Without any visible movent from Primogenitor, she was instantly surrounded by layers of impenetrable gemstone shields.

Hundreds of tal blades sward toward her, yet none managed to pierce through even a single shield. Instead, all the blades were deflected, leaving Primogenitor completely unscathed.

She imdiately turned her gaze toward the gemstone sphere.

While she was defending against the blades, the prison made of gemstone material had already been devoured by Nina using the Sage's Blood.

The Sage's Blood completely severed the connection between the gemstone prison and Primogenitor. The prison soon vanished, and Nagisa Akatsuki was freed, appearing beside Nina.

"Alone, you stand no chance against . Leave now!"

Nina remained composed.

As more clones gathered, the mass of Sage's Blood she controlled increased. What was once a stalemate had now turned into her overwhelming the opponent.

No matter how strong the defense of those gemstone shields, they couldn't remain unbreakable under continuously accumulating mass!

Primogenitor's face turned pale, and she remained silent.

After a mont, she seed to recognize the situation and voluntarily retreated, disappearing around the corner of the street.

"Finally, she's gone."

Nina visibly sighed in relief.

"Good thing only one ca, or it would have been troubleso."

She had split herself into hundreds of clones, each carrying less than a thousandth of the Sage's Blood of her main body. If three or four Primogenitors had co at once, she wouldn't have been able to handle them in a short ti and wouldn't have been able to protect Nagisa Akatsuki.

Fortunately, after being taught a lesson twice, that guy had beco much more cautious, not daring to let too many Primogenitors leave his side. Even to capture Nagisa Akatsuki, he only sent one.

"Waaah! Kojou-nii!"

Nagisa Akatsuki, tears streaming down her face, rushed into Kojou Akatsuki's arms.

Her expression, filled with terror and distress, was exactly the sa as during the New Year's Eve incident.

The identity of Primogenitor as a Demon caused her to tremble all over with fear.

"Thank you for saving Nagisa."

Kojou Akatsuki held his sister tightly, expressing his deep gratitude to Nina.

Though he didn't know who was behind it, the thought of Nagisa being captured filled him with lingering fear, making him all the more grateful to Nina.

"Don't ntion it. Just following my master's orders."

Nina waved it off indifferently.

As nurous clones gathered, this particular clone had finally grown to human height. With a figure slightly larger than Mimori Akatsuki's, she was quite eye-catching.

Master?

Kojou Akatsuki showed a hint of confusion.

But he had no ti to dwell on it now, quickly lowering his voice to comfort Nagisa.

"It seems I'm late."

A minute later, a car pulled up beside them.

A woman with a sharp aura stepped out. Her shoulder-length short hair looked very efficient, and her rare expressions made her seem sowhat unapproachable. The white coat she wore confird her identity as a researcher.

"Ms. Toyama?"

Kojou Akatsuki recognized her.

She was a mber of MAR, working as an assistant to his mother, Mimori Akatsuki, in the technical departnt. They had t many tis, so she wasn't a stranger.

"Why are you here, Ms. Toyama?"

Kojou Akatsuki looked at her with so wariness.

Having just learned a lesson, he beca quite vigilant.

"Ms. Mimori sent ."

Tōyama nodded with a solemn expression.

"Mom, is she back?"

Kojou Akatsuki was overjoyed.

Although her behavior and ntal age were quite childish, his mother was still an adult after all. With no one else to rely on at the mont, they couldn't afford to be picky.

But wasn't the company team-building supposed to last a week?

Had it already ended?

"Yes, please bring Miss Nagisa and co with to the MAR Research Institute. It should be much safer there than here."

Tōyama's expression remained unchanged as she made the suggestion coldly.

Kojou didn't mind her tone—she had always been like this since he first t her.

Learning that his mother had returned was like finding a pillar of support. Most of the panic in Kojou's heart vanished.

"By the way, Miss Nina, you should co too—"

Kojou turned to look.

He intended to invite the young lady whose na he had just learned to join them, but when he turned around, there was nothing there.

The exotic beauty who appeared to be only eighteen or nineteen years old had disappeared without a trace.

"Miss Nina?"

Tōyama frowned slightly, seeming sowhat displeased.

The na sounded familiar, but she couldn't recall who it belonged to in such a short ti.

"Never mind, let's go!"

Kojou shook his head.

It seed the other party was just passing by—she had saved them once and then left.

If he wanted to protect Nagisa, he could only rely on himself.

"Wait, I should call Mom first!"

Just to be safe, Kojou took out his phone.

Mimori Akatsuki hadn't told them when she had left Itogami Island.

Based on the tiline, the day she returned ho was exactly seven days ago, which actually matched up.

However, did Mimori Akatsuki leave Itogami Island on the sa day she ca ho to get her suitcase and start the company team-building?

Kojou felt sothing was off—that woman wasn't like him, soone who would always leave howork until the last minute.

"Alright."

Tōyama nodded calmly.

She seed very confident, not worried about any mishaps at all.

Her reaction reassured Kojou, so he opened his contacts.

"Thud!"

Kojou's eyes widened in shock.

A sudden, cramp-like pain in his abdon drained all the strength from his body in an instant, and stomach acid surged up to his throat.

Following the white coat, Kojou stared fixedly at the expressionless woman before him.

"Brother Kojou!"

Nagisa Akatsuki scread tremulously.

"Bla your mother."

Tōyama knocked Kojou down with a single punch.

Then she turned around, a palm-sized magic circle appearing on her hand. With a slight wave in front of Nagisa Akatsuki's face, the young girl looked dazed and soon collapsed softly.

She picked up Nagisa Akatsuki and placed her in the back seat of the car.

Then she took an envelope from her pocket, threw it onto Kojou's body, and left without looking back.

Only Kojou remained on the spot, lying unconscious on the ground.

"Good grief."

A sigh suddenly ca from the empty space.

Nina's figure materialized out of nowhere beside Kojou, her face full of helplessness.

She had cast a camouflage spell on herself that could distort light, making her invisible not only to the naked eye but even to surveillance caras. This spell was often used on Eiji as well, thanks to which the armored figure could evade the watchful eyes of satellites overhead.

"What a fool."

She glanced at Kojou Akatsuki lying on the ground and picked up the phone from the floor.

The mont the first one disappeared, this woman had appeared within a minute.

Anyone should have been imdiately on guard, yet Kojou Akatsuki had let his guard down slightly because she was his mother's assistant. Though he rembered later, it was already too late.
