NYLAH

I finished my food at breakfast, looking like soone condemned already to die. My shoulders remained stooped, and I walked around the entire day looking like soone being controlled by a demon of sadness and zero will to live.

I spent my day in my garden, sniffing the flowers that had blood. It might be my last ti seeing them, so I watered them, fed them with so fertilizer, and sniffed at them throughout the day.

Sofia ca to check on a couple of tis, but there was nothing she could do to cheer on. After futile efforts, she left in the garden.

I waited for the Alpha’s guards to pick up and throw in the dungeon, but they were taking too much ti.

I even sent Arianna a ssage telling her I loved her and I might not be active online for a while, and she shouldn’t be too worried if she doesn’t hear from .

I waited throughout the day, but I didn’t see any of the guards co to pick up.

"What do you think they are doing now?" I asked Sofia when we retired to our room in the night.

"I don’t know, Nylah. I think you should eat first before you worry?" She replied with a calm tone.

"Maybe they are contemplating on what to do with ? Do you think they will just get rid of once and for all?" I asked again, and Sofia sighed.

She must be tired of my questions.

"I think that if the Alpha wanted to get rid of you, he could have done that long ago." She replied, and it was my turn to sigh.

"Co on now! Even if the worst is going to happen to you, don’t you think this is your last free night to eat as much as you want, drink yourself to stupor and get all the rest you can before anything happens." Sofia’s words were as convincing as the food looked.

"You made this food yourself?" I asked, and she nodded with pride.

"Trust , this isn’t your regular porridge." She added.

"Then I guess I should eat it because you made it yourself." I replied and picked up the spoon, scooped so of the porridge, and licked it up with my tongue. It felt like magic, I felt better instantly.

"Mmmm..." I nodded in acceptance and took another spoon, fuller this ti.

"Hope you made enough of this? I’m going to eat to death tonight." Sofia chuckled at my words and watched relish every spoonful of the porridge.

"Why do I feel so much better eating this food?" I asked at so point. The weight of my punishnt was lessened by over eighty percent, and I felt like I could fly however high I wanted. I was down a few minutes ago.

Although Sofia was a great cook, it was hard to believe that her porridge changed my mood thus much.

"I put sothing in there to ease your stress and anxiety. I know you have been worried throughout today, so I helped you out a little." She replied, and I nodded with understanding.

"Fair enough. When is it going to clear off my eyes?" I asked, and she shrugged.

"I can’t say. It might last up to a week or less, depending on your capacity and internal strength." She replied.

"I’m sorry for drugging you, though."

"It’s fine, I guess I needed it to feel better, and I do feel better now." I replied and let a smile cross my face. I lifted the cup containing so water up above my head and scread cheerfully.

"Now it’s ti to party and get drunk!" Sofia laughed at , but I could see sothing else in her eyes. It was sharp and at alert.

I wanted to ask her why she was that vigilant but as I opened my mouth to speak, I suddenly felt so dizzy and no matter how hard I tried to keep my eyes open, it got shut and I lost consciousness.

***

I woke up the next day with a banging headache the next morning, Sofia wasn’t beside nor in the room. I walked into the bathroom to ease myself, and as I stepped out of the bathroom, I saw her half running towards .

She placed a quick hug on and held my both hands.

"The Alpha’s guards are coming for you. Be strong." She inford quickly, and this ti, I sought another hug.

Loud knocks sounded on the door, and I raised my head high and squared my shoulders before walking to the door and opening it up.

The guards apprehended and dragged along the hallway like a criminal. I didn’t even have the chance to wash my sleepy face.

They dragged to the eting hall and threw to the ground before the Alpha, Ivy, and Brian.

My hair fell in my face and blocked my view when I fell, so I shook my head to push the hair from my face when a heavy slap landed on my cheek.

I held the spot the slap landed and saw Ivy throwing her hand to my other cheek. I dodged that and crawled backwards to avoid further hits from her.

"Look at the pathetic thing!" She snapped.

"You lied to because you wanted the Alpha so badly. Well, jokes on you. Who is standing beside him now, and who is on the floor like a slave?!" She asked before spitting on .

I didn’t take my hand off the initial spot she slapped . Instead, I searched the faces of everyone in the hall.

Xavier, Brian, and the old man.

Their faces were stiff except for Brian. He shifted his gaze from like he was avoiding eye contact with , but Xavier looked as angry as Ivy.

"That’s enough." Xavier called out, and Ivy stepped back and stood beside him like it was the only novel role one could ever have; standing beside the Alpha blah blah.

"You lied against and almost turned my bride to be against because of whatever reason, and you must be punished for it. You have developed so irritating attitudes recently, and they will not go unpunished." Xavier addressed .

Brian still looked away and Ivy nodded affirmatively while the old man looked at like I was so thief he had been aning to catch for a while, the look of satisfaction was hard to miss on his face.

Xavier stepped back a little and whispered sothing into the old man’s ear, and the old man lifted his head higher than he had kept it initially.

He cleared his throat and began.

"The punishnt for anyone who lies against the Alpha is severe, according to my new rules. You will be flogged by the pack’s guards, and the Alpha’s bride to be has the liberty to do whatever she wants with you until she’s satisfied with it." He spoke.

I slowly shifted my gaze to the floor and peeled my hand from my face. Hot tears ford in my eyes, but I blinked them back vigorously.

I refused to break down in front of my enemies.

Ivy cleared her throat next and spoke.

"You will be my maid. You will serve for as long as I want for sinning against and the Alpha." She declared, and the old man nodded.

Brian was the first to walk away, and Xavier followed behind him.

Ivy ran after Xavier, and the old man was next to go, and although it was very little, I caught a smirk on his face just before he walked away. Sothing was not right, but I didn’t have enough ti to think about it. The Alpha’s guards dragged out of the hall to the centre of the pack.

I was becoming a regular at the centre of the pack, and I was not ashad like the first ti I was dragged there. I was just... still... bitter.

They tied to a big pole there, and three guards assembled around and brought out canes made out of wolf skin. They probably made either out of the rogue wolves they killed.

It was dry and strong.

One lash fell on my back, and I scread in pain.

Another followed and yet another. I scread in pain as my body received the beatings.

The guards were not holding back. They flogged like I was a male wolf, I was just a female and wolfless.

I scread after every lash until I could no longer scream or cry. I only let out little grunts at every lash. My body went limp and I could feel the liquid spread all over my body, each wound hurt like a bitch.

The guards suddenly stopped and one of them loosed the rope they used in tying my hands to the pole.

I fell to the ground when the only thing holding up was loosened but it didn’t stop them, they dragged like a rag doll to Ivy’s chambers and she spat on when she saw .

"She can’t work for looking like a thing for sacrifice... have her clean up and begin work imdiately!" She scread and the guards dragged out again and dumped in front of Sofia’s room.
