"You want to play cards for you?" Anna pointed at herself.

"Yes." Conrad nodded, "If you win, it’s yours; if you lose, it’s on !"

As Anna approached, Conrad had already drawn the next hand.

President Sterling got up and offered her his seat.

After sitting down, Anna first glanced at the chips in Conrad’s hand. There were several million, a pretty big ga, no small-denomination chips at all.

Anna had reason to suspect that these people saw Conrad always losing, so they deliberately increased the stakes, trying to take advantage.

That worked just fine, since everyone had the sa goal.

"Are you sure that whatever I lose is on you?" Anna confird with him before sitting down.

"Yes."

Conrad had a look that seed to say, "I don’t think you could bankrupt ."

Well, he underestimated Anna Thornton.

Once Anna sat down, she realized Conrad’s luck was truly awful.

What kind of crap cards are these?

Anna looked over the cards once, then again, yet still couldn’t see where to make a move with this rotten hand.

As things stood, she instead suggested, "If we’re going to play, why not raise the stakes a bit?"

"Hey Anna, you sound pretty confident," Ethan Hawthorne teased her.

"Isn’t there soone to cover my losses?" Anna looked smug and fearless.

In the first round, the other three didn’t agree.

As a result, Anna lost this ga, and the others at the table expressed they were open to her suggestion to raise the stakes.

The reason was simple; they were a bit cautious when dealing with President Sterling’s cards, considering his temper.

After all, they didn’t dare brazenly treat Conrad as a sucker.

But now that Anna was at the table, they could play freely.

As Anna said, in any case, soone else was covering the losses.

By winning against Anna at the table, they were winning President Sterling’s money. If President Sterling was unhappy about losing, he couldn’t bla anyone but Anna for suggesting raising the stakes.

It looked like President Sterling might take a big hit today.

And for him to reclaim those losses, surely he would target the big spender who directly lost at the table. How he’d reclaim it, who knows — maybe in the bedroom...

The three young n at the table were thinking slyly as they played.

Finn Grant, being sidelined, couldn’t stand it anymore.

Anna was his companion, yet she ended up with Conrad, playing mahjong for him.

Finn rudely kicked at the guy beside Ethan Hawthorne: "Simon Chandler, move! Get out of the way!"

Simon Chandler had just won two big rounds, was in high spirits, and didn’t want to budge.

However, sizing up Finn with a glance, Simon evaluated himself against Young Master Grant from family background to physical strength.

Ultimately intimidated by Finn’s strong pecs and abs, Simon grudgingly moved.

Just as Simon was about to get up, Anna suddenly spoke up, "Stay seated, we’ve started already."

"But, Young Master Grant..."

"When I joined the table, it was you three. If the people change, I’m not playing!"

With Anna’s declaration, Simon sheepishly sat back down.

He snuck a glance at Finn, noticing that surprisingly, Young Master Grant wasn’t angry.

It would be false to say Finn wasn’t annoyed by Anna snubbing him publicly.

But he wasn’t furious enough to act out, so he suppressed his anger.

After all, he knew if he lost it, the consequences wouldn’t be pleasant for everyone present.

Even if he controlled himself, he might have flipped the table and stord off.

But with Anna here, Finn didn’t want to leave.

So after hesitating and controlling himself, he reverted to his loyal dog tendencies.

Fine, if he couldn’t join the ga, he calmly moved a chair to sit beside Anna, watching her play mahjong.

There was no way he’d be asked to leave again, not in this lifeti.

Anyway, watching Anna lose Conrad’s money, Finn was quite happy.

And President Sterling himself remained unfazed.

It seed as though he truly didn’t fear Anna draining him dry.

Even when Anna lost three million in just two gas, not a hint of concern crossed his face.

anwhile, Anna was enjoying her losing spree, unaware that scenes of debauchery from outside her suite at the pool had been secretly fild and sent to the Hawthorne Family.

The Hawthorne Family faced an unprecedented crisis, and a sense of unease perated the luxurious mansion. Even the servants were furtively following the news online, worried they’d be out of work if the family fell.

Yet the fall of the Hawthorne Family seed unlikely.

As the saying goes, ’A centipede dies but never falls,’ the foundation built by the Hawthornes over the years was firm enough. Since Mason Hawthorne was already pushed out, he’d bear all the negative news thoroughly.

The Hawthorne Family now faced the challenge of rebuilding business confidence and reputation.

In this crisis, though Ethan Hawthorne showed exceptional performance,

he wasn’t the only one who contributed.

Another key contributor was the daughter of the Hawthorne Family’s main branch.

Although Marvin Hawthorne had a diocre personality and was constantly ill, his daughter was incredibly competent!

Rainie Hawthorne, 25 years old, held dual master’s degrees from a prestigious university, a genuine high-IQ hocoming beauty. But unfortunately, she was female; Old Master Hawthorne, like many of his generation, favored male heirs.

In the past, Marvin Hawthorne was the primary heir, but due to setbacks from so events, he lost his ambition and was bedridden.

Disappointed in him, Old Master Hawthorne saw he had only one daughter and thus abandoned the idea of the main branch inheriting the family business, turning his focus to the third branch.

At the ti, Rainie had already shown her skills in the Hawthorne Group. She showed no objection to her grandfather’s decision. Consequently, she made no significant achievents; she faded into obscurity, almost hiding in a forgotten company position as the third branch, led by Tanya Ford, took control of the group.

It wasn’t until Mason Hawthorne’s scandal exploded, putting the Hawthorne Group in unprecedented crisis, that Rainie re-erged.

She proposed asures to Old Master Hawthorne to restore the group’s reputation, many of which coincided with Ethan Hawthorne’s ideas.

Rainie had one advantage: she was a woman.

Just as Ethan could leverage his celebrity status to gain public favor, Rainie could market herself from a female perspective to garner support.

The frightening aspect was that while Ethan had Conrad’s backing,

Rainie, by herself, managed to regain Old Master Hawthorne’s recognition and now stood toe-to-toe with Ethan in the family.

It showed how capable she was!

Rainie felt disgusted as she looked at the indecent photos from Ethan’s party.

However, upon hearing that Conrad attended this party, her interest was piqued, and she was eager to et him.
