Gary's Exeggutor, sturdy and compact, was quite unlike its Alolan cousin, which boasted a towering ten-ter neck. This Exeggutor had a stout and robust fra.

Facing it, Dragonair moved with elegance, its body undulating gracefully in the air, as if in harmony with so mystical rhythm, captivating everyone watching.

Soon, a small crowd of Trainers gathered around the battlefield. After all, it was rare to see a Dragonair in action, and Gary's Exeggutor looked equally formidable—this was bound to be an interesting match.

"Exeggutor, use Confusion!" Gary commanded, starting the battle.

A wave of psychic energy shot toward Dragonair.

Many Trainers might have tried to tank the attack, but Gary wasn't up against just anyone—he was facing Luo Yuan.

As a Psychic himself, Luo Yuan could see the trajectory of Confusion with perfect clarity, noting that Exeggutor was aiming straight for Dragonair's head.

"Dragonair, drop down! Skim the ground!"

"Draa!" Dragonair obeyed, instantly lowering itself and gliding along the ground toward Exeggutor.

Exeggutor and Gary looked montarily stunned as Dragonair deftly dodged Confusion.

Gary quickly recovered, though.

"Bullet Seed!"

The central head on Exeggutor opened its mouth, unleashing a rapid-fire volley of seeds aid at the approaching Dragonair.

This ti, Dragonair dodged on its own, weaving left and right as the seeds narrowly missed, kicking up small clouds of sand in its wake.

"So agile!" Gary muttered in awe.

The crowd murmured in amazent as well.

Despite its size, Dragonair moved with impressive grace—truly the power of a Dragonair.

Exeggutor continued its Seed Machine Gun, trying to keep Dragonair at bay, but the gap between them was already too small.

"Now, use Dragon Rage!" Luo Yuan called.

"Draa~!"

Dragonair ca to a sudden stop, hovering in place as it raised its head. A blue energy blast ford in its mouth, then shot out as a beam straight at Exeggutor.

Gary's face tensed. "Dodge! No, it's too fast! Brace for it, Exeggutor!"

Dragon Rage was faster than Gary had expected. With no ti to evade, Exeggutor could only take the hit.

Exeggutor hesitated but then, at the last second, reacted.

While Exeggutor was known for lacking limbs, in monts of crisis, it could wield its most adept move: Confusion.

Hummm

All three heads' eyes glowed blue as a Light Screen materialized in front of Exeggutor.

Crack!

Dragon Rage slamd into the Light Screen, causing it to shudder and crack.

Though strong, Exeggutor was clearly at a disadvantage compared to Luo Yuan's Dragonair. The Light Screen held only briefly before shattering.

Boom!

Dragon Rage struck Exeggutor directly, exploding on impact, and the battlefield was obscured by smoke.

"Did Dragonair win?"

"With Dragon Rage, Exeggutor should be able to withstand it."

"Not necessarily. It depends on how strong that Exeggutor is."

The spectators whispered, each guessing the outco.

But Luo Yuan, as a Psychic, could sense that Exeggutor hadn't been knocked out—it was still hanging on, and sothing was brewing.

A sea breeze blew, clearing the smoke, revealing Exeggutor with a slightly charred trunk.

"Still standing, huh?"

"Looks like it's got decent defenses."

"But even so, there's no way it can win against such a power difference."

Gary's situation looked bleak to the bystanders.

"Sunny Day?" Luo Yuan murmured, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"Exactly! My Exeggutor's ability... is Chlorophyll!" Gary announced, his expression triumphant.

He had picked this tactic up from his grandfather's notes, refining it through practice, all for a surprise just like this.

"Exeggutor, let's go!"

At Gary's command, Exeggutor lunged forward.

Chlorophyll was a common ability for Exeggutor, doubling its speed under intense sunlight.

In gas, this ant doubling its Speed stat.

Though it wasn't as precise in reality, Exeggutor's speed had increased significantly.

With Dragonair briefly caught off-guard, Exeggutor closed the gap in an instant.

"Power Whip!"

Two vines shot from the leaves atop Exeggutor's heads, striking toward the airborne Dragonair.

"Looks like you've learned a few things. It's faster, sure, but speed alone can't make up for the power difference."

"Dragonair!" Luo Yuan called.

Dragonair nimbly dodged Exeggutor's first Power Whip, weaving in the air. It heard Luo Yuan's voice and, without waiting for the vines to strike again, it twisted its body, and the orb at its neck began to glow.

In the next mont, clouds rolled in from nowhere, covering the sun.

In an instant, the bright sky turned cloudy.

"When it cos to weather control, Exeggutor still has a ways to go."

After all, Dragonair's weather-manipulating abilities were its specialty, well-docunted in the Pokédex.

With the sky darkened, Exeggutor's Chlorophyll ability deactivated, and its speed dropped dramatically, as if soone had pressed "slow-motion."

Thrown off by the abrupt shift, Exeggutor hesitated, visibly disoriented.

Taking advantage of this, Luo Yuan gave a swift command, "Dragonair, use Dragon Tail to finish it off!"

"Draaaa!"

With a high-pitched cry, Dragonair endured a grazing blow from Power Whip, then dove down from above.

"Exeggutor, dodge it!"

Gary called desperately.

But Exeggutor, still recovering from Dragon Rage and without its speed boost, was unable to move fast enough.

All three heads watched Dragonair approach, helpless. They exchanged one last, determined glance, ready to brace themselves.

But the difference in power was too great.

The blue barrier of Endure materialized around Exeggutor for a brief mont, but it shattered under the force of Dragonair's glowing white tail.

Wham!

Dragonair's Dragon Tail struck Exeggutor like a car at full speed, sending it flying.

Thud!

Exeggutor crashed into the ground, unable to get back up.

"Exeggutor is unable to battle!" the referee declared.

Exeggutor was down.

"So, what's your second Pokémon, Gary?"

Luo Yuan asked, patting Dragonair, which had glided back to his side.
