Since Prince Leonard did not ntion that I should be expecting a guest, I didn’t think that I would walk in to see Prince Leonard conversing with his elder brother. Just when I thought that I should make my retreat because I seed to be stepping into their private conversation, Prince Leonard’s eyes spotted .
“Oh Mila, you’re finally here,” he called out to as if he had been waiting for to arrive.
“Yes, I just got back,” I replied.
I could feel Prince Darius’ gaze rest on and that made feel slightly nervous. Although this wasn’t my first ti eting him, I could never get used to his presence.
“Darius will be joining us for dinner,” Prince Leonard answered my unasked question as if he could read my mind.
I nodded my head before making my way to the dining table where the two of them were already seated.
“Sit next to ,” Prince Leonard instructed.
I could feel Prince Darius following my every movent with his eyes as I took my seat next to his brother. I wondered what the two of them had been discussing before I joined them.
The maids did their job so smoothly and swiftly at serving our food before stepping away to give us the privacy that we needed to converse.
“Like I was saying, you need to start focusing and delivering on the results before father steps in to take matters into his own hands,” Prince Darius warned his brother again.
“I don’t want to talk about this anymore,” Prince Leonard replied in a clipped tone.
“I’m going to keep on nagging you about it, until you make so kind of commitnt,” Prince Darius said without backing down.
I glanced between the two of them as I wondered what they were referring to. I would be lying if I said that I had absolutely no clue what they were talking about. Every word that they said seed to fit very well with the matter of us conceiving a child who would hopefully turn out to be an ultimate Alpha. I suddenly felt anxious and then the food in front of didn’t look at all appealing to my eyes.
“Honestly, we are committed. We’re doing everything we can without holding back. I think it’s just a matter of ti and we should just give it a rest already,” Prince Leonard said with clear annoyance.
“I know that there’s nothing wrong with you because we always get our regular checkups. If that’s the case, then maybe sothing is wrong with her,” Prince Darius said as his eyes glanced over at accusingly as if I had committed a cri that I was unaware of.
By the ti I was certain that he was discussing my ability to conceive. Just like all of those dical exhibitions that we had visited, I wondered if I was one of the won who had infertility issues. Prince Darius had just ntioned that Prince Leonard probably wasn’t the problem, then perhaps the problem truly was .
“Stop making nonsense guesses,” Prince Leonard imdiately replied in my defense.
I wasn’t sure how I felt about my fertility being discussed between two n right in front of as if I wasn’t sitting there with them.
“It wouldn’t kill her to get a test,” Prince Darius pointed out.
“She’s been to see the doctors a few tis already, and the doctors think that she is fine,” Prince Leonard pointed out.
“Then perhaps the issue lies in your compatibility with her,” Prince Darius suggested another alternative explanation.
If I had known that Prince Darius was waiting for back at Prince Leonard’s palace and that we would be discussing this matter over dinner, I would have stayed to have dinner with my friends Instead at the Sacred Chambers. I didn’t think that I would regret my return to Prince Leonard’s palace, but I found myself regretting my decision more than ever.
Prince Darius’s eyes glanced over at pointedly as if he was silently asking if I had anything to say for myself. I casted my eyes downwards in fear of eting his intense gaze because I didn’t have a sound excuse to offer. The atmosphere felt so tense that it beca almost suffocating for . Just when I wished that Prince Leonard would step in to help , the prince spoke up.
“Can we talk about this so other ti?” Prince Leonard said lazily as he tried to brush off the entire thing.
I wasn’t sure whether he was considerate of my feelings or if he simply didn’t want to deal with this issue any longer.
“How long can we possibly put this off?” Prince Darius asked before letting out an exasperated sigh.
Even I had to agree with Prince Darius that I wasn’t sure how long we could put this issue off before soone stepped in to solve it for us.
“I don’t know why everyone is trying to make it out to be so big issue when it isn’t even a problem in the very first place. Regina and Salena are both pregnant so that ans that we have two potential babies that could turn out to be Ultimate Alphas already,” Prince Leonard complained openly.
“The king expects you to make your contribution,” Prince Darius replied smoothly.
“Is this supposed to be so kind of donation campaign?” Prince Leonard replied sarcastically.
“Well if you’re not going to do anything about it, I guess as your brother I should do sothing about it,” Prince Darius declared as if he had reached his own conclusion about the matter.
I cocked my head slightly to the side as I wondered what he was planning in that mysterious head of his. The way his eyes landed directly on my face told that his plan involved in so way and I started feeling uncomfortable inside.
“Should we give it a try?” Prince Darius said so casually that I wasn’t sure what he was actually referring to.
“Excuse ?” I managed to respond in a soft murmur as I struggled to comprehend his words.
I had already gotten a very bad feeling about what the prince was about to propose.
