God-Emperor Extinction smiled faintly, pulling up the Virtual Universe’s managent interface to begin his modifications.
As the chief examiner, his authority was restricted; he couldn't blatantly help anyone cheat. Previously, he had only intended to play in the gray areas.
However, things were different now. He planned to pull a Peak World Lord Class Secret Realm from the Virtual Universe’s entire stock of replicas and place it directly in Lance’s vicinity.
This wasn't exactly cheating. After all, if he did this to anyone else, it wouldn't be a helping hand—it would be a death sentence.
But Lance, with his Tier 12 array-crafting capabilities, was a different story.
Once the array was fully established, it would be a total massacre.
To lure even more people toward Lance, he even tweaked so of the Secret Realm’s settings!
"There! That should do it. I'll set it to trigger once the Grandmaster’s array is finished. Perfect!!"
God-Emperor Extinction nodded with imnse satisfaction as he admired his handiwork.
……………………
……………………
anwhile, in the physical world.
At the border of the Sentient Races, a terrifying, blood-red barrier enveloped the heavens and the earth, stretching toward the very edge of the universe.
On a boundless continent at the edge of the Sky-Cloud Clan’s territory, countless living beings were currently deep in slumber. These were the participants who had entered the Virtual Universe and had not yet been eliminated.
The people who had already woken up were busy at work.
This place served as an entrance to the Sky Demons' domain. Here, countless galactic experts entered the Sky Demons' domain through an ancient gateway left behind eons ago.
Entering the Sky Demons' domain was no vacation; they went there to slaughter the endless hordes of Sky Demons.
While the strength of the Sky Demons was terrifying, they were walking treasure troves. Their flesh was so pure it could be consud directly, and their wings could be forged into powerful flying weapons.
Their flight speed surpassed almost all other flying weapons of the sa grade.
Beyond that, there were the Sky Demon Void Cores.
These cores contained incredibly pure Battle Aura.
This Battle Aura was far easier to absorb than ordinary Flesh and Blood Essence.
Because of this, the price of Sky Demon corpses remained consistently high, and the Virtual Universe offered significant monetary bonuses for recycling them.
Consequently, the number of people coming here to hunt Sky Demons was staggering.
These teleportation arrays were designed to send a person anywhere within the Sky Demons' domain.
According to the estimates of the Supre Divinities, the grade of this array reached at least Tier 17.
In the entire universe, no one except the Supre God of Ruin knew who had constructed it.
Because of this, an entire industry revolving around hunting Sky Demons had flourished in the universe.
As long as you brought back a corpse, the transaction would be completed in seconds—you got your money and left!
This continent served as a massive gathering point for these Sky Demon hunters.
The continent spanned a staggering ten billion light-years in diater and was overseen by powerful Immortal Realm experts.
Continents like this were scattered in countless numbers around the periter of the Sky Demons' domain.
Their purpose wasn't just to transport hunters into the fray; they also served as a defensive line to prevent Sky Demons from escaping.
If a Sky Demon managed to break out, they would be executed within a short ti.
As for why they could escape at all, that was due to a flaw in the array.
Although it was a powerful Tier 17 array, it had to cover an area the size of the entire Ancient Universe.
Therefore, its energy distribution couldn't be perfectly uniform.
So areas were incredibly strong, while others were relatively weak.
Of course, even the weakest point could not be breached by anyone below the level of a Supre Divinity.
However, the Supre Divinities within could not escape. The mont the array detected a Supre Divinity attempting to leave, the guardian array would instantly maximize its defenses at every point, becoming an unbreakable wall.
Furthermore, every weak point was guarded by one of these massive continents.
Thus, whenever a Sky Demon escaped, a Supre Divinity would never be found nearby. Those who made it out were all Immortal Class experts because the Supre Divinities would seal their full-strength strikes into talismans and give them to their subordinates.
Upon reaching the exit, the seal would be released, and the attack would blast a hole through the Sky-Seal Array that shrouded the Sky Demons' domain.
Only then could these Immortal Class experts escape.
However, these Sky Demon experts never survived their excursions. Every ti they broke out, it was for a single reason: a super-genius had appeared among the Human Race, and they were there to eliminate them.
Historically, any genius who comprehended Supre Elents would be hunted!
Whether they lived or died depended entirely on luck and the strength of their backing.
If they were lucky, a Supre Divinity would protect them the mont they erged, allowing them to escape death. If they were unlucky and got found, only death awaited.
Of course, so monstrous geniuses with terrifying talent for cultivation and combat were also targeted.
It could be said that out of ten geniuses hunted, only three would survive.
The only exceptions were the disciples of the Supre God of Ruin. Whenever he took a new disciple, he kept them by his side to personally instruct them.
When they went out for experience, their seniors were dispatched to protect them from the shadows.
Anyone who ca to kill a disciple of the Supre God of Ruin almost invariably t a grueso end.
There was only one successful assassination in history.
But the price of that success was horrific.
God-Emperor Extinction had led several of his senior brothers into the Sky Demons' domain, slaughtering hundreds of the enemy's Immortal Class experts.
The Supre Divinities of the Celestial Fiends didn't dare to lift a finger because the Supre God of Ruin was protecting his disciples from the shadows.
One Sky Demon Supre Divinity, failing to notice the Supre God of Ruin, tried to strike down Extinction and his brothers. In the end, he paid for that mistake with his life.
The other Sky Demon Supre Divinities cowered instantly. The Celestial Fiends once had a Supre God of Ruin of their own, but that was in the distant past.
Eons ago, when the Celestial Fiends first arrived, their Supre God of Ruin and dozens of Supre Divinities attacked the Paramount God of Death alone. Every single one of them was slaughtered by him.
Afterward, the Paramount God of Death and the Supre God of Ruin laid down the Sky-Seal Array together. In reality, he had rely borrowed Ruin’s power; he had perford the feat almost entirely on his own.
That mighty array locked the entire Celestial Fiend race within the Ancient Universe.
He even began compressing the array, intending to seal the Celestial Fiends along with the Ancient Universe itself.
The terrifying power was so great that even Supre Divinities were heavily injured just by touching the barrier.
Such overwhelming strength terrified the Celestial Fiends. They mobilized their entire race—over two thousand Supre Divinities—to forcefully punch a small gap in the array and launch a simultaneous attack on the Paramount God of Death. Only then did they manage to completely erase him.
They nearly wiped his very existence from history.
Unfortunately for them, before he died, the Paramount God of Death killed over a thousand Supre Divinities in a final counterattack.
The survivors were left heavily wounded, crawling back into the depths of the Sky Demons' domain, where it took an eternity for them to recover.
By the ti they had healed, the Sentient Races, the Void Beasts, and the later-erging Machina had already beco formidable powers.
The Celestial Fiends were no longer a match for them.
Of course, because the Paramount God of Death’s existence had been so thoroughly erased, even the Celestial Fiends didn't know exactly who had killed them.
They only rembered that the individual had been closely related to the Supre God of Ruin and was a Paramount God of Death.
This was the primary reason why they imdiately dispatched a massive force to kill anyone the mont they heard soone had comprehended the Power of Death.
Furthermore, although the Celestial Fiends had recovered to a level of over two thousand Supre Divinities after eons of rest, as long as the Supre God of Ruin remained alive, they would never dare erge from the Ancient Universe to attack the Outer Universe!
"God dammit! Soone can actually pilot a Tier 12 ship? Isn't that just cheating?!"
Suddenly, on Hunter’s Continent, a Peak Universal Class cultivator jolted awake, cursing loudly.
Fuming with rage, he grumbled as he stepped out of his cultivation pod.
The people nearby, who had also just erged from their pods, burst into laughter upon hearing his outburst.
"Hahaha! Baron, even if you were eliminated, there’s no need to be that angry. Did you really think you’d make it to the second round?"
"Exactly. Just get back to work and hunt so Sky Demons. Stop dreaming. Maybe they found an inheritance? If you get an inheritance, you can pilot the ships in those Secret Realms within the Virtual Universe!"
"Yeah, just focus on the hunt. By the way, I heard the price of Sky Demons went up again. Wonder what’s going on."
"Supposedly, the Celestial Fiends have been restless lately. Are they finally planning a large-scale assault on the Outer Universe?"
The surrounding Sky Demon hunters began to discuss the situation with grim expressions.
While a price hike for Sky Demons was good for business, a galactic war breaking out while they were still alive was no laughing matter. Once a war of that scale erupted, countless lives would be snuffed out.
People like them—decently strong but without powerful backgrounds—would easily perish in a Universal Class conflict.
"While the Sky-Seal Array can still hold them, we should go kill as many as we can!"
Regaining his composure, Baron spoke with a sigh. "That way, we can at least lessen the pressure for ourselves or our descendants in the future."
"Alright, let's go together!!"
"Move, move! I’m right on the verge of breaking through to the Domain Lord Realm. If I can kill a few dozen Universal Class Sky Demons this ti, the resources I trade them for should be enough to construct my Domain!"
"I'm in the sa boat, haha! Let's go. Ti to kill so Sky Demons!"
At Baron's words, the group of hunters laughed and began flying toward the teleportation array.
Along the way, they discussed the geniuses they had heard about during the Genius Trials.
Among them, Lance’s na was frequently ntioned. After all, he was the rank one on the Leaderboard, a terrifying talent who surpassed the rank two by an astronomical margin. Everyone was curious about him.
"Wait... look! What’s happening over at the Sky-Seal Array?! Holy sht, that’s an Immortal Class Sky Demon!!"
Suddenly, a Universal Class cultivator cried out in shock, pointing toward the distant, sky-shrouding curtain of the Sky-Seal Array.
His words caused everyone who had just erged from the Virtual Universe to turn pale. They scrambled to look in that direction.
That single glance left them white-faced with horror. Tens of thousands of light-years away, on the other side of the massive light screen, a colossal Sky Demon—towering thousands of light-years high—was pulling back its right fist, gathering terrifying montum.
The blood-red leathery wings on its back were large enough to completely shroud an entire continent.
A world-destroying force radiated directly through the Sky-Seal Array.
"This is bad... that Immortal Class Sky Demon is trying to break out!" Baron shouted, his face ashen.
At his words, everyone’s expression shifted drastically.
They all turned and fled in terror, realizing they were far too close.
"ROAR!!!!"
The next mont, a terrifying roar shook the infinite star sectors. The Immortal Realm Sky Demon moved. It slamd its fist violently against the light curtain of the Sky-Seal Array.
BOOM!!!!
Accompanied by a world-shaking explosion, a massive breach was blasted through the light screen.
The weaker cultivators tens of thousands of light-years away were instantly vaporized by the sheer force of the sound, turning into clouds of blood mist.
Only those at the Universal Class or higher barely managed to survive.
And that was just the shockwave of the sound!
After that single punch, the entire right side of the Immortal Class Sky Demon’s body had vanished into nothingness.
That level of power was simply beyond its control; it had to sacrifice half its body and soul just to withstand the recoil.
Ignoring its injuries, the Immortal Class Sky Demon squeezed through the shattered barrier.
In the distance, the terrified World Lords, God-Kings, and even Eternal Class experts were horrified to see the Sky Demon's missing arm regenerating at an incredible speed. At this rate, it would be fully restored in just a few days.
They all knew that Celestial Fiends frequently sacrificed themselves, and they could slowly repair their sacrificed flesh and souls afterward.
But such recovery usually took an imnse amount of ti.
They had never heard of a recovery that took only days. Generally, the stronger the individual, the longer the recovery period.
The only explanation was that the creature had prepared a massive amount of Essence of Constitution beforehand.
And a massive amount of Essence of Constitution ant that this Immortal Class expert had slaughtered four or five others of the sa rank just to store their essence within its own body for this escape!
"He sucked in a sharp breath! What kind of genius is he hunting that he’d discard the lives of four or five Immortals just for the preparation?!"
At that mont, everyone was utterly stunned.
Generally speaking, the odds of the number one genius of a Supre God-Realm—or even the strongest God-King—eventually reaching the Immortal Class were minuscule.
Targeting anyone of a lower level was even less logical. It was like detonating tons of explosives to destroy your own house just to make sure an ant in the yard didn't grow into a slightly larger ant.
The high-ranking leadership of the Celestial Fiends weren't fools.
Because of this, the Celestial Fiends hadn't even attempted an assassination during previous Genius Trials, even when a "once in a trillion years" genius was discovered.
This ant that a super-genius had appeared in the universe who commanded unprecedented attention from the Celestial Fiends!
Whoever it was, if such a genius were killed, it would be an absolute loss for the entire Outer Universe. This was especially true now, with the Celestial Fiend army seemingly on the verge of invasion; such a peerless genius was a treasure to every race.
"Hmph!!!!"
Suddenly, a cold snort erupted from the depths of Hunter’s Continent. A terrifying aura expanded from the land, instantly reaching its peak.
Then, a Crimson Nimbus that blotted out the sky streaked across the abyss, hurtling toward the Immortal Class Sky Demon.
It moved with such speed that it traversed tens of thousands of light-years in an instant.
The boundless Crimson Nimbus finally converged into a red-robed youth wielding a longsword!
"It’s the High Guardian of our Hunter’s Continent—the Crimson Nimbus God-Emperor! He’s a super-expert of the Sky-Cloud Clan!"
"I wonder if the Crimson Nimbus God-Emperor can kill that Sky Demon!"
"I don't know... it looks grim. I heard he only beca an Immortal Class expert thirty trillion years ago. He’s still considered very young among Immortals!"
"He doesn't need to win. He just needs to hold on for a while until the other experts of the Sentient Races arrive!"
