The hardness of my own bed under as I sat on it made yearn a little for a softer bed. Now that I was alone, my mind imdiately began churning through many confusing thoughts of what had happened last night starting from the mont that I received orders from Lady Regina to clean the statues in the bathhouse after curfew. Unknowingly, I had started chewing down on my lower lip while I thought of the many mysteries that I still couldn’t find the answer to.

“Stop...Mila...” I warned myself out loud whenever my mind would drift to thoughts of the passionate monts that I shared with Prince Leonard.

There were many things that I didn’t understand but the thing that plagued my mind the most was that voice I heard in my head when I prayed desperately for help.

‘Where are you?’

The voice that accompanied that unbearable pain in my brain, what is it exactly?

At first, I honestly believed that it was just my imagination but the more that I thought about it, the less certain I was that it was just sothing purely in my mind. I really heard that voice and I didn’t hear it only once. That voice spoke to twice. It asked a question and I answered.

A shiver ran up my spine as my body shuddered just at the thought. It felt extrely spooky. At that ti in the bath, I was so scared of Prince Florian that I didn’t realize it until Prince Leonard turned up spectacularly through the glass ceiling. That voice that spoke to sounded a lot like Prince Leonard’s voice.

But he wasn’t there...so how?

My head snapped around to look at my bedroom door as if expecting the prince to suddenly make his entrance through the doorway. Of course, there was no one there and I let out a sigh of relief while closing my eyes for a brief mont. Soon after the conversation that I had with that voice inside my head, Prince Leonard ca to rescue .

It could have been just a coincidence, but I just couldn’t help but wonder if the two events were indeed connected in so way. It was then that I made up my mind that the next ti that I got the chance, I would ask Prince Leonard about it. He might think that I’ve gone crazy but that would probably be the extent of the damage.

Maybe I was just thinking too much of him even in that desperate mont?

...

My rumbling tummy told that it was ti for dinner. Mada Cassandra should be here to deliver my food just like clockwork. Just as my eyes glanced up to see the ti on the clock, there was knock on my door.

“Yes?” I called out.

“We bought you dinner!”

A cheerful voice called from the opposite side of my door. I gasped in delight before quickly climbing off my bed and running towards the door. I opened the door to my room to see my two friends standing there with bright smiles on their faces and trays of food in their hands.

“Jessie! Salena!” I called their nas excitedly.

“Surprised?” Jessie asked while Salena giggled.

“Very...” I admitted.

“Mada Cassandra told us to bring you dinner and that we could have dinner with you,” Jessie explained.

“Oh...that’s great...” I said joyfully.

“She told us that you have to stay in your room so...we have to eat in here together...” Salena added solemnly.

“My room is kind of small but if you don’t mind...” I said as I gestured for them to enter.

“Your room is just as small as ours...” Jessie muttered before walking in.

“Or just as big...” Salena said while flashing an optimistic smile.

My two friends entered my room and soon we all made ourselves comfortable with the little furnishing that I had in my room. I was just thinking of them, so it felt great to be able to see them after a while.

“How have you two been?” I asked while forgetting all about dinner for a mont.

“Sa old, sa old. We’re still stuck at the bottom of the food chain working on random chores and basic cleaning duties,” Jessie said before rolling her eyes.

“I kind of like it...” Salena said softly.

“What about you?” Jessie asked as her eyes dropped to the blue dress that I had on.

“Umm...I’m still working for Lady Regina. So of the tasks she gives are surprising and challenging but overall things are fine...” I replied while trying not to ntion my various encounters with the princes.

“Lady Regina. Every ti I hear that na, it creeps out...” Jessie said as she faked an overexaggerated shiver.

“I’m glad to hear that you’re doing fine. We were quite worried when you have to move to work for the Lady all of a sudden,” Salena said before she smiled sweetly at .

“There are many rumors going around...” Jessie mumbled without eting my eyes.

Rumors?

“What about?” I asked curiously.

“About you. What else?” Jessie said like it was supposed to be obvious.

“Rumors...about ?” I asked while I started to feel confused.

“I’m sure that it’s not true, though...” Salena quickly jumped in.

“What are the rumors saying?” I asked straightforwardly.

The two girls looked at each other as they hesitated for a mont before their eyes returned to my face. Salena was clearly too shy to say anything to so I was hoping that Jessie could tell . I stared at them as I waited to hear their response to my question.

“Well, it’s just a rumor and we don’t believe it but...people are saying that ever since you moved to work for Lady Regina, you haven’t been working at all and that you’re just trying to get closer to the princes, especially Prince Leonard...” Jessie said with a helpless shrug.

“Oh...really?” I murmured in disbelief.

Was that how it seed to everyone else?
