Oberon paused when he saw Nyx. He squinted his eyes, it seed for the first few seconds, he was in shock and disbelief.

Nyx gulped and slowly stood up.

He walked in and went to where she stood, giving her a curious look.

Archi watched them, not wanting to say anything.

"Nyx?" He drew his head backwards, "Nyx," his eyes widened.

She was mute, she gulped feeling a little nervous. He was a little different, the conditions here were telling hard on him.

"Nyx!" His eyes brightened.

She bit her lips, and turned her gaze sowhere else.

He was surprised, emotions bubbling up in his stomach. He held her shoulders, still trying to take it all in.

"Are.. you okay?"

She nodded, "I am fine," she replied quietly.

Archi noticing the atmosphere, he walked away and went into the rooms.

"Nyx, you are okay! How.. what.. happened to you? I had gone to the doctor’s and.. well... Soone else, pretending to be you ca ho with ..."

"How could you let soone else fool you?"

"She.. had your face and.."

"That does not matter at all! My scent was different, my behavior should have been different. You could not figure all that out?!"

He sighed, "I wish.. but.."

"But?"

He pulled her into a hug, his hands tightly wrapped around her.

"Nyx.. I did a lot of wrong things... I think.. probably I am cursed."

She creased her brows, "what? Why?"

"If I had respected you back then.. none of this would have been happening to ," he croaked.

She rolled her eyes, "whatever. You might not be cursed though, just.."

"Forget about all that for now. How are you?"

"I am fine. I already said that."

He made her sit down, "wait.. it was a wound around your stomach," his eyes searched for the spot which was covered with light clothing so it could heal faster.

"Yes. It is healing gradually."

His eyes t with hers, "who.. how co you were not at the hospital? Where did you go?"

She sighed, and rested back on her chair, "my own father tried to kill . Well, luckily I was able to dodge all of his advances but the wound was giving a lot of trouble and I passed out."

Oberon squinted his eyes, "Andrew tried killing you?"

She nodded.

"Why?"

"They had always hated ," she shrugged.

"Where is he? I would like to.."

"No, he is dead now. Archi told uh.. Dora’s friend had killed him."

"Interesting."

"I guess," she muttered.

"So the person who ca to the palace as you is related to him?"

"Well if you say soone had co to the palace looking like , then that must have been the reason. So Risa could take my place."

"And I fell for it," he shook his head feeling so disappointed in himself.

"Well.. you did. Now look what it has caused you," she said sternly.

He exhaled deeply, "I guess I had always needed you. I have always been lost, and you were supposed to be that light who would guide down my path," he buried his face in his palm.

"I have failed Nyx. As as mate, father, ruler. It would have been better If I had not been born."

Nyx felt pity for him. He had wronged her, but it was all out of ignorance.

She held his hands and he looked up at her.

"Blaming yourself will not help you. Forget about all those and just move on. You have a pack to claim back. Do not look back and start regretting past mistakes."

He nodded, "with you here, I think I will be able to pull through."

She curled her lips, "I am hungry," she squinted her eyes.

He arched his brow, "oh. Okay, let get you sothing," he stood up and rushed to the kitchen.

She sighed when he had left.

"Poor Alpha," she shook her head.

She rested back on her chair, Oberon’s words playing in her head.

"What did Risa do? Why did she have to do such a thing?" She muttered, "what am I supposed to do now? The mbers of our pack are scattered about," she held her forehead.

Her right foot tapped on the floor, trying to think of a probable solution.

"I never knew she could be this mischievous! I hope Andrew is happy wherever he is!" She said sarcastically.

She closed her eyes, "first things first.. I should get better and not worry myself too much. That should be number one," she whispered.

There was silence as she waited for Oberon to co back with the al he was preparing.

So minutes later, he ca back with steaming hot Avgolemono.

Her eyes lit up, "oh!"

"I missed healthy foods! Wulver didn’t know how to make these."

"Who?"

"A wulver saved that day. He had seen Andrew trying to bury and he watched. When he was gone, he ca to dig out and has been taking care of ever since."

His eyes lit up with gratitude, "oh, I see. I would love to pay him a visit."

She shrugged and began to drink her soup. He watched her and a smile appeared at the corner of his lips.

"I missed you. The real you. Definitely not that.." he rolled his eyes, a frown appearing on his face.

"I know," she replied simply.

He twisted his lips, "so.."

"Let finish my soup first," she told him, and he nodded.

"Sure.. I can wait.." he said.

She drank her soup slowly as she did not want to choke over it.

He watched her eat, and he dropped his gaze, his heart warming up.

"Did I ntion? You are cute when you drink soup like that. Not when you eat like a piranha," he laughed.

"What?" She looked up.

"Nothing," he shook her head.

She blinked, with chicken in her mouth, "I do not understand you."

He shook his head, "no need."

She frowned and continued drinking her soup.

"Uh.. when you are done. I would like to show you sothing," he smiled, and stood up.

"I will be in the rooms," he left.

Her eyes followed him as he left. She sighed, "okay?"

He went to the room where Elena, Archi, Dora, and Neriah were in.

"Have you talked with her? Is she hostile?" Elena asked as soon as Oberon walked in.

"No, she is fine. We are talking quite well. She does not seem to be angry."

Elena smiled, "thank goodness."

He sat down beside Neriah on the ground, "she is pretty good though. Happy she is not at least being harsh," he laughed nervously.

"Well, she does seem to be a nice person. She must have a good heart," Neriah chipped in.

"Yes. She is," he nodded.

"Make sure to keep it going. Do not annoy her over petty matters," Dora warned.

"Oh yes, I will."

"Handle her with care too. She is still healing," Archi chipped in.

Oberon looked at him, "I will not forget that. I promise."

"Why did you co here though?" Elena asked.

"She was hungry so I made chicken soup for her. She is still having it."

"Hmm."

"Oberon, make sure to tell her everything. Make her reason with you. She can not be mad at you forever," Dora told him.

He nodded, "I know. That is what I am about to do."

"That is good, very good," Elena breathed a sigh of relief.

Nyx walked to the room and t them halfway in their discussion.

"Is this about ?" She raised a brow.

Oberon stood up as soon as he saw her, "oh, you should not have bothered yourself. You would have called for ."

"It is fine. I thought I would like to see this place again," she smiled.

"Are you okay?" Neriah asked.

"I am fine. Thank you," she laughed.

She faced Oberon, "you said you wanted to show sothing," she smiled.

He nodded, "I did," he went to et her and held her hand, "let us go then."

"Be careful," Elena said.

"We will."

He led her outside, taking her to the back of the house.

"Nyx."

"Yes?"

"I.. I am not an Alpha."

She gasped, "what are you then?"

"A Lycan," he grinned.

"What? How?"

"It is a long story but to cut it short. I recently found out that my father was a Lycan but my mother never told , and yes Dora is my sister too."

"Huh?" Her jaws dropped.

He shrugged, "it was a recent sothing," he scratched his head nervously.

"Whoa.. no wonder.." she muttered.

"What?"

"Archi was said to be a Lycan pup. Now I know why."

"Oh."

"I have been trying to bring out that side but it is not working. I have thought I had been an Alpha for so long I think my Lycan side has died."

"Why did your mother not tell you this?"

"She wanted to protect from my uncle back then. Too bad, he is already in charge of the palace now."

Nyx was shocked, "your uncle? In charge of the palace?"

"Yes."
