Selene POV
"Dad!" Noah suddenly screeched stopping his father mid-sentence and making everyone in the room turn to him with shock written all over their faces. It was so unlike Noah to be out of character whenever he was outside. "I an..." he ran a hand over his hair "Grand Lycan there is no need to contest whatever Luna Selene has presented to us, I have decided that the Office of the Luna will beco functional. She already has a Beta and just so you all can be at peace, I’ll keep an eye on her,".
I didn’t know between calling his father ’Dad’ or Noah approving my request without the opinions of the pack Elders and officials – which is more outrageous but I know for a fact that the second declaration by Noah wasn’t welcoming at all. If anything, they all turned to him as if he had suddenly developed another head. I could see the confusion in their eyes as they all stared at him.
"It is not for you to decide, Your Majesty," his father left his seat and started towards him "This is a delicate matter, you cannot simply grant it due to sentints. You cannot run a pack because of that. Besides...".
"Yes, I can, Grand Lycan," Noah threw himself to his full height easily towering over his father who was at least five or six inches shorter than him "I am the Lycan King of the Easter Region... I decide what goes and what cos. If my wife wants to help because she sees I have too much burden, how can I refuse her? You bunch sit in your houses all day, not caring how I fare waiting for to make the tiniest of mistakes so you can co drumming dead laws to ?"
"Noah!" his father growled piercing the already gloomy room with unbearable silence "Your wife should be more concerned with producing an heir for your Kingdom and not joining pack politics. It is not a woman’s feat. No one has said anything about her marrying with baggage since you love her and are convinced that she’s your mate... it’s been months since you married, shouldn’t you be more concerned that there is no child yet?"
Where I stood, it was as if so splashed cold water all over . I hadn’t anticipated that and I knew sohow that it was going to co up one of these days, I didn’t think it would be here... right now... in front of these vicious, old whims staring at with satisfaction on their faces and I knew Noah’s father had endured it so much for him to say such delicate thing here... it was so unlike him.
"How dare you father!" Noah’s voice reverberated through the room shaking it, his voice thickened and undoubtedly it was his wolf doing all the talking now. He was furious "How dare you talk about the My Luna in such a manner and before these people?" his hands swept the hall towards the elders.
Wait! Was he defending ? I didn’t expect that. Seeing that so much attention was on , I decided to be decent enough to act like I was hurt. I lowered my heart pretentiously, putting a hand over my eyes as if I were shielding them from seeing cry. Things were going much better than I expected.
"I did not an to say such words, Your Majesty," Noah’s father tried to say.
"Not another word from you," Noah fud through gritted teeth "This disrespect of my wife ends today. She will resu duties as Luna and be involved in whatever she wishes, if I as so much hear any word of complaint from anyone of you..." his gaze swept room, "It would be a direct disrespect to ," he paused and our gazes "If there’s nothing else, then this eting is over. You’re all dismissed,".
He brushed past his father and ca to where I stood, without saying a word to , he reached for my hands and practically dragged out of the hall. When we had walked a while, he let go of my hand and turned to .
"I’ve had enough of people today, I’ll be in my room," he said and gave a curt nod before he turned on his heels and left.

I stared with relish as the maids moved around Luna’s office, cleaning off dust, moving chairs and setting things in place. This was just a little beginning to all the great feats I would achieve and I wasn’t going to stop now, I would give my best in every single thing I do from now on and I have to be fast now, especially with the talks of producing an heir... sooner or later, Noah would remind .
I was so lost in thought that I didn’t see Kurtis creep up behind .
"Your Majesty," he called out behind making jump. When I turned, I sighed in relief when I saw it was a familiar face.
"Al...Kurtis!" I chuckled awkwardly noting that the maids working had all slowed down probably to listen to our conversation "I didn’t see you co up to . Is sothing wrong?" I asked.
"Yes," he nodded "Do you think you can spare a few minutes for a chat? There’s sothing I’d like to tell you,".
"Sure!" I nodded, "Give a mont and I shall be back,". I hurried back into the office and quickly appointed one of the maids as supervisor, giving a few instructions promising I would be back before I dashed out of the office again. Together, I and Kurtis walked in silence until we got to his office.
When we reached, I noticed he opened the door and ushered in but he didn’t co in behind , rather he hung at the door and nodded towards a silhouetted figure at the window. "He wants to talk to you, alone," he nodded towards the figure which was Xavier’s "I’ll be in my room,".
I nodded and waited for him to close the door before I turned to Xavier. "You wanted to see ?" I tried to sound as natural as I could at that mont. "IS sothing wrong?"
"Aside from your husband playing god over and maybe trying to put in my place... I am fine, don’t worry. I wanted to thank you for helping out and also apologize for what happened earlier. Lucius told and I now understand why he was so brutal to this morning. Anyways, I hope everything is fine on your end and uhm..." he trailed off "Can you do a favour?"
"I understand you’re very confused and surprised at Noah’s verdict today, he’s just hurt but be rest assured that he didn’t punish you because he saw us this morning. He gave his permission and that was why I was able to co to you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t dare and I would be glad to help you, Xavier. What do you want?"
"An audience with Noah," he said imdiately. "I do not need an hour. Only five minutes and I am good. Do you think you can put in a word for and try to convince him that we must et? This is important to , Selene... else I would not ask you. I need him to revoke my suspension. We all know that the Coalition will not be run by Beta Reid because he’ll be too busy and I am bold to say that if we allow Jared to take over... things will go out of place,".
I started at Xavier wondering if he was funny or truly ant what he was asking . "You can go by yourself, Xavier," I scoffed "He’s family... I’m sure he won’t put you behind bars if you do,".
"You don’t know him, Selene," Xavier sighed "Normally, I would have gone through my mother but with the way, he spoke to my grand-father; the grand Lycan whom he has so much respect for, I doubt he would pay attention to her. The only person he gives a fuck to at this mont is you. Kurtis needs to remain as Alpha for peace to reign... then all the resources and things are spent. Please... I beg you, Selene,".
"I am not his favourite at this mont, Xavier... more than anything, I don’t think he would want to hear speak today. I’m sorry but I cannot help you. Please...".
"You’re not doing it for , Selene..." he rolled his eyes "The girls will be coming to the pack soon, would you rest easy knowing that their lives might be at risk? C’mon, you can make this happen. You’re his wife... please?"
"Fine!" I sighed wondering why was accepting in the first place "I’ll try my best but no promises, okay?"
"That’s okay by ," he nodded "Thank you, I appreciate and you should probably not co to tonight. I’ll pull through another day at least until Noah arranges the venue,".
"Very thoughtful of you, thank you, Xavier," I said smiling at him.
