Andria’s POV
"I’ve not gotten any hair accessories," Allison murmured.
"Oh, yes. Quick, it’s twenty minutes left," I reminded them.
"Shoot, that’s true," Allison muttered.
We walked over to the hair accessories section and got scarves, hats, caps, pins, bands, rings, and ties.
"Your cart is colourful," Becca said, directing her gaze at Allison.
"As it should be," Allison replied.
"You are just as arrogant as your brother," I remarked, and we started laughing.
"As it should be," Allison replied, and we burst out laughing again.
Allison wasn’t pretending to be anything she wasn’t; she was free, boastful, caring, proud, arrogant, considerate, listening, carefree and sohow human, a part of her I didn’t know existed when she hung out with that bunch.
"You are staring, Ari," Allison said, waving her hands at , which called out of my thoughts.
"It’s twelve minutes remaining," I said, and we gathered our things, walking fast to the checkpoint.
Luckily for us, they hurriedly but accurately checked each of our items in less than eight minutes, and we rushed back to the bus.
So other students had already finished shopping and were seated.
The man in charge of packing our items helped put them in the bus trunk, with our na tag on our item bag.
"We finished on ti," we chorused, cheering ourselves by clapping each other’s hands in the air.
"I can’t wait to get ho and unpack," Becca squealed.
"That’s the fun part," Allison added.
"Liara and her friends wouldn’t like to co back because they would be heading straight to detention," Becca said, chuckling.
"I don’t think so. Alexa and Liara would be allowed to go back to their dormitories and prepare for prom.
Maybe after prom, which is two days from now, they will return to detention till we are dismissed for holidays, which should be one week after prom," Allison corrected.
"I stand corrected," Becca said, raising her hands in the air dramatically.
It was just two minutes left and almost all students were already seated except Arlo, Liara and her minions.
"What’s going on?" Becca asked, looking very disturbed.
"How do you an?" Allison asked.
"Liara and her underdogs aren’t back, and coincidentally, Arlo isn’t back, either, and it’s two minutes left," Becca complained, anxiety laced in her tone.
"He will soon be here. Nothing is wrong, Arlo can handle himself," Allison comforted her.
And just then, Arlo stepped in. "Goodness, you scared ," Becca said to Arlo as soon as he sat down, but Arlo didn’t reply to her.
"Ohh, that stings," Alexa said, stepping into the bus.
"I thought he was just fighting for her a few hours back," Tricia added.
"What happened to the knight in shining armor? Did he lose his armor?" Liara added.
And they all burst out laughing, taking their seats.
"Liara, you do know that’s a an thing to say. And that’s not your thing. Maybe soday, you would co back to your senses, but I hope it wouldn’t be too late," I shot at her.
"Oh, please, Ari, save the sermon. What are all these? Do you think you haven’t been so an? Acting all primand proper while you have dirty skeletons hidden in your cupboard," Liara fired back, waving her hands dismissively at , and Alexa and Tricia snapped their fingers in unison to that effect.
"How dramatic," Becca said aloud, rolling her eyes at them.
"It’s like they are naturally at war with peace and unity," Allison said to us aloud in a way they could hear it.
"What do you expect from embittered souls serving detention terms for their mischievous actions," I added.
"Ari, I dare you to say that one more ti," Liara voiced out. "And I promise to snap that little tongue of yours."
"Oh, there we go again...
"When will they stop fighting each other?...
Other students muttered, while so raised their phones to video the scene for the next news headline.
"First off, Liara, I wasn’t talking to you. You should learn manners and stop interfering in others ’ conversations," I retorted.
Allison, while Arlo pretended to be absent, and I watched Becca steal glances at his back. She looked very sad and disturbed.
I hope whatever is wrong between them can be sorted out, after all, they were friends even before they beca mates.
"But you were referring to her," Tricia said.
"Oh, does the shoe fit? Do you identify your character in our conversation? How shaless!" Allison scoffed.
Tricia got up imdiately and walked straight to Allison.
"Birds of a feather, they actually flock. Alexa fought during the ga night, frad all of us, and now Tricia wants to repeat the sa.
How did the last one go for you?" Allison said, looking directly at Tricia without even trying to get up.
"Damn you, Allison," Alexa bluffed.
"You are already damned, I promise," Allison laughed.
Liara was furious, but she tried so hard to hide her anger.
"Tricia, return to your seat, if you don’t want another kind of punishnt added to the one you already have," Sir Kaelric warned as he got into the bus.
I checked the ti, and it was already exactly one hour and thirty minutes.
Tricia returned reluctantly to her seat, still glaring at the three of us. We couldn’t help the laughter that crept up our throats, but we controlled it to a slight chuckle.
"Check for your seatmates, make sure no one is missing. We are about to head back to Ashwood," Sir Kaelric announced.
"Is anyone missing?"
"No, sir," everyone chorused.
"Student president," Sir Kaelric called.
"Yes, Sir," I replied.
"Confirm," he simply commanded.
I stood up and cross-checked, and no one was missing on the bus. But I silently wondered why Sir Kaelric had been so formal since the day of detention, yet he sent dirty texts last night.
"No one is missing," I swallowed as I rembered the taboo I had imagined last night as I touched myself.
But was it a taboo? They were my mates after all.
