The consequences of not listening to soone speak properly is getting thoroughly set straight.

He Fang, with her forehead fringed with strands of hair, lay lazily at the head of the bed, not wanting to move a finger, squinting and silent for a mont before saying, "I’m hungry."

"Where can we find food this late at night?"

Qin Guanglin also couldn’t be bothered to move, turned his head to look at her, and said, "How about I get you a glass of water? You won’t feel hungry after drinking."

"...You’ve changed, you used to rush out to buy food imdiately. Indeed, once n get married they change; once done with you, they throw you aside—"

"Alright, alright, alright, just stop, what do you want to eat?" Qin Guanglin quickly got up, put on his clothes, anything and everything just ’changed’... It was only a bit of laziness.

"Duck feet, potato chips, the cumin-flavored ones, and take a look if they have those dried preserved plums, the ones we used to buy at the convenience store near your place."

"Oh."

With a response, Qin Guanglin prepared to head out the door, hungry my ass, it was clearly just a craving.

Pfft, won.

"Hold on." He Fang called out.

"What’s up?"

"Thank you, hubby."

He Fang got up, hugged him with a smack, and waved cheerfully, "Hurry up and go."

"..."

Qin Guanglin closed the door behind him and descended the stairs, stepping outside.

The moon shone brightly amidst sparse stars.

The sumr night breeze blew gently, nearing midnight; people out for a cool evening walk had long since returned to rest, and other than the chirping of crickets, the residential complex was void of other noises.

He looked up at the building, leisurely walking towards the exit of the complex where there was a 24-hour convenience store right by the gate, which was quite convenient.

Cooled by the external breeze, Qin Guanglin’s spirit lifted sowhat, pondering when would be the right ti to speak his mind.

His initial plan was to clear things up with her before giving her a hard ti, but in the end, he just couldn’t say it... His resolve had been weak lately, definitely because of getting married, not because he was infatuated with his wife’s charms.

This wouldn’t do; he had to lay his cards on the table no matter if she was so demon, ghost, monster, immortal, or whatever—giving her a hard ti would still straighten her out.

To repay a debt, it should be negotiated, beyond just making a child clear and straightforward, there were many other ways to repay a debt, like... playing with tails or sothing... bah!

Like... like... anyway, it had to be made clear; pretending to be ignorant for too long was certain to cause problems, and although he didn’t know why she took sleeping pills, got sick, or cried, Qin Guanglin was one hundred percent certain she was no ordinary person.

Laying the cards on the table.

Just spill it all after the honeymoon.

He couldn’t procrastinate any longer.

With this resolve, Qin Guanglin had reached the convenience store, loaded up on all the things He Fang liked to eat into a large bag, grabbed two bread rolls for himself, paid with his phone, and headed back.

"Why did you buy so much?!"

Seeing Qin Guanglin return with a big bag of snacks, He Fang took the bag sowhat surprised.

"If we don’t finish, just pack it in the bag, and we can eat it when we’re out and about."

"You’re always so thoughtful."

He Fang nodded, tore open the duck feet packaging, and began nibbling at them like a kitten, "Kick the trash can over here, will you?"

Doing as she asked, Qin Guanglin moved the trash can over to her, went out to the living room to boil water, and upon returning, he watched He Fang nibbling on the duck feet bit by bit and couldn’t help but sit down and place his hand on her smooth back.

It seed like laying the cards on the table wasn’t so important after all...

He wavered again.

Hopelessly addicted to the charms of a woman.

"What are you thinking about doing again?" He Fang looked up at him, a little puzzled.

"Nothing, are you cold? Should I turn up the air conditioning?"

"Just set it to sleep mode."

"Oh."

Qin Guanglin grabbed the remote from the headboard, pressed a few buttons, then turned over and lay down comfortably on the bed.

He’d talk about it after the honeymoon, for now, it was ti to enjoy their world for two.

...

...

Yesterday morning.

The two of them boarded a plane bound for Bashu.

Bashu has a long history, picturesque scenery, and abundant resources; it has been known since ancient tis as the "Land of Abundance"—excerpt from an encyclopedia, which boils down to being a place with good food and fun.

They had ruled out Mr. Qin’s plans for a trip abroad and a beach vacation, instead choosing to spend their honeymoon in the magnificent landscapes of their motherland, to explore and visit.

He Fang vaguely rembered that her mother seed to be from Bashu; Qin Guanglin had no objections. Now, as they boarded the plane, he looked around excitedly, "This is my first ti on a plane. I wonder if I’ll feel sick when we take off—have you ever been on one?"

"I’m also flying for the first ti."

He Fang thought for a mont, then said, "You didn’t feel sick on the big pendulum ride; you’ll be fine for sure."

Qin Guanglin mischievously squinted his eyes and whispered, "Hey, it’s the first ti for both of us."

"...Can you be normal, Mr. Qin?"

"I am very normal, you..." He shook his head and sighed, "You’re too dirty-minded."

"Do you know what I’m thinking?" He Fang glanced at him sideways.

"You’re thinking what I’m thinking."

"I am not thinking what you’re thinking."

"How do you know if you haven’t thought about it?"

"How do you know whether I’ve thought about it or not?"

The two fools huddled together and muttered non-stop until the flight attendant stood in front to start the safety briefing, prompting them to stop their endless debate and check their seat belts according to procedure.

"Actually, it would be nice if you could just whoosh, take along—saves money, saves ti."

As the scenery outside the window changed and the plane was about to take off, Qin Guanglin felt He Fang grip his hand a bit tighter and started to divert her attention.

"What whoosh?" He Fang was indeed distracted by his words.

"Just like, whoosh."

"..."

He Fang sighed in resignation, "Have you been bewitched by watching Lady Bai?"

Qin Guanglin remained silent but amused,

Bashu, huh.

Lady Bai Suzhen at the foot of Qing City Mountain.

You even share a hotown.

Feeling that Qin Guanglin was becoming more and more peculiar, He Fang frowned slightly and looked outside the window.

What has been going on with this guy lately?

After thinking it over carefully, connecting all the recent events, and rembering what Qin Guanglin said at the wedding, she realized he must have known all along. He Fang’s brow relaxed, and she glanced at him expressionlessly.

He knows nothing at all!

Seeing Qin Guanglin smiling smugly at her, she suddenly felt a headache coming on.

He must be thinking sothing inappropriate, absolutely.

Just look at him, and you know he’s thinking... cough, he’s obviously got sothing wrong in his head.

I need to figure out a way to explain...

Considering the possible consequences, she hesitated, but letting him wildly guess was no solution.

Torn within, He Fang grabbed Qin Guanglin’s hand and bit it, then turned back to sullenly gaze at the clouds outside the window.

"Why are you biting ?" Qin Guanglin was innocently clueless about her actions.

"I felt like biting."

"Want to bite again? You can take another bite."

"Shut up, I don’t want to."

He Fang sighed.

In the novels, people who encounter these kinds of situations end up extrely wealthy, powerful enough to rival nations, having influence that reaches everywhere, stirring up trouble both dostically and abroad.

Now that it’s really happening to her, why is it so difficult to just want to live a peaceful life?

She could imitate poetry, opera, and films and beco an all-rounder without arousing suspicion, yet just as she carefully takes a few steps out, it’s already apparent that sothing’s amiss.

Where exactly did things go wrong?
