Chapter 243 – INVITATION TO AN AWKWARD DINNER!
PRECAP
"Lana has said YES!"
And a heavy gasp passed out of Tin's mouth. She had no idea on what basis Lana had accepted Madison's hand in marriage yet if not love was the hardest thing to understand and the pain that co with loving a person…it all had been a very treacherous loop.
"They will be having a wedding before the operation privately…"
"Are we invited? "
Tinsley interrupted Kian right away. It just ca out of her mouth before even she could think it through.
And when Kian's reply did not co right away, her shoulders slumped down, all her excitent had slowly started to vanish away…
"Of course, they want you there…"
And it was him, at that mont lying to keep her happy. She got up overly excited and it made him look at her, thinking if he did a mistake by plainly lying about it.

The door opened and Kian yelled out a sweet, 'coming!', voice.
He dropped his apron on the kitchen counter, straightened his t-shirt and strode towards the living room entrance.
There stood Bethany and Tinsley, together. Both ca straight from the bakery as Kian had asked Drake to pick them up.
"Welco!"
Kian awkwardly said, not knowing what to say and what to say not.
"You guys get in, get comfortable, I will bring the snacks in."
That was all he said, before turning around and leaving again for the kitchen.
Bethany nodded at him and Tinsley led her inside. It was not like she had not visited this ho ever, she did and often she and Tinsley would share the pie made by Jessica.
On coming to the living room, before Tin could ask Beth to sit on the sofa, her eyes landed on the pillows and a blanket, that Kian used to sleep at night.
He must have forgotten to pick them up, so she did instead, a bit embarrassed that Beth had to see that.
"Excuse ! I will just keep these in the bedroom."
Tin said and it was only then, Kian noticed it. He cursed under his breath for forgetting that and hoped that it did not ruin the evening before it could start.
After collecting the pillows and the blanket, Tinsley went inside the bedroom to keep them on her bed for the ti being.
She put her pillows aside to adjust his and in ca Kian too. She tilted her neck to see him, holding his clothes. She had missed seeing them lying on the couch near the sofa.
"Where do I keep these??"
He asked and Tinsley could not co up with any solution right away.
"Hmm…I really forgot to tidy up the living room."
He scratched the back of his neck, flustered for forgetting such a thing upon inviting a guest for dinner.
"Give them to !"
She took the clothes from his hold and ushered him out of the bedroom. Before he could say sothing, she closed the door on his face and he turned around to see Beth awkwardly glancing at him.
So to say, there was no denying Beth did not know in what kind of a situation those two were.
"I…uhh…will get the snacks and tea!"
He mumbled softly and went towards the kitchen. Beth sighed thinking what an awkward dinner, this was going to be.
anwhile, inside, Tinsley was having a hard ti thinking about where to keep his clothes in her very occupied small bedroom.
She walked up to the cupboard and put them inside, not carrying to fold the clothes or anything like that.
She licked her lips and went to the washroom to get freshened. She washed her face and sat on the toilet to pee when she rembered what she had seen him doing here.
She closed her eyes and tried to stop thinking about it. It was not just once but so many tis, she had heard him…his uneven breathing, his deep groans…the way he would look at her, run his eyes up and down her body.
Lately, it had been hard to live together just like that. She had been not able to even let herself off for she he was right next door, sleeping on the sofa in the living room.
Her pregnant horny hormones were not helping her either. Most of the ti, he would roam around the small house, bare and shirtless, exposing his manly body to her lewd eyes.
She inhaled and exhaled for a short period, trying to calm her hormones down and then got out to be with Bethany.
"Where were you, woman?"
Beth questioned, smiling and patting her spot beside the sofa to co and sit. Tinsley nodded and sat beside her.
Kian took that very mont and ca with the hand-baked brownie and lemon tea. He kept the tray on the wooden table.
"I like brownies!"
Beth let out, and very excitedly picked one piece up. Tinsley followed her too. Kian stood by, watching both the won eat, waiting for their complints expectantly.
"Ever since, my pregnancy, I just love baked things so much!!"
Beth exclaid and popped another inside her mouth. Tinsley smiled at her and so did Kian. He was glad that at least she liked it.
"Why are you not eating?"
Beth implored when she saw Kian standing and not even sitting beside them or eating anything at all.
"I m here to only serve you both, I guess?"
He replied, not sure about his position at the mont. Tinsley kept stealing glances of him from second to second.
"Oh common!! Drop it. I do not want this dinner to be as awkward as it is already…co sit and we talk. There is still ti for dimr."
Beth pressed and Kian looked over at Tinsley, thinking what she might feel about him sitting and conversing with her friend.
No way, did he want to make her feel threatened. He had talked with Beth in that day and he could tell that she was an easy-going open woman.
All he wanted from this dinner was to prove that he cared about Tin's friends too. He just wanted to make her feel not trapped with him anymore.
"Co…co sit!!"
Beth pointed towards the couch and he finally gave in. Tinsley did not say a word and kept mum, eating the piece of brownie.
"It had been ages since I got invited to a dinner."
Beth mumbled, sipping her cup of lemon tea. Both Tinsley and he look up to her.
"Don't you have any family or friends other than Tin?"
Kian implored and Beth gave him a sweet smile. She dropped the cup on the table and started to speak, knowing this duo was not going to do so considering the situation and circumstance they were in. It was just hard to be civilized.
"I had ever known who my father is or was. I only had my mother who died of the pressure stroke and then it was just after that…"
Beth stated and it sowhere made Tinsley to think about her past, a few months ago before being married, how she had lost both her parents too.
How she had turned to be an orphan and was lost, not entitled to anything at all.
And how after so many tortures from that bastard Josh, her way had been entangled with him…she looked up in his direction, her husband.
"I was in a relationship with a man for more than five years. It was intense and we were really committed. He was the only family after my mother's death and he was all I had…"
Beth continued after sipping more of her tea from the white clay cup. Tinsley could tell from the way the story was being narrated that things were not going to end quite well.
Beth had always avoided telling her past to Tinsley and she never forced it either knowing Tinsley, herself was not ready to share her past or reveal her true identity to anyone at that mont.
"But things, as they say, do not always remain the sa. When he lost his job, things changed and there was a big flood of problems in our way. He started to see as a burden and to sum it up, I lived two out of five years in an abusive relationship thinking he would change soday….as he would always apologize later and say he would.
He would promise but naive took a while to understand that his promises were fake and empty. They hold no value of his words and it was hard at first to think or even do it…but I did it. "
She looked up at both Tinsley and Kian, who were quietly listening to her, not daring to utter out one word or two.
"…I left him and for days, I thought I did a mistake but not anymore…not now!"
Beth completed, petting her bulged out belly, lovingly.
