The confrontation between a Ti Traveler and a re mortal.

She lost.

No matter how cautious she was, it couldn’t stand up to the close attention from the one beside her in bed. Rather than admitting defeat to Qin Guanglin, it was more like she had lost to her feelings.

He Fang’s thoughts drifted far away with the clouds outside the window, silently pondering over all that had happened since her return.

If their roles were reversed, she should have been able to sense any odd behavior from Qin Guanglin and consequently jump to all sorts of conclusions.

What then?

They would have to face it eventually. She understood Qin Guanglin well enough to know he was just biding his ti, opting not to speak until he had sorted out his thoughts—or more precisely, gathered enough evidence. When he was ready, he would surely confront her.

Exactly which part had given her away, she wasn’t certain yet. Could she have mumbled sothing in her sleep?

It wouldn’t be strange to dream about anything, but only a sick person would take dream talk seriously... Qin Guanglin wasn’t that reckless. There must be another reason.

"What are you thinking about?"

After playing with her small hand for a while, which was always so soft and pleasant to touch, Qin Guanglin noticed that she was staring out the window, lost in thought, and asked.

Without turning her head, He Fang replied, "Thinking about why you are so foolish."

"Psht, I’m not the fool here." Qin Guanglin, out of boredom, dropped her hand and leaned back in his seat, looking around. The excitent he felt during takeoff had already subsided. After a brief quiet, he spoke again, "Sothing feels off."

"Off in what way?"

"It’s not like what I imagined marriage would be..." He scratched his head, sensing sothing was amiss, "It’s almost like there’s no difference between being married and not—except that now we can openly take leave to have fun. Other than that, everything seems the sa. That’s not quite right."

He Fang finally turned away from the window, couldn’t help but laugh at his remarks, "What else did you expect?"

"It’s not about what I expect. Don’t you find our life too mundane?"

"Bored of it?"

"Hey, speak nicely!" Qin Guanglin protested, "How could I possibly be bored... It’s just that the anticipation before was so intense, and now there seems to be little difference post-wedding, which feels sowhat... you know what I an, right?"

He Fang nodded, "Yeah, I understand... You an to say getting married should bring us to a new phase in life, that there should be change, right?"

"Exactly, and we have no change at all."

"We’ve already had change." He Fang pondered for a mont, then smiled, "We were married from the mont we started living together. It’s just that the wedding ceremony was only held now. If you compare your life from when you were alone to living with , don’t you notice the difference?"

"..."

Qin Guanglin fell silent, thinking.

It seed that was indeed the case...

Had he already drawn upon a married life too early back when they cohabitated on South Fly Road?

"Hmph, talking about silly, yet you won’t admit it."

"Quiet, I’m reminiscing about those tis. Otherwise, I’d always feel like I’m missing out."

Although they’d enjoyed marital life several years in advance, the lack of newness in the honeymoon was inevitably a slight disappointnt.

After all that anticipation, what was it for?

...

...

The flight from Luo City to Bashu took only an hour and a half, even shorter than the ti it took to drive to Chou Mountain.

Qin Guanglin stood at Bashu Airport, luggage in his left hand, and He Fang’s hand in his right, taking a deep breath.

The honeymoon had begun. Although it was just a trip within the province, there were plenty of places to enjoy: Jiuzhaigou, the Giant Buddha, Qing City Mountain, Temple of Marquis Wu, Ei, and the giant pandas... With more than half a month at their disposal, there was no rush.

Travel is essentially moving from a place where you’re tired of staying to a place where others are tired of staying, to wander, to see, to play.

They hadn’t planned any itineraries. Instead, both entirely driven by mood, they took a taxi from the airport and headed straight to a hotel to check in. They rested until the afternoon and then looked up the location of the snack street online, dedicating their first day to feasting on local treats.

After enjoying themselves, they would return to the hotel, belly full, and lie down to rest, then use the map to decide where to head the next day.

As Qin Guanglin’s fa grew, although "My Wife is Too Cute" was freely available online—with physical copies for sale—the popularity it generated also spilled over to the other works he had completed at his company over the years. His older comics, long completed, were enjoying a second round of success, adding a substantial amount to his royalties.

There was no need to budget every step of the trip; a honeymoon was about doing what they wanted when they wanted. Whatever place caught their fancy, that’s where they would go.

"There’s bungee jumping here, wanna go?" Qin Guanglin looked at the map, suddenly pointing to a spot.

He rembered He Fang liked such activities, back when they first got together, they had visited the amusent park to tackle the most thrilling rides.

"No thanks, why bother with that... If you want to play, I’ll accompany you there, you can play on your own." He Fang said.

"Aren’t you into thrilling stuff?"

"When did I ever like that? I never liked it."

He Fang spoke casually, paused for a while without hearing a response, then looked up to see Qin Guanglin staring thoughtfully at her, a mysterious smile on his face.

"What’s up?" Her heart skipped a beat.

"Who was desperately dragging onto the drop tower?" Qin Guanglin said.

"..."

He Fang blinked, getting stuck for a mont, then lowered her head and pursed her lips, saying, "I saw you were scared, it was on purpose, that doesn’t an I like it."

"Really?"

"What else?"

"It was definitely on purpose." Qin Guanglin thought for a mont, took out his phone and tapped a few tis, "Wait here, I need to check sothing."

After a while, he looked up at He Fang, noticed the confusion in her eyes, cleared his throat and handed her the phone.

"But not because you saw I was scared, right?"

That seemingly ordinary action from back then, now it seed, was all part of this woman’s step-by-step plan.

The birthday cake from that day was proof enough, all of it carried the trace of preditation.

He Fang looked down at the phone screen and fell silent.

It was the Wikipedia explanation of the suspension bridge effect.

What she thought was flawless was actually full of holes.

"Sotis I wonder just how handso I must be, to have you so enchanted..." Qin Guanglin lay on the bed, smiling and gazing at her, playfully flicking at his nonexistent fringe, looking proud of himself.

"Conceited much?"

He Fang couldn’t help but laugh, pushed the phone back to him and said, "Conspiracy theories over an amusent park — alright, you’re the handsost, super incredibly handso, satisfied?"

She blad her own greed at the ti, wanting their relationship to be perfect right away, then to slowly develop in everyday life.

This guy, as soon as he noticed even one thing off, and retracing the tiline, would always find blind spots that he had previously missed — like the birthday cake, like the words spoken on Zhongnan Mountain, like her cooking skills... Too much was unexplainable.

Many things are ingrained in the bones, and no matter how careful she was, there would be oversights. Moreover, with so many years between her past and present life, the mories in her brain would be biased, inevitably revealing flaws.

Hiding was futile, she had completely lost.

"An unnecessary move."

"What?"

"I said, it was an unnecessary move." Qin Guanglin clicked his phone a couple tis, put it back in his pocket, and said while looking at her, "Even without all these fancy tricks, I would have liked you anyway."

So much for the suspension bridge effect... It seed like he had fallen for her back when he had first agreed to give her a painting.

Back then he was still living off commissions, if he hadn’t wanted to win her over, why would he go to such lengths to paint sothing and give it away for free? He wasn’t that idle.

"Husband."

"Hmm?"

"..."

Seeing her bite her lip and look at him, Qin Guanglin paused, glanced outside, and said, "It’s just getting dark."

"What are we here for?"

"Honeymoon."

"What’s the point of a honeymoon?"

"To enhance the relationship... hey, take it easy."
