her tears any longer.
“Xingxing—ahhhhh—”
This was likely the second ti Jian Dan had ever seen Ouyang Jing completely break down.
