"Oh, co on," Mary says. "Have you not seen enough Stargate episodes? A small team that is well prepared and properly ard stands a better chance of getting on board and taking over the bridge. Surprise, coordination, speed. It is not about brute force."

"Were you not the one who just used Doom as a bad example for why that would not work?" I ask.

At least she has the decency to look embarrassed, her cheeks flushing slightly.

"We will have weapons," Stacy says, her voice firm. "And we can use those light suits my sister told us about for protection. They enhance strength and resilience. We will not be going in unprotected."

"Those suits have not helped very much in the past against the demons," I point out.

The mory of previous encounters rises uninvited in my mind. I rember the way the fabric had scorched under infernal heat, the way the force of demonic strikes had still rattled bones beneath reinforced layers. Tho, the suit provides protection, but it does not make you Invincible, not even close.

"Leslie," Stephanie says, and truthfully that seems to be answer enough. Apparently she has figured out a way to make them more protective as well. Once again, I am glad the Asian woman is on our team.

There is a quiet confidence that follows Leslie’s na now. Over the past few days she has beco a force in her own right, moving through alien technology with unsettling ease. If anyone could squeeze more efficiency out of those suits, it would be her. That fact both reassures and unsettles , because it makes their plan feel more real.

"Well," I say, trying to co up with sothing to change their minds, "I cannot make you martial arts specialists with my switches. There is no switch for becoming a kung fu master."

I wish there were. I wish there were a simple toggle labeled mastery, sothing clean and instant that would eliminate risk. Instead, everything I can do requires nuance, adjustnt, and ti. Things we do not have.

Mary laughs, and I turn back to her.

Her laughter is light, but there is steel underneath it. She is not dismissing the danger. She is dismissing my attempt to shield them with logic.

"Stephanie told us that you made her smarter and strengthened her mory before one of her finals. All you have to do is increase our muscle mory and agility, and we will be fine. Those nanites should do the rest, especially with training from Leslie."

She says it as if it is obvious. As if the path from theory to survival is a straight line.

I really have no answer for that. They are right. It could work, and with Leslie helping, I have no doubt she could guide them to the bridge. My heart sinks at the thought of them in danger. The image of them surrounded by demons flashes through my mind, and it makes my stomach twist. I imagine claws and fire and the sll of smoke, and I have to swallow hard to keep my composure.

"Give up, brother. You will not win this." Sohow I am not surprised that Loveth is watching this.

"But it will be dangerous," I say weakly, still not wanting to relent.

"Is it any more dangerous than being down here if a ship makes it past you?" Stephanie asks, and I drop my head in defeat. Yes, I could use a switch to make them change their minds, but I will not. This is their choice, and they are doing what they can to help. What right do I have to deny them that?

The question lingers between us. There is no good answer. Control is easy when you are alone. It is far harder when the people you love refuse to be controlled.

Stephanie’s fingers slide under my chin and lift my gaze to et hers.

Her touch is gentle, but it steadies more than she realizes.

"Thank you," she says softly, knowing she has won.

There is no triumph in her voice. Only relief.

Her lips brush mine, and then she is hugging tightly. A mont later, all of them are hugging .

The warmth of their bodies surrounds . For a brief mont, the looming invasion, the alien ships, and the weight of impending war fade into the background. There is only this closeness. This fragile human comfort.

I have never known three people who were so willing to put themselves in harm’s way. Honestly, I wish I could get out of it myself, but as I have already thought nurous tis since I learned about Earth’s impending fate, duty is heavy as a mountain, and death is light as a feather.

The phrase has beco a quiet mantra in my mind. It follows into sleep and into waking. It reminds that running is not an option.

I am far too young to die, and thinking about the three won with their arms around , I feel too lucky.

Lucky to be loved like this, lucky to be trusted, and lucky to have sothing worth fighting for.

Stephanie is the last to pull away from , and her blue eyes are nearly dancing with joy.

That joy scares a little. It ans she believes in this plan completely.

"I know this is not easy for you, but thank you." Her lips press to mine as she kisses passionately.

Her kiss carries gratitude and promise.

I am breathless by the ti she pulls away, and before I can take in a full breath, Stacy is kissing . I swear I am turning blue by the ti she pulls back with a whispered, "Thank you."

Stacy’s kiss is different, playful but sincere, her hands gripping my shoulders as if to anchor herself in the decision she has made.

Thankfully, Mary does not imdiately kiss , and I am able to take in a couple of deep breaths.

My lungs burn slightly, and I laugh under my breath at the absurdity of nearly suffocating from gratitude.

"Aren’t you thankful, Mary?" Stephanie asks, and I can hear the smile in her tone. I have just enough ti to look from my grinning girlfriend to a suddenly squealing Mary before her lips press to mine and she kisses enthusiastically.

Mary’s enthusiasm is impossible to ignore. There is warmth and boldness in the way she moves, as if she refuses to hold anything back.

After a mont, Stephanie speaks up.

"Okay, that is enough gratitude," she says, and Mary pulls away with a sheepish grin on her pretty face.

"Oh, don’t pout," Stephanie tells the other woman, "You can help suck his dick."

Mary squeals in delight again, while Stephanie begins undoing my pants.

The shift from strategy and war to closeness feels abrupt, but perhaps that is the point. Perhaps this is their way of reminding what we are all in this together.

Flashes of my earlier dream about not being able to respond run through my mind, but I force them aside. The fear from that nightmare tries to creep back in, whispering doubts about weakness and failure, but I refuse to give it space and shove it to the side.

With these hot beautiful won close to , and I can see Stacy beginning to undress as well, I have no doubt that my body will respond soon enough....

Sure enough, as soon as my mber is free, Stephanie swallows the engorged head between her lips, making moan. Mary’s lips start to work on my scrotum, and I place my hands on the backs of their heads.

"Why did you change your mind about Mary?" I ntally ask Stephanie.

Her answer takes a while to co, and I just enjoy the sensations the two won are giving . In fact, Stacy’s feet are planted on both sides of , and her fragrant cunt is on my lips before her answer arrives.

"Because you’ve been so good to , and I know I can trust you. You have a lot on your shoulders, and I’m more than happy to offer whatever distractions I can."

How did I ever get so lucky? I wonder as I continue to moan into my girlfriend’s twin sister’s cunt.

"I hope you know I love you," I tell her in response to her answer.

"Gee, what took you so long?" She must have felt stiffen—well, more than my mber at least—as she continues, "You were broadcasting again the other day."

"Wha—damn it!" I think. Why can’t I seem to keep my mind in my own head?

"Well, that’s one way to ruin the mont..."

Stephanie starts laughing so hard she has to pull away from my phallus. Mary imdiately replaces her, and I have to admit that she knows how to give good head.

I try to send my disgruntlent to Stephanie, but she only laughs harder.

"You’re the only man I know who can be getting head from two won while sucking on my sister’s clit and still be upset about telling you love !" my girlfriend exclaims, and this ti I have to laugh as well. She really does have a point.
