“What about you? What are you planning to do with Selena?” I repeated my question again without allowing for his escape.
Even if according to the official process, the committee would have the final say in what would happen to Selena after this, I wanted to know what Prince Darius had in mind for her. After all, he was her lover and not the committee. Prince Darius seed to ponder my words for a few seconds before he settled on an answer.
“Well, it’s obvious now that her body can’t handle carrying a mixed breed fetus to full term so there is no point in mating with her anymore,” he stated quite factually.
“How...can you say sothing like that?” I asked before letting out a gasp of shock. I had thought that by that ti he would have considered more of Selena’s feelings.
“It’s the truth. This will be better for everyone including Salena herself,” Prince Darius confird his decision firmly.
“I see...”I murmured as I realized that I was at a complete loss as to what to do or say.
“If there’s nothing else that you are concerned about, I will take my leave now,” Prince Darius swiftly brought the conversation to an end.
I watched speechlessly as he silently left the room, leaving only Prince Leonard and behind.

After Prince Darius left, I went back into Selena’s hospital room to visit her for a short while before taking my leave. I simply told her to rest and not to worry about anything and that we were always going to be here to support her no matter what. Selena thanked with tears in her eyes before I left the room.
For the rest of that night, sleep evaded endlessly and it felt like I was playing a useless ga of tag with it. It didn’t take long for Prince Leonard to realize that I couldn’t fall asleep. He pulled into his arms and kissed my forehead tenderly.
“Are you still thinking about your friend?” The prince asked although he probably already knew the answer.
“I’m just so worried about her,” I replied honestly as I felt a heavy feeling in my heart.
“I know that it’s useless to tell you to stop worrying, but you need to have more faith in your friend. She is stronger than you think, and she will co to terms with this and move on,” Prince Leonard said as his large hand stroked my back.
The warmth of his embrace and the care in his words only reminded that Selena was going through so much pain, there was no one by her side to comfort her.
“I wish that Prince Darius would comfort Selena just like this. I’m sure that she is so in love with him and that this is exactly what she needs right now,” I I said sadly while regretting that I couldn’t be the one to comfort her.
“Darius is different, he does things his own way. I’m sure that he cares about her, although he might not show it the way that you would like,” Prince Leonard said in defense of his brother.
“Are you certain? It just seems like he doesn’t care about her at all,” I replied with what I honestly thought.
“I don’t know how to explain this, but Darius cares about all of his lovers. It might be a little more like a responsibility to him, but I am sure that he cares in his own way. You might not like it, but it might be for the best for the two of them to be apart,” Prince Leonard said solemnly.
I wondered if there would be a day when he would tell that it would be better for us to be apart as well. That thought entered my head and seed to spread such deep sorrow all throughout my body and my heart that I didn’t dare to even voice it to the prince. Instead I decided to focus on the issue at hand because I knew that I needed to figure out a way to support my dear friend.
“What will happen to Salena now?” I asked Prince Leonard in a shaky voice as I looked up at his face.
I wonder what the committee would do now that Prince Darius clearly had no intention to maintain his relationship with Selena. He even went as far as to say that he would never mate with her again and it was all because she was useless to him now. Prince Leonard seed to hesitate as if he wasn’t sure how to respond to my question and I could tell that it wasn’t good news.
“Is there sothing that Selena wants to do? Has she ever told you sothing about that?” Prince Leonard inquired.
“She once told that she wants to beco a doctor or just study dicine. I don’t know much about it, but she did ntion that she wanted to study more than anything. She cos from a small town and didn’t have the money or resources to study because she had to work,” I replied while recalling what Selena had told quite so ti ago about her dreams.
Prince Leonard had a thoughtful look on his face as if he was considering if that was a real possibility, and I found myself waiting and hoping that he could do sothing to help Selena. Sotis I felt like I was hoping for too much from the prince and that I was being too demanding and relying on his help; however, I couldn’t help but pray that Prince Leonard would end up helping Selena
“Well, I guess it’s never too late to start studying,” Prince Leonard said before he showed a very warm smile.
“Really? Does that an...” I asked before trailing off as my eyes widened with pleasant surprise.
Prince Leonard simply nodded his head at while he kept on showing his irresistible smile. His arms tightened around my body as he drew even closer into his loving embrace.
“If that is her dream and if you want to support it, then I want to support it as well. I’m honestly not sure about the details, but I’m sure that we can figure sothing out based on her current educational background. I’m sure that we can arrange for her to pick up where she had left off,” the prince suggested brightly.
