Ethan shook his head. "We can’t fight the Emperor. Do you know the amount of power the Emperor commands? That’s equivalent to trying to fight the whole Empire!"

Julius scowled. "Of course we won’t be fighting the Emperor. Think, why doesn’t the Emperor just draft a decree and just arrest Severin? Eh? Why didn’t he just send his army and carry him away?"

"Even the Emperor can’t move like that without cause! If he should suddenly show interest in soone like Severin, then he would alert his own enemies.

"So the Emperor is likely using his agents to work in the dark for him. Also, there’s a possibility that it’s not the Emperor who’s behind it all."

Ethan frowned and didn’t look convinced. "I should have known I’m dead from the ti you blackmailed ."

Severin studied them.

Although they didn’t show it, he knew they aren’t planning to back out. They were simply that shocked. But still, he made a ntal note to himself to continue to keep an eye on them in that aspect.

"So... what are we going to do now?" Serena asked.

They looked at each other and then at Severin. They had already made the decision to follow him, although they never expected him to have that many enemies of such high caliber.

Julius adjusted his glasses. "I can use my family connection to keep an eye on the Head Instructor. No matter when you are ready to strike, you will be able to locate him."

Severin nodded. That would provide a lot of help. But, "If your family knows you are keeping an eye on him and then sothing happens to him, I don’t think they’ll stop at thinking of you as just a suspect."

Julius smiled. "I have my ways. Do you think it’s easy to keep my family out of my business all this ti while I am in the Academy? I will work towards it."

Ethan grimaced. "Eh... I think I can provide funding for anything you want to do. I don’t know if there’s anything you want to spend on."

Severin nodded. "That would co in handy."

"What are we supposed to do? I don’t have a family that will provide spies or money," Derrick said.

"Don’t worry. I think your muscles would be more than enough," Serena said.

Celia looked at them all curiously. "We still aren’t talking about how we would make it happen. I’m assuming that Darius Faulkner won’t be easily killed and he’s going to have a team on him as well."

Severin shrugged. "And yet, we still have to make it happen. The Isolde Dusk will help and we’ll also do our parts. But one thing that’s certain is that Darius Faulkner must go."

As the ti passed, Severin regained more and more of his health until he was able to move his muscles freely. They talked so more, but most of it was about the upcoming fight of the guardians. After all, they couldn’t do anything until they win for Miret.

anwhile, Severin’s eyes glead and he thought silently to himself. ’...I wonder how my plan is going? Maybe I won’t even have to make any moves...’

Kaelis Drev stood atop his stairs and bead at the guests that walked around his hall.

The light was warm and the music low. Servants carried trays filled with glasses of drinks and food.

Guests mingled and spoke with low voices, with the occasional loud voices rising here and there.

Kaelis watched with glowing eyes. Who would have thought his House, that was already about to fall into ruins—no, that was already in ruins—could be revived?

All from the generosity of his benefactor. But Kaelis wasn’t stupid. He knew such generosity cos with strings attached, and just the day before his grand ceremony to mark the revival of his House, a request ca in.

Kaelis’s family is a family of collectors. They like to collect things, from random useless artifacts to different monsters’ bones to even human bones. All of which they collected.

The request was very specific.

He should ntion the skeleton of a particular human beside an instructor of the Zenith Hero Academy. Although the instructor was impressive to be teaching in Zenith Hero, Kaelis still didn’t see anything special about her.

But he should ntion that the collectible skeleton is of high quality and collectors would be happy to have it. Also, that it would make a good gift to soone who is a collector.

And, to Kaelis’s surprise, just as the instructions said, the instructor would like to buy the bones from him.

At first, Kaelis should show great reluctance in selling it, but in the end, he should sell it for a high price for its ’quality’. Kaelis wasn’t one to let go of good money and he already took his eyes, and most of his eyes, away from the instructor.

It would be best if his secret benefactor remained that, a secret.

Miret t them later in the day. He brought food for them, but his expression was sour as he looked at them with gritted teeth. It’s not often that he’s usually forced into situations that aren’t under his control.

Now, he had to babysit a lot of children, and he couldn’t even kill them!

But then again, one of them was more than just a child.

Reignhart.

Miret has a long life, and there are rumors that he was before the creation of the Empire.

That would an years and years ago, when the world was destroyed and rebuilt.

If soone asked Miret, he would answer them by just shaking his head with his mysterious smile and say, "It’s not proper to ask ghosts their age."

But when he was alone, he would wear a solemn look.

Reignhart.

He had t a Reignhart before, and he carried the Dawn with him.

’...no... they’re different. So, so different. This Reignhart is like a snake with cold eyes. There’s no Dawn here. Just cold despair... this Reignhart would bring things... things that are not Dawn...’ Miret’s face beca solemn again.
