Ji Yang hadn’t done anything inappropriate with any of the won recently, or rather, Chen Yonghe’s people weren’t able to truly track him down.

Listening to his n report back on the surveillance, Chen Yonghe felt extrely displeased.
“What a bunch of garbage!”
Chen Yonghe smashed his cellphone.
Looking at the few underlings respectfully standing before him, Chen Yonghe cursed again.
After a tirade of swearing, Chen Yonghe said, “I don’t believe it, a man like him, with those won… he’s got to have so thoughts, right?”
One underling spoke up, “This Ji Yang does have so rumors going about. They say he’s not into won; maybe he really doesn’t have anything to do with those won.”
Chen Yonghe asked with curiosity, “What rumors?”
That underling really put in the effort and shared everything he had heard about Ji Yang, especially various rumors. Apparently, Ji Yang always had won around him, but nothing ever happened between them. So people suspected he had issues ‘downstairs’.
Chen Yonghe burst into hearty laughter, saying, “Who would have thought, a mayor that can’t perform, huh? What’s the point in being a mayor then?”
Another underling said, “We’ve been monitoring him around the clock, and indeed, Ji Yang has never been alone with any of those won. However, we did stumble upon a new situation unintentionally.”
“What situation? Spit it out.”
That underling said, “While we were tailing him, we accidentally ca across sothing to do with the Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, Guo Caihua.”
“What?”
“That Guo Caihua, she’s secretly involved with the Deputy Director of the Public Security Bureau, Xu Maocheng, romantically.”
“What did you say?” Chen Yonghe was shocked too. As the brother of Chen Yonglin, he was well aware of the local leaders; Guo Caihua had the reputation of being virtuous and upright, with no chance of any scandal. However, now his subordinate had brought news of her indiscretion, exciting Chen Yonghe.
“That Xu Maocheng, I know him. She brought him to Ximu City. He was promoted to Deputy Director in the recent cadre adjustnts.”
“Yes, that’s the guy. Xu Maocheng is tall and imposing, also good-looking. We thought he had so sort of ability, but it turned out we unintentionally saw those two sleeping together.”
“That Xu Maocheng is with the Public Security Bureau, you guys managed to discover that?”
“Actually, Xu Maocheng isn’t from a military background; he’s a civil service officer in the bureau, so he had no clue about our surveillance.”
After hearing more for a while, Chen Yonghe learned that indeed, the man was handso, and sohow he got involved with Guo Caihua.
Chen Yonghe was now excited. If this was the case, it would be beneficial for his older brother, and he should report it to him as soon as possible.
“You sure about this?”
“We’ve even found the secret apartnt they use, they sleep there once a week.”
Chen Yonghe then laughed out loud, comnd the underling, “Nicely done, my brother will surely reward you for this.”
After speaking, Chen Yonghe hurriedly left; he needed to report this to his brother imdiately.
Originally, failing to find any leverage over Ji Yang had been an embarrassnt, but this discovery provided sothing to use in his report to his brother.
Indeed, when Chen Yonglin heard the underling speak of Guo Caihua and Xu Maocheng’s affair, he too was wide-eyed. This was unexpected. He had always thought there’d be nothing between them, knowing a bit about Guo Caihua and her family. Her husband wasn’t living with her; he held a position in another location. Moreover, Guo Caihua’s rise in rank was swift, and under Chen Yonglin’s investigation, it seed there was another man behind her.
Now that he learned of her relations with a subordinate, Chen Yonglin saw there was much to exploit in this situation.
“That Xu Maocheng is no simple character!” Chen Yonglin told his brother.
“He’s nothing special, supposedly just a civil servant, not from a police academy, nor a discharged soldier.”
Shaking his head, Chen Yonglin said, “Don’t underestimate him; I have a feeling he’s not a simple fellow.”
Chen Yonghe casual replied, “Just a pretty boy. What can he possibly do? Don’t worry, I’ll have my n dig up their dirt.”
“Be careful with everything.”
“I know, don’t fret, nothing’s going to happen.”
At this mont, Chen Yonglin beca excited. Everyone had been gathering supporters, and he felt left behind, or perhaps overlooked. To advance in this complicated ga, he needed to topple those ahead of him. Guo Caihua could be an asset, and with her help, he hoped to take down Zuo Lin or Zhang Chaoping.
After a few etings, Chen Yonglin still hadn’t figured out how to deal with Ji Yang. Seeing Zuo Lin and Zhang Chaoping’s strength, he thought about dealing with those two first.
Now his underlings had brought him good news, a truly favorable developnt for him.
Chen Yonglin loved scheming behind the scenes. With this intel, he knew his opportunity had arrived.
