Andria’s POV

"I know that, the moon goddess also knows that, but I always believed that there was a purpose for everythi..." he started, but I had to interject.

"Or it might just be my scent attracting a Dravari, like a Lunara-blooded she-wolf’s scent should. The false mate bond and all,"

He stared into my eyes for a while, my heart beating out of my chest.

"You have said that before, but you always seem to forget that I’m a Dravari; I can tell the difference between a false mate bond from the scent of a Lunara-blooded wolf and an actual mate bond," he said, bringing his face closer to my face.

"Deep down, and behind all those walls you have put up, you can’t deny the connection you feel between us anyti I’m close to you," he said, removing a strand of hair that had fallen in front of my eyes.

My breathing hitched when he sensually bit his lips, before straightening himself. "But like I said, not today, although your presence is so distracting, your scent too.

"Head over to the piles of books over there and start putting them into the place where they belong, clean the dusty ones and make sure that no book is misplaced. That’s your punishnt for today," he said, returning to his seat and to what he was previously reading.

I was once again stuck with my thoughts and the pile of work I had to do.

How could he switch from sensual to severe, from playful to instructional in seconds? I still can’t place him, and that’s what intrigues .

I worked over the pile of books, hoping another student would make a mistake, so that I wouldn’t have to do all this work alone.

From what I heard from other students’ side gossip and rumors concerning the detention room, the books are never arranged.

That ans even if I get to arrange all these books today, I’ll still co back tomorrow to et the books on the floor, piled up just the way I’m seeing them today.

It was an intentionally boring punishnt. How creative of them.

"You are just so unlucky to be the only one detained today, so you get to arrange those books carefully into the shelves alone, maybe next ti you stay out of them or out of trouble," he smirked.

Just then, the door opened, and Aven, Tristan and Damon walked in.

They walked in with huge smirks on their faces, but as soon as their eyes fell on Sir. Kaelric, their smirk faded.

Sir. Kaelric’s cunning smirk also faded the mont he looked up from his book. "What brought you to the detention room? Or did you co to save your damsel in distress?" Sir Kaelric blurted sarcastically.

The words coming out of his mouth sounded like venom, no sense of humor in it. How did he even think to refer to as a damsel in distress?.

"You aren’t supposed to be here. What had happened to Luna Hestrea?" Tristan asked, walking closer to Sir Kaelric’s desk.

"You haven’t answered my question yet. What brings you three to the detention room? Your mate or your misdeanor?" Sir Kaelric said, maintaining eye contact with Tristan.

"Trying to make enemies with the Alpha successors instead of an alliance isn’t a great political strategy," Aven stated, walking closer to where Tristan stood, in front of Sir Kaelric’s desk.

"And what makes you think that I care about politics? I only seek what’s right for the wolf kingdom; they can have any political head they desire," Sir Kaelric retorted.

"I ask again, what brings you three to the detention room? Your mate or your misdeanor?" He re-asked, this ti, raising his voice a little bit higher.

"Maybe you don’t know this, but the teachers wouldn’t send us to the detention room if we didn’t make sure of it. We get away with anything we do here in Ashwood, except we decide to face the consequences, and of course, we know what we can do and what we cannot do," Damon stated, joining Aven and Tristan.

"So to say that you are here for your damsel in distress and also for your misdeanor," Sir Kaelric nodded.

The room was growing increasingly tense with each passing second. Their aura clashed, and the room felt heavy.

I couldn’t help but recall the fight they had in the duel hall. I didn’t want to behold such a sight again.

"You know I’m not a damsel in distress, so why do you keep using that phrase? Do you just enjoy triggering ?" I butted in, which was out of my character, but I just wanted to let it out.

Their heads snapped towards together, and I quickly turned back to the books I was arranging, pretending not to have said a word, because I didn’t want to have any eye contact with them, and I just wanted to distract them from trying to fight themselves.

"You are supposed to focus on your punishnt, not eavesdropping or replying to any words that I said that were not referred to you. Even though I’m your mate, I’m still your superior in this academy," Sir Kaelric reprimanded.

Exactly what I have always thought. How can we work when he is the teacher and I’m the student? It’s so hard, but I couldn’t control my feromones or my wolf anyti that I’m near him or the Alpha successors.

"You three are to arrange the books in the other shelf, Damon, you will join Aria in arranging the books in the shelf she is currently working on," Sir Kaelric stated.

"One more thing, face your punishnt. I don’t want to notice you doing anything other than what you are assigned, or else you might be given sothing else to do."

A small laugh escaped Aven’s lips, "Just say that you want her all to yourself, but the moon goddess didn’t do that for you, and now you are bitching about it with a long face to her other mates."

"I know that you weren’t detained, but you three just wanted to co help her with her punishnt, so I would let you three just do that, if you don’t distract , or else, you can do it now, because I’m not planning on setting her free," Sir Kaelric maintained, ignoring Aven’s previous statent.

Aven looked at Tristan and then at Damon, and they left.

A few minutes later, Luna Caroline appeared in the detention room.
