DAHLIA POV

I stared down at Reagan’s wrist on my hand, then back up at him. He seems to realize what he must have done because he let go imdiately. He then straightened, staring down at with sothing between anger and concern.

"I was worried about you."

"You don’t need to be. I’m back here, am I not?"

Reagan’s brows furrowed. "Where did you go?"

"Sowhere that isn’t here," I reply, turning to look at Heather, who was standing behind Reagan. "What about Ivar?"

"Asleep, my lady," Heather whispers, unable to look at directly.

I nod anyway. "Good, I will be staying with him tonight."

"What?" Reagan demanded, but I wasn’t looking at him.

Heather had a pained look on her face. "Do you perhaps need any help moving_"

"No, I do not require any assistance." I cut her off, my tone sharp.

Heather’s eyes widen, and I almost feel bad for being strict with her, almost. But instead of apologizing, I turned and began to head to my room. Behind , I heard Reagan asking what had happened to , but no one could give him a response.

I guess Heather and Ivana were still feeling guilty and Celeste was probably hiding in her room after Ivana hurt her face. She has too much pride to show up with a bruise on her face. I may not see with the, eye to eye but that was the best thing Ivana has ever done.

It was well deserved.

I was just about to climb the stairs when all of a sudden, I heard Reagan’s voice again and I quickened my steps.

"Dahlia!"

Fuck, he was close!

I couldn’t talk to him, I couldn’t deal with him. I do not want to talk to him or anyone else for that matter. But there was no avoiding it, Reagan’s hand clamped around my wrist again. Instinctively, I yanked my wrist away from him as I whirled around.

"Don’t touch !" I snarled at him.

Reagan’s face is one of confusion as he stares at . He shook his head, taking a step back from so he could look at closely. "What’s wrong Dahlia?"

"What’s wrong? What’s wrong he asks?" I ask with a laugh that was full of scorn, "You ask what’s wrong but all you do is ever lie to . So how about you start with telling the truth Reagan?"

He looks even more confused, as if I had reached out and struck him right in the face. He stares up at , a pleading look in his eyes. "I have never once lied to you Dahlia, never have."

"Oh gods above." I groan in an exasperated manner. "You are still going to keep lying to , even now?"

"I have no idea what you are talking about." Reagan says his voice hurt.

I could see that people were already starting to approach us, including Adrianna and Miguel with Marina, each of them dressed in their night robes. Their curious, uneasy eyes darted between and Reagan, the air around us cackling with an obvious tension.

I clenched my fists at my side, taking in a deep breath as I decided to ask that question. "Why did you get married to ?"

"What?"

"Why did you get married to ?" I ask, louder this ti around.

"For fuck’s sake Dahlia, are you serious right now?" Reagan asks with a look of disbelief on my face. I say nothing and just continued to stare at him. "I got married to you because I love you Dahlia, is that what you want to hear?" He yells at .

I hear Marina draw in a sharp breath but my gaze was on Reagan. The tears that I thought I had run out of now clouded my vision as I stared down at Reagan.

Even now, he is still going to lie.

"Not quite." I answer his question, "You are lying. You don’t love . Never did."

Nikolai steps forward. "Okay look, I don’t know what’s going on here and it’s obvious Dahlia is probably going through sothing but one thing I can say is Reagan loves you. He really does, I an I though these past few months would have proved it all."

My gaze lands on Nikolai then I turn to Reagan. "So, you really expect to believe that you married for love?"

"I may not have had a choice then, but I do now. And that’s why I want to marry you again." Reagan takes a step towards , "For love."

I laugh shakily at him. "For love? I’m supposed to believe that the death of your father has nothing to do with it?"

At that mont, it was like sothing shatters inside of Reagan. The look on his face was one if surprise and betrayal. As if he was watching his whole world crumble in front of . His brows furrows as he stares at .

"Where did you hear that?" He asks and I laughed again.

"Perhaps when you are in one of your campaigns and a fair lady catches your eye, it would be best not to drink any wine that will cause you to spill secrets." I say before I bow at him. "Have a good night rest my lord."

With that, I turned on my heel and continued to climb up the stairs.

And this ti around, Reagan made no move to follow .

REAGAN POV

I watched as Dahlia walk away from , her hands were clenched tightly at her sides as she walked up the stairs. It was almost as if she was restraining herself from punching in the face. She was angry, I’ve seen Dahlia angry but this one, this one was different. There was pain in her voice and normally she would try to address it by yelling at but this ti around, she swallowed back her words.

She kept herself calm, even though her eyes were filled with so much rage she didn’t bother shouting at . Instead, she turned and walked away from . And that, terrified more than it should.

I whirled to look back and while everyone had a look of surprise on their faces, Heather and Ivana looked like two kids who had gotten caught stealing sweets from the kitchen. The look on their faces was one of pure guilt.

Sothing definitely happened and they know what it was.

"Start talking, now!"

Heather shared a look with Ivana who heaved out a sigh. "It’s Celeste, she told her everything."

I was confused. "Everything?"

"She knows Reagan, about it all." Ivana said still looking guilty.

My mind raced as I tried to search for the aning of what she said. Then all of a sudden it clicks, she knows!

The thing she had said about my father’s death, asking if I loved her. She knows and she thinks it’s true!

Fuck! My gaze snapped back to the stair case where she had disappeared too and before I knew it, my feet were flying up the stairs.

I could hear voices calling back but I didn’t listen. I raced up the stairs, down the corridors and went to the one room my heart sort out. I pushed it open, the lights from the hallway illuminating her bedroom that was covered in pitch black darkness.

She was curled on her bed, a relaxed look on her features, her golden hair fanned across the silk pillow. She was sleeping, sleeping after destroying my life. Rage coursed through my blood like a storm I couldn’t contain.

Jaw clenched tight, I walked towards her and yanked her up by her arm. Her blue eyes opened, filled with fear before they finally turned into relieve.

"My lord." She breathed out leaning towards my touch, "You finally ca for ."

Is she being serious right now? With a growl, I hurled her up from the bed and tossed her down to the ground.

Her face contorts into pain before she glared up at . "Ow, Reagan, what the hell?"

I unsheathed my sword and placed it on her neck, silencing her imdiately and just like that, the fear was back in her gaze.

"My...my...my lord."

"Reagan, what one earth do you think you are doing?"

I heard my mother ask but I didn’t respond nor did I look away from the cunning bitch in front of . She tried to move but I stopped her by pressing the sword closer to her neck.

"Hey brother, what on earth are you doing?" Nikolai asked .

"It’s her, it’s because of her." I answered still not looking away from her.

Celeste’s bottom lip now trembled in fear as she stared at . "Why are you doing this to ?"

"Talk, now!" I demand then lean closer towards her, "Or I swear you are going to bleed before you get a chance to spill another lie. Let that stick to your head before you spew out lies from your mouth. Now tell , what the fuck did you say to upset my wife?"
