ZINA

"You trust ?" Zina repeated in disbelief. "You’ve always held a grudge for my lies against you which is totally understandable. But ever since then, you’ve always had doubts about my words."

Frustration claid his features once again as he ran his free hand against his face. "Must you make say the words myself?"

Zina stared at him confused, not knowing what she was ant to implicitly understand. She admits that she wasn’t exactly the brightest when it ca to reading people’s emotions, but Daemon was entirely a different matter.

One second, he was hot, and then for ten seconds he was cold.

"I am a harsh man, Zina. Not exactly one of my strongest traits, but I do admit I have a knack for saying things I don’t an just for the fun of saying it."

Zina simply continued to stare at him, stunned at the weight of his confession.

"So you trust ?"

Daemon’s lips twisted into a sardonic smile. "You foretold the afternoon blood moon, the deford that attacked, and now, you sohow know the na of a woman whom every other person has forgotten about... it would be great foolishness on my part if I distrusted your great talents, Theta."

Zina was smiling broadly, "So you will be careful with Freya?"

His hands caressed her cheeks distractedly, his eyes never leaving hers. "Marcus is already spying on her, might I ask if you saw a vision of her?"

Zina wanted to cry at that mont. She wanted to sprawl herself against the floor and just wail. It was sure to be unsightly, but she couldn’t overco the urge even if she tried so herself.

Daemon trusts her....

Daemon didn’t think she was lying....

That fact alone was enough to dispel all her fears and reservations of him. It was enough to douse hot water over the parts of her heart that had hardened to ice points.

Shaking off her profound excitent, she turned serious as she answered. "The vision I saw was a past vision though aning I was rely seeing past events."

"Okay...." Daemon urged her to continue.

"There was a man and it was dark, however he didn’t look like soone from the North, East or South."

"Probably from the Iron Coast," Daemon said grimly as if he knew more about the matter than Zina.

Zina had hardly seen anyone from the Western Lands considering that she herself had recently started seeing, so she simply nodded.

"Probably. He was wearing a cultural mask and his eyes glead... red?"

Daemon’s hold on her cheeks tightened a bit, "a cultural mask? Red eyes?" He repeated, genuine surprise, colouring his features.

Zina nodded. "Indeed. It seed as though he was speaking to Freya even though I didn’t see the woman in the fleeting vision. But he said her na like a hiss... Freya Fergus."

Daemon nodded. "I will be careful of course, but you know more than I do that rely seeing soone speak her na doesn’t confer on her any guilt."

Zina nodded grimly, knowing that was true. But she still couldn’t shake off the feeling that sothing was grossly off, and it could be that that must have triggered the past vision.

Zina wanted to ask him about his past relationship with Freya and what had led to a mutual rejection, but for so reasons, she knew that inquiring into his past might be one of his hard lines so didn’t veer into that territory.

Already, she was quite content with having his trust so she would just make do with that for now.

Her eyes darted about them, staring at the shattered glass pieces and the implication for her.

What was she? And why was everything happening now? Had her death triggered it all?

Daemon, noticing her unrest, tugged her closer to him until their bodies were hugging and her now heaving breasts were squashed against his chest. His free hand wound up against her waist, tugging her even closer if that were possible.

Zina smiled, temporarily forgetting about her worries. "What is your obsession with gripping my waist?" She asked playfully.

She might not know much about intimacy, but she believed n loved to roam their hands about, but in Daemon’s case, the man seed quite perfectly content to grip just her waist although at the mont, his other hand was caressing her cheeks.

"Ahh... you noticed?" He said with a playful glimt in his eyes that made Zina’s heart stretch and beat to impossible rhythms.

Zina rolled her eyes playfully, suddenly feeling quite shy. "As if it is hard to notice your repeated deviant behaviour."

"Deviant?" He drawled, his hold on her waist tightening as they just stared at each other. His fingers caressed a curve while he leaned down into her, "is it so deviant of that I love just how well your waist fits into my palm?" He asked innocently while his fingers caressed her to madness.

The man wasn’t even touching her bare skin or a part of her body that was overly sensitive. And yet, he had sohow turned stroking her waist into the very pinnacles of intimacy itself.

Zina narrowed her eyes at him, at a loss on how to react to his expressiveness. She was the one that demanded more from him, and yet when faced with just that, she didn’t know how to react.

"I don’t know... it’s just that besides my waist, there are other parts of that you could touch." Zina finished awkwardly, groaning internally the mont the words she said registered fully with her brain.

Daemon’s eyes cooled like ice, his hold on her waist tightening even more until they were close as if they were just one. "Do you think you could handle it if I touched you elsewhere?" He whispered wantonly at her, his breath caressing her lips like the delicious stroke of air.

"Believe you wouldn’t be able to handle it." He finished, his lips eting hers while he nipped at her bottom lip.

Zina sighed into the kiss that was not really a kiss, her stress ebbing away. Daemon simply continued torturing her lower lip like it was the cause of all their problems.

Nip. Bite. Lick. Kiss. And the whole notion all over again.

When he disengaged, Zina was a panting ss as she stared at him through hooded eyes. She normally almost did not hear her wolf or feel the feral thing for the matter, but it was currently leaping for joy at that mont.

She rembered her encounter with the grand healer and how the blue in her eyes had flared like lights when she got so angry with the woman.

"Kiss ." He commanded Daemon just as her hands wound tight against his neck, "kiss properly and show just how much I can’t contain your touch."

Daemon’s lips twisted into a devilish smile. "Isn’t it a pity that I don’t take orders from other people?"

And then he was kissing her, but not on her lips as she had expected, but at the nape of her neck.

Zina gasped, holding onto him like he was her lifeline as different sensations slamd into her. He repeated the sa motions... nip, bite, lick, kiss, while Zina wantonly tugged him closer to her as if to swallow his entire being while tears of needs ford in her eyes.

Desire hung in the air, and she could sll Daemon’s need for her. It thrilled her as much as the things he was doing to her body.

Daemon finally ca up from her neck, and then he pressed a chaste kiss on her forehead while whispering. "We better control ourselves, Theta. It is afternoon, and I wouldn’t mind taking you here."

Zina shuddered under his sparse touch and overwhelming presence.

His lips trailed down to her nose, and he pressed a chaste kiss there while Zina shut her eyes, praying to the heavens for the strength to resist the man called Daemon NorthSteed.

Finally, his lips trailed down again, eting her full lips into a kiss that sealed all their needs and wants together. Zina shut her eyes, acquiescing herself into his guidance. There was relief that the contact that she had been anticipating was finally there, but besides that was the overwhelming urge to just... cry and let everything go.

Daemon’s lips tugged at her all, his teeth deliciously grazing against her lips, and their tongues dancing together to a rhythm of the moon dance while his lips drew in the very essence of herself.

He kissed her for so long until Zina could no longer feel her legs.

He kissed her for so long until Zina could no longer breathe properly, and yet, it felt like death for her to disengage from the sensations that she was feeling.

He kissed her until Zina’s tears unceremoniously rolled down from her cheeks, making their kiss wetter.

He kissed her until she could feel the force of his trust for herself.
