Prince Leonard walked into the room without knocking while dragging behind him. I didn’t know what to expect, but to see Roxanna sitting up on her hospital bed with her gaze directed in our direction wasn’t exactly what I had in mind.
“Roxanna!” Prince Leonard called her na loudly as he went to stand right at her bedside.
The doctor and the nurses quickly made way for the prince. It was clear that now wasn’t the right ti for them to give a dical report on Roxanna’s current condition. With a dismissive nod from the prince the entire dical team silently made their way out of the room. I couldn’t stop staring at Roxanna’s face as I found it very shocking that she had suddenly regained consciousness. It was truly surprising, but I guessed that miracles can really happen.
Now I understood why Prince Leonard had rushed all the way over here right after receiving the call and what he ant when he said that he needed to see this for himself. I was certain that it was also hard for the prince to believe that she had woken up without seeing it with his own eyes. I thought that I didn’t quite belong, so I decided to give the two of them space for their long-awaited reunion. I felt a heavy feeling in my chest as I watched the two of them embrace each other as a prince leaned down so that she could wrap her arms around his back.
Although the prince had explained to about their friendship, I couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable deep in my chest. I didn’t want to admit to myself that I was feeling jealous of her and their reunion, given how ridiculous and unreasonable it was. I knew very well that I should be rejoicing along with the prince for the recovery of one of his friends instead of feeling such unjustifiable emotions. Despite that, it felt better for to keep my distance from them.
“I can’t believe that you’ve finally woken up...” Prince Leonard said with clear joy and his voice.
“Was I asleep for that long?” Roxanna asked before letting out a soft laugh.
“You really have no idea? You were asleep for far too long...” Prince Leonard replied.
I had very mixed feelings as I continued to observe their conversation. The prince dragged a chair to the side of her bed before sitting down on it. It felt like they were absorbed in their own private little world in which I didn’t have a place in. I had no idea why Prince Leonard dragged along with him when it might have been better for him to co here alone so that he could spend ti catching up with her.
“Mila, co over here,” Prince Leonard said as he suddenly turned my way.
He beckoned with his hand for to join him at Roxanna’s bedside. I could feel her curious eyes on as I slowly and hesitantly approached the bed.
“Let introduce her to you. This is Mila, she’s my mate,” Prince Leonard introduced quite directly as he wrapped his arm around my waist as if proudly presenting to his friend.
Roxanna’s eyes widened and then she smiled so brightly as if she was genuinely excited to et .
“Wow! You finally found the one,” Roxanna said in amazent as she kept on staring at with widened and round eyes.
“So, you’re the one that he told about,” she said as if she had suddenly connected the dots.
She smiled knowingly at as if she had a hidden secret that she knew that I wanted to know.
“Prince Leonard told you about ?” I asked curiously with raised eyebrows.
The tiline just didn’t seem to fit in and make sense. I was certain that Roxanna had already fallen asleep even before I t the prince. I turned to the prince with a questioning look on my face as I wished that he would jump in to explain. Roxanna let out a laugh that sounded so sweet before she raised her hand to cover her mouth.
“I’m so happy that you found her. You must be very happy as well. Honestly, this is such a pleasant surprise, I never thought that I would end up eting her,” Roxanna confessed straightforwardly to the prince before she turned to offer another smile.
“What did you tell her about ?” I asked the prince as my curiosity quickly took over.
For a mont, it looked like he was at a loss for words as if he felt uncomfortable to discuss this topic.
“He told that he’s been seeing a woman in his dreams whenever he goes to sleep. At first I teased him that he was probably feeling lonely,” Roxanna replied to my question instead of the prince before she let out an amused chuckle.
“Let’s not talk about this right now. You’ve just woken up. I should call the doctor so that they can get you tested,” Prince Leonard quickly interrupted her.
“No! That can wait for later. Plus, I feel just fine”, Roxanna said quickly to dismiss the prince’s concern before turning to with sparkling eyes.
It was clear that she wanted to go on with whatever story she wanted to tell . I honestly found the prince’s flustered reaction to be quite entertaining, and I couldn’t deny that I wanted to hear the rest of Roxanna’s story.
“Please continue. Honestly, I can’t wait to hear the rest of the story,” I replied without suppressing a smile.
“You see, Prince Leonard here dread of you quite often. At first, he wouldn’t tell about it, but when I started nagging, he slowly opened up and confessed that he’d dreamt of the sa woman quite often. I have to say that back then I thought it was all nonsense, and when he even went further to tell about the concept of fated mates and everything related to that, I just thought it was so fantasy theory that wasn’t real...” Roxanna said before she giggled as if she was a young child.
