Chapter 429: Chapter 429: She is Thinking About Their Future
Shen Zhao paused montarily before shaking his head, “I’m not unhappy.”
She was simply pondering life seriously.
Having been in a slump for nearly twenty years, she still didn’t know what her future should look like.
“Shen Zhaozhao, how long have we known each other?” Sheng Chuyi asked.
“Naturally, as old as you are, that’s how long we’ve known each other.” What was the point of asking such a question?
Sheng Chuyi replied, “So you think I can’t even tell whether you’re happy or not?” If that were the case, he would be failing terribly as a boyfriend.
“I was wrong about before. I shouldn’t have neglected you because I was busy with the project. From now on, if you’re unhappy, just tell directly. Also, you’re not allowed to do dangerous things anymore!” He didn’t want to hear about her getting hurt or being in danger again.
Shen Zhaozhao looked up into his eyes, “I an it, I really am not unhappy, and I’m not mad at you.” Even if she were angry, she would be angry at herself.
“I’m just thinking about so things.”
“About what?” Sheng Chuyi asked.
She was thinking about their future, about their lives together.
Unfortunately, despite thinking for so many days, she still couldn’t figure anything out.
Shen Zhaozhao asked sowhat disheartenedly, “Yiyi, do you think I lack ambition?”
Sheng Chuyi hadn’t expected her to suddenly ask this. This girl had always been in good spirits, except when worrying about her howork; nothing else seed to affect her mood. He liked her carefree, lighthearted deanor, her optimism, and confidence. Seeing her made him feel like there was nothing in the world that couldn’t be solved.
No matter how tired or tough it got, just seeing her would lift his spirits.
Sheng Chuyi remarked, “From the mont I t you, you’ve been this way, and I think it’s perfect. I hope the future you can stay the sa.”
The tis are too impetuous, yet she has always managed to maintain her original intentions.
That was exactly what he wanted to protect.
Shen Zhaozhao asked, “So even if I choose to lay back and slack off for my whole life, you wouldn’t mind?”
Sheng Chuyi said, “As long as you’re happy, that’s fine. Don’t worry, even if there was one more of you, I could still provide for us.”
“What if there’s more than just one more of ?” Shen Zhaozhao murmured quietly.
“What did you say?”
“Nothing.” Shen Zhaozhao quickly shook her head and looked at him, “You don’t think our ntalities are on different levels? You don’t think I embarrass you?”
Sheng Chuyi lifted his head and ruffled her hair, “Shen Zhaozhao, you’re doing just fine. Listen, I like you for you, no matter what you’re like, I love you. Moreover, I’m looking for a partner to spend my life with, not a business partner. And even though two people are together, they are still independent individuals. Whatever lifestyle you choose, I will support you.” He then gently tapped her forehead, “So, stop overthinking!”
Shen Zhaozhao pouted, “I’m not overthinking. I just want to beco better, to beco soone more worthy of you.”
Sheng Chuyi’s gaze softened as he looked at her, “You are already worthy. Shen Zhaozhao, you’re great just the way you are. Don’t sell yourself short. Besides, the future is long, and if there are things you can’t understand now, you can take your ti to figure them out. There’s no need to rush.”
Life is a long journey; there will always be tis of confusion, but as long as you keep moving forward, you will always find your own path.
