I stood outside, watching as the servants load my trunks inside the carriage. As the early sunrays filled the morning sky they painted the dew-treated ground with pale golden light. The air was fresh, having the distant chirping of birds amidst soft murmurs of the servants. It looked like it was going to be a beautiful day but I knew better than that.

The sound of each descending trunk punctured my heart as if they were steel nails driven deeper into my organs. This was real. This was happening, I was getting sent back. The more the servants load the trunk, the more I wished that soone would co out to stop all of this.

I turned to look at the window where Celeste’s bedroom was, where I knew Reagan was. When I had been escorted out this morning, the door to her room was opened and I saw Reagan shirtless sitting on the bed and Celeste was in a flimsy night gown, hugging him from behind. I didn’t know if the door was left open on purpose or not, but one thing was definitely clear whatever Reagan and I had, it was definitely over.

Turning away before the first tear could fall, I looked back at the carriage only to see that the servants had finished loading up my trunks. This was it then! I thought to myself as I drew in a deep breath, taking slow steps towards the carriage.

I t Heather at the entrance, her gray eyes were misty with tears as she stared at . "I really wish I could co with you my lady."

"I know." I stated grabbing a hold of her hand.

Sniffing, Heather gripped my hand tighter. "I will do anything I can to co visit you okay? I will speak to Sir Reagan, even Lady Marina if I have to, I’ll co and_"

"Actually Heather," I said cutting her off, "It is best if you don’t." I inford her to which her eyes widened at but that was the only explanation that I could give to her.

Without saying any other word, I climbed into the carriage with the help of the footn. I sat down still, keeping my head down and not looking up, not even when the carriage began to move. I folded my gloved hands on my laps, trying all my possible best not to cry.

I had wept all night and slept in my own tears. Heather had been horrified to see that morning but she had used makeup to cover the dark circles under my eye. So far, no one has yet to figure out what happened or that I was the black knight.

The only thing they knew was that Reagan and I had a fight and I found out from Heather that most people chucked it up to being upset about Celeste being pregnant and the reason why I was leaving ho was because I felt it would be better to be around my own family.

What a fucking joke! I snorted a little.

Family, I never had one! The only one I considered as family is Bjorn and Reagan, but now I guess I have lost that too! I thought to myself as I blinked away tears that threatened to fall.

The carriage wheels rolled over the uneven path, and I jolted at every little bump. My hands were clutched tight, fingers digging into the soft fabric of my gloves. I concentrated on breathing evenly, trying hard not to think about everything that happened. I just couldn’t because if I did, If I let myself crumble now, I might never put myself back together.

Gods, I wished I had so sort of distractions! I thought to myself as I heaved out a sigh when suddenly my eyes caught sothing that was beside on the seat, it was a book!

Tales of the isle of Eragon! The sa book I had been reading in the library and one that I had forgotten because of the whole issue with Lord Skarde and Reagan.

But sohow, it had found my way into the carriage. My fingers gently traced the cover, feeling the familiar ridges as I stared at the intricate writing of the title on the cover. Soone had placed it here on purpose, Heather maybe? But no, it couldn’t be! Then perhaps was it....Reagan!

His na echoed in my mind and I turned in my seat to look back the window but suddenly the carriage ca to a sudden halt causing to jolt forward in my seat. I looked around only to realize we stopped in the middle of nowhere.

I reached for the curtains of the window and the only thing I could see was just trees. This wasn’t my father’s estate, it was nowhere near it. Sothing didn’t feel right! I thought to myself as I pushed the door open.

The sun was already high up in the sky, it was noon already. Picking the edge of my skirts, I got down from the carriage and the first thing I noticed was how deadly quiet it was and the absence of guards too. I was completely and utterly alone!

Overhead I could hear the fluttering of birds in the trees, their distant calls breaking the eerie silence that surrounds . I walked slowly examining the thick forest that enclosed . Deep within , I knew there was no way this was random. I had deliberately been abandoned, but for what reason? I asked myself as I turned to look back at where the carriage was, the seat was vacant, no driver. No sign of footn, no sign of anyone!

My hand fisted the edge of my gown, sothing was definitely wrong! I thought to myself about to move when all of a sudden, I heard the whoosh of an arrow. A startled gasp escaped as I whirled around at the sound but it was too late.

The arrow found it’s target in the sleeve of my dress, pinning against the carriage. Grunting, I reached up to grab the arrow and free myself, but another arrow suddenly hit my other sleeves, so I had no other choice than to be pinned to the carriage.

I looked up only to see a group of n walking towards , each of them ard as they made their way towards . When they got closer to , they surrounded the carriage. I noticed each and every one of them was wearing a mask on their face, to protect their identity so there was no way of telling who they were.

A masked n stepped forward, cocking his head at , he spoke in a low gravely tone.

"Well, hello Princess!"
