"That was intense," I whispered to Noah as soon as the hall emptied and it was just us with the Grand Lycan and Nora that was remaining. From the corner of my eyes, I saw the Grand Lycan making his way to us. He had a pleasant smile on his face.
"Your Majesty," I greeted him with a smile.
"Luna!" he nodded and turned to Noah "Thank you for giving the floor back there, it felt so refreshing,".
"Still Dad, you shouldn’t have gone too far and fired him. He was only looking out for his father. He’s one of the best we have in the pack and I will have to bring him back on. You should understand that doing this might make the people to be against us, especially with him. He’s the people’s favourite,".
"And he should be indispensable, Noah," the Grand Lycan shrugged without remorse "I’ve told you several tis that no one is indispensable in this pack. The elders and pack officials have served for decades but we cannot tolerate any weak links, corruption or anything that threatens the throne. As a king, you must learn to make difficult decisions and I hope you learn it with everything happening. Your Luna seems to know better, right?"

I turned to Noah "I think when choosing the cabinet mbers this ti around, you should work closely with the Grand Lycan and go with his recomndation he has been here longer, he knows who is who and most importantly what you need around you now are the most loyal and hardworking,".
"You could also recomnd so n? You’ve stayed a while in our pack so you can also you know make so suggestions," The Grand Lycan tried again.
"I’m sorry, Your Majesty but I’m such a poor judge of character and it’s not really in my jurisdiction. I’ve decided to perform duties within the Office of the Luna so there’ll be no clash and of course harmony between and Noah. Don’t worry, I trust your assessnts but if you want a third eye to check the selected candidates, I am always available. I’ll leave first. See you later, darling. As soon as I reached for the doorknob of my office, his scent wafted imdiately into my nostrils. It was Kragen. Unable to stop the joy I felt, I opened the door speedily and made a beeline for Kragen who was by the window side.
"Okay!" he chuckled holding awkwardly. This would be the first hug we’ll be sharing "That it easy there. Are you that excited to see ? I was gone for less than a week,".
"Felt like forever to , Kragen," I breathed shakily trying to fight back the wave of emotions that that pierced through my body. "These last few days have not been easy with . The Grand Lycan sent a fox disguised as Kurtis to , Xavier won’t take his calls and I don’t know how the girls are doing and I may have potentially inherited the worst set of people as enemies in Moon Whisper,".
"Those old, grizzly n? The Pack Elders and Officials?" Kragen arched his brow "Believe , you did well with that one. Even I didn’t see it coming. Besides, they were going to be in our way with the plan and all but thank you, Selene, for holding up. I know this is unexpected but you’ve done so well,".
"Thank you," I nodded. "So, is this like a pop-in and pop-out thingy or are you here permanently? Besides, I love this new body you borrowed. It’s so handso and beautiful... almost like my Xavier, I dare say and if not more. Where did you find him?"
Kragen chuckled, his eyes dancing with amusent "You’re one of the most complicated won I know, Selene and I wish I could get into that pretty head of yours. Do you still seriously love, Xavier? Between and you... just tell , I promise I’ll take the secret to the grave,".
"You’re the King of Death... you don’t die." I sighed. "I’m just worried that sothing’s happened. I am anxious about the girls being with Xavier and the whole saga with the New Coalition leader Jared. I don’t know if sending them with Xavier is the best idea. Then again, he could be planning to take them away from finally. The girls will love that you know. I am a bad mom... they don’t say it but I always see it in their eyes. "Don’t say that Selene," Kragen sighed "The girls love you and I’m sure there’s a reason why Xavier has been quiet. Don’t worry, after I’m done, I’ll go there myself and see how they’re faring, okay?"

Also, I ca to share with you so interesting facts. First, do not trust the Grand Lycan. He’s doing everything on purpose with you as aim but you’re smarter than all of them. He still has a lot of animosity about you, that’s the reason why Noah is still sceptical about his father. He knows that sothing is driving his father but the only reason why he looks paranoid is because he’s scared. The Grand Lycan is usually not the best of person to stay around if he gets out of control and I think Noah has witnessed it so many tis so he should know,".
"I understand the Grand Lycan has been trying to get under my skin, especially these few days but he’s not a threat to . It’s like I already anticipated it and I’m just going to humor him for a few more days and Noah is just being Noah. He and his father do not agree on a lot of things and this is one of them,".
"Okay!" Kragen sighed "It’s up to you but you should also watch out for Nora. You know she’s the orchestrator of the plan against your parents so few years ago and she got away with it. Not just that, she’s been getting away with a lot of things recently. I think it’s ti to keep her on a leash and make sure she doesn’t keep hurting people,".
"Yeah," I nodded "You know, I was going to inquire about her because she’s always hanging around Moon Whisper. She married an Alpha right and Xavier used to tell then that they were fated mate. Isn’t she no more with him?"
"They’re still married," Kragen scoffed "The point is, Nora is an unhappy person and staying with her might drag you into that web of sadness and loneliness. Her husband on the other hand is so different. He doesn’t give a shit about a lot of things, he still loves and respects his wife but she pushed him to his limits and now he spends his day and night, drinking and having fun with all kinds of won,".
"goddess! Are you serious?" My eyes widened with shock. "is she cool with it?"
"In the beginning she was always fighting and shouting, quarrelling but her husband will make a promise today and a few days later he’ll be with another woman. One of the things that broke her was Xavier’s illness. She wanted a perfect baby and when she didn’t get it on the first try, she vowed not to birth again,".
"But now, she just makes sure that the Alpha doesn’t co ho with a bastard and she’s quite good at that. Anyways, there’s sothing else I want to let you know so you can prepare your mind,".
"Go ahead!" I nodded.
"You’ll get arrested very soon and charged with treason. They’ll be a lot of evidence... hard core evidence and you can easily avoid this fate by not getting caught but you should let them,".
"Why would I want to do that?" I frowned at him.
"Because," he leaned closer and whispered sothing into my ear. My body tensed at the information as my gaze flew to his.
"There’s just no way," I argued. "Are you sure?"
