Selene POV
When I walked into my bedroom, I saw Kragen waiting for .
He was leaning against the wall, a quiet expression on his face. He was the person I wanted to see and at the sa ti, the last person I wanted to see too.
"Noah knew you were in my room last night!" I said quietly closing the door behind "I think we need to stop whatever it is that we’re doing. I understand that we agreed to figure things out but we could et in other places other than here. I wouldn’t want to fight with Noah over this."
"Werewolves!" he sighed under his breath pushing himself from the wall "You called for Selene, maybe next ti you have to be specific about where you want us to et."
"I called you?" It was my turn to be shocked "But I did nothing of that? If anything, I was just here..." I trailed off. When Noah was talking to before I must have thought about reaching him, but was that enough?
"Anyways!" I pushed the thoughts aside "I had a very strange vision today about my parents. This is the first ti, I’ve seen them in a dream or a vision since they died and I was going to dismiss it but it had felt so real. All the emotions I experienced in the vision, I felt them in real life. I don’t know if it ans anything though?"
"I’m not a big fan of visions, Selene," he said settling on the couch in the room. "Since the vision was not a warning, maybe you should just let it go. Visions are not exactly palatable. Most tis they expose the truth we’re not ready to know. Since it was not a warning vision, I think you should forget about it."
"I just told you, that I saw my parents. They were so sad in the vision and my mother was pregnant with a baby in that vision too. If I don’t try to find out what it ans, Kragen, I don’t think I’ll ever forgive myself."
"Seeing your parents crying in a dream and your mother pregnant ans nothing, Selene," Kragen snapped.
I paused realizing for the first ti that I hadn’t disclosed the details of the dream. How did he know it?
"I didn’t tell you what the dream was all about, Kragen. How..."
"I already explained to you several tis, and you, we’re both more connected to each other than you think. When sothing bothers you, I can feel it and how about we go see my dad today? He’s in your world, looking for . I think now is the perfect opportunity."
"Oh!" I was taken aback "That is sudden."
"Yeah!" he nodded "Co along, we don’t have all day." Without saying a word to , he walked towards the door.
We moved swiftly, my feet pounding against the dirt path as I and Kragen headed for the Pack’s periter. He seed angry about sothing and he was not talking to , unlike him. When we reached the outskirts of the pack’s territory, my breath was coming fast. I wanted to ask him, how much farther before we get to our destination but the long face he was wearing made it impossible for to talk to him.
Just as we were about to step into the forest, a blur of motions shot out from the trees. I barely had ti to react before a hand clamped onto my wrist spinning around.
It was Lucius.
Kragen didn’t act like anything out of the ordinary had happened. He turned and watched as Lucius tugged behind him, and faced him, a snarl on his face.
"What the hell do you think you’re doing?" he demanded, eyes blazing with intensity.
"Lucius, it’s not like that," I sighed "He’s not doing anything and we need to be sowhere. Just let go."
"Let you go?" Lucius scoffed "You barely just got ho and you’re already going elsewhere. Do you know how ..."
"I am going to return!" I interrupted him. "As you can see I am with Kragen, it’s not like I’m going on my own."
"Where are you people going then, does it have a na?" Lucius slamd "You’re not thinking straight and you shouldn’t be moving with him. Do you know what she just discovered this morning..."
"I don’t want to know and I sure as hell do not care. Now get out of the way, you’re already delaying us," I cried.
"Where are you taking her?" he asked Kragen who remained silently watching the whole thing with an amused smile on his face. "Fine, let’s all go together."
Before I could protest, Kurtis erged from the trees and spoke.
"You’re not going anywhere without us," he said, his voice laced with authority.
I groaned. "Guys, what are you doing? I don’t need a babysitting squad, I’m literally with Kragen can’t you see that."
"We do!" Kurtis said, "And that’s why we won’t let you go with him."
Kragen sighed "I didn’t want to do this, guys but you’re getting in the way." Before we could all realize what, he was doing, he flicked both of his hands at once to both n and two of them fell to the ground.
My eyes widened with shock as I stared at their bodies. "What did you do to them?" I asked, "Y-You didn’t kill them, did you?"
"Of course not," he sighed "I just made them fall asleep, now hurry along, let’s go!" he said stretching his hands towards . I took it and together we continued walking. I should be afraid, I kept telling myself but there was sothing about Kragen...
Sothing that made trust him. The trees were dense, and the path beca deeper as we went. I was burning to ask Kragen a lot of questions but from the way his face was set, he didn’t seem like he was in the mood. We pushed forward until Moon Whisper disappeared from us entirely.
The air suddenly started growing colder, and thicker, as though the woods themselves were alive, watching our every move. My heart pounded in my chest but I forced myself to stay calm. I didn’t want to think – Kragen could hear my thoughts.
"My father!" he said finally breaking the silence "We will et him any mont from now. That’s why there’s a change in the way you feel. Stay close to ."
I nodded and pressed closer to Kragen, holding the hem of his clothes. Suddenly, he stopped dread in his tracks, his body going rigid. "He’s here," he announced to , reaching for my hand and pulling to himself.
My senses flared to life. I could feel it too – a presence lurking just out of sight. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end as I scanned the shadows around us.
Kragen sighed, "I know you’re here, just co out already and let’s get this over and done with."
For a mont there was nothing but silence. Then a figure stepped out from the trees. It was a woman – tall, thin and draped in a cloak that seed to blend into the forest around her. Her silver hair shone under the dim light filtering through the canopy of tries. And her eyes were sharp and piercing. My breath caught in my throat.
"Aunt Helena?" I whispered.
