“Actually, I’m feeling a little tired today. You see, I didn’t sleep well last night...” I said before showing her a regretful smile.
“Are you feeling unwell? You should have let know sooner,” the duchess replied with apparent worry.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say that I was feeling sick but there was no denying that my lack of sleep from the night before was getting to . However, that wasn’t the reason why I wanted to end our dance lesson earlier than planned. Despite being very chatty in our previous dance lessons, the duchess didn’t talk to much during our dance practice.
“What about we sit and talk for a bit?” I suggested.
“Sure, if that’s what you want to do,” the duchess agreed without any hesitation.
I walked toward the bench where we usually sat to rest, drink water, and chat. There were so many things that I wanted to talk to her about and ask her that I didn’t even know where to start. I had thought that it would be harder to invite the duchess for a proper conversation, but it seed like everything was going according to my plan. I took a seat on the bench and the duchess sat down next to before letting out a long sigh.
“So, what is it that you wanted to talk about?” she asked as she turned to face directly.
My eyes widened at her straightforward question before I felt thankful for her direct approach to this. She must have known that I had many things that I wanted to ask her especially with how things played out with the prince yesterday. She stared at silently with eyes filled with curiosity as she waited for my reply.
“I got to spend ti with Prince Leonard yesterday and I guess I have you to thank for that,” I said softly.
“Did you have a good ti?” the duchess asked with a knowing smile on her lips.
I couldn’t bring myself to ntion the fact that I had mated with Prince Leonard again, but the duchess was more than capable of understanding the aning behind my words. Then again, I bet that she must have known that sothing like that was bound to happen. Once again, it felt like I was trapped in her plans, and everything was going exactly as she had anticipated. Despite feeling that, I had no intentions of backing away and it did not bother so much that I didn’t quite know what her true objective was.
“Yes, I had a good ti,” I replied as I struggled to keep the conversation going.
“Was the prince mad at you?” she asked and once again she showed a knowing smile.
I wondered if she even knew that I had confessed our sche to the prince. Duchess Flavia had a smile on her beautiful lips as she waited patiently for my response. She seed so confident that the prince wouldn’t bla for anything and that he wouldn’t get too mad. Fortunately, she ended up being right about every single thing.
“Not as angry as I thought that he would be...” I said before letting out a soft sigh of relief.
“Hmm...that’s great. It seems that everything worked out in the end, and you got to spend ti with your prince,” she said before her smile widened.
“I guess I did get into so trouble but fortunately the prince was kind to ,” I confessed softly.
By that ti, I felt like our conversation was going around in circles as I evaded taking the next step that was supposed to lead to voicing the various questions that I had to Duchess Flavia. While I pondered how to approach the subject, the duchess let out a soft laugh before she was the one who spoke up first.
“What about this? I’ll do you so favors because it seems like I have gotten you into trouble with Prince Leonard. I have to say, I never thought that the prince would be so forgiving...” the duchess suggested before beaming a smile my way.
I had thought that I was the only one eager to get to the talking part of our lesson, but it seed like the duchess was just as eager. For so strange reason, I could feel that the duchess genuinely seed to support my relationship with Prince Leonard although her way of supporting us might be quite unique. She probably had her own reasons for doing so which were unknown to ; however, at that point in ti, I didn’t mind getting all the help that I could get to understand what was going on.
“The prince is very kind...” I replied softly in agreent.
“Well, is there sothing that I can do for you?” she asked before smiling sweetly at .
Her sudden offer caught off guard and I wasn’t sure what I wanted from her exactly apart from so knowledge. I stared at her pleasant smile in silence for a while before my eyes widened when an idea ca to . Instead of asking her directly about Prince Leonard, perhaps there was sothing that I could learn from her relationship with the prince’s father.
“Umm...” I murmured hesitantly.
“Honestly, there’s no need to be shy. You can ask just about anything,” the duchess said encouragingly.
“Well, I was wondering what your relationship with the king is like. I an, what is it like to be in a relationship with an Alpha for a long ti...” I asked in a small voice.
“Hmm...that’s a very interest question...” the duchess replied with a grin.
Simply because I did not take her for a serious person, I was slightly surprised that the duchess thought so intensely about my question before giving an answer.
“I guess, it’s not that much different from dating or marrying a regular man, although I’ve never been married to a regular man. Well, the mating part is clearly different but it’s not sothing unmanageable. Then again, you should already know that...” she said before letting out a small giggle.
