Chapter 30: 24/7
The second reason he doesn’t want to give up any of his four Core tacs for the Danger Sense tac is that all four are important to him. Even the least important one, the Sword Heart tac, is far more useful to him than the Danger Sense tac.
From what he knows about the Danger Sense tac so far, it will help him avoid danger, and if he had it in his possession in the last tiline, it would have helped him to avoid being cheated by Tommy, the scummy chanic.
This is great and all, but he can’t value it much when he has the Rewind tac. It is true that he won’t be able to avoid danger with the Rewind tac, but it is also true that thanks to the Rewind tac, nothing can kill him permanently, and everything that fails to kill him will only make him stronger.
With all of these considerations in mind, he decided not to go after Slav for the ti being. But Slav didn’t know this. All Slav knew was that Loki was sohow willing to and capable of killing him despite the rules forbidding murder.
So Slav didn’t stick around after the awakening. The teenage boy ran away from the sect grounds as soon as he could. Loki watched him leave with slight amusent in his eyes.
----
Life returned to normal for Loki. As usual, he went to gamble, but he only earned 8,000 energy stones, so the Rein Family didn’t co after him.
Without anything to worry about, he went about his day like any other initiate. But he still managed to draw attention to himself, and it was not a good kind of attention, all because he didn’t pay much attention during their classes.
He couldn’t pay attention because he already knew everything that Muni was talking about. So what he used most of his ti to do was to cultivate.
He focused on cultivating his energy well personally, instead of using Cloudy Date tacs to cultivate it, because he wanted to train his energy manipulation skill.
He was willing to prioritize increasing his energy manipulation skill above increasing the cultivation of his energy chamber because he wasn’t lacking in energy, thanks to his other four energy chambers, and because he could inherit his energy manipulation skill after reversing ti, which is sothing he can’t do with the cultivation of his energy well.
With the goal of increasing his energy manipulation skill in mind, he also practiced using the Telekinesis tac. He used the Telekinesis to push, pull, levitate, and rotate objects of various sizes and shapes in the air.
He practiced with the Telekinesis tac because Muni had told him in the last tiline that practicing the manipulation of tacs was the most effective way to increase the skill of energy manipulation.
He was diligent about his quest to increase his energy manipulation skill and spent most of his awakened monts either cultivating or practicing. This caused him to expend a lot of ntal and internal energy.
Both cultivating and practicing cost a lot of ntal and internal energy to do for extended periods of ti. Fortunately, he was rich and could afford the cost.
The energy stones in his possession made up for his intense energy needs, while the purchase of the Concentration tac, a tac in the pathway of mind hunters, helped to restore his tired mind to its peak state by expending his internal energy.
The Concentration tac also used up his internal energy, but this wasn’t a problem because he could easily replenish his internal energy with energy stones. So the combination of the Concentration tac and a lot of money worked well to keep him in top state, both ntally and physically.
The combination worked so well that he didn’t need to sleep anymore. This was despite the fact that he had increased the number of tis he cultivated per day from two to three and was practicing energy manipulation in between the three sessions.
He was working hard all day, every day, for seven days in a row. This kind of dedication should be praised, but since Muni didn’t know what he was doing, the best that Loki could get out of Muni was being ignored.
Muni didn’t like that he was paying attention and was constantly using him as an example to warn the others not to be truants. But Muni didn’t punish him, which was enough for Loki.
----
Seven days of initiation went by like this. On the eighty day, Muni gave them their Core tacs. Loki had chosen the Telekinesis tac because he wanted everyone to think that was his only pathway in this tiline.
As for Slav, he picked the pathway of money. This was the sa decision he made in the previous tiline. It didn’t surprise Loki then, so it couldn’t surprise him now.
He just snorted and said with the best sarcasm that he could muster, "So the rich young master picks the pathway of money. How original. How unexpected. How surprising."
He said what he said out loud so that other people could hear him, especially Slav. So everyone turned to him with varying expressions of surprise and shock that he would make fun of the richest one among them.
Slav didn’t like what he said at all, even though he shouldn’t have any reason to be ashad. He just didn’t like the fact that Loki dared to make fun of him. So the look of excitent that he gained from receiving his Core tac quickly transford into a scowl, which made him look as if he had been forced to swallow sothing unpleasant.
He had it in mind to berate Loki and was not willing to hold back while doing so. Unfortunately, before he could say anything, Muni stepped up to interfere.
Muni already didn’t like Loki. So when Loki dared to create trouble in his class, he quickly beca angry.
He took the whip tied to his belt and struck Loki with it as he roared in anger, "Silence, you miscreant."
