Excella was concerned for the hero's safety. However, Noelle, whom she was guarding against, was trembling and shaking. This was not only because the summoning of the Spirit had ended fruitlessly. Noelle's face cracked, and her skin began to crumble---as if paint was peeling off.
(This is... decay!? It's the side effect of the demonization!!)
The reason such a potion was condemned as inhumane and forbidden by imperial military regulations during the Great Human-Demon War was now being witnessed by Excella and the hero.
Noelle's breathing beca rougher. The fissures spread throughout her body and eroded Noelle.
The hero asked Excella with a sad expression on his face,
"Excella! What should I do? What should I do? How do I save Noelle?"

Noelle herself spoke up in place of Excella, who was silent.

The hero slamd his fist down on the ground in frustration. Noelle smiles at him, even though she's cracked all over.

Noelle may no longer be able to hear the cries of the hero. Half of her body had already crumbled away like sand. Noelle's upper body collapsed onto the chest of the hero.
"You are weak... And yet I couldn't beat you... I now understand it! ... Your power is truly greater than magic power and attack power..."
Noelle then took the hero's hand.
"With that power... I hope that... you can create a world where humans can truly live in peace..."
Noelle's body crumbled to ashes. Only Noelle's armor and a small rabbit mascot remained in the hero's lap.

The bird-headed demon Pholus slamd the door violently and rushed into Nephira's quarters.
"Hu-Human soldiers! They are invading the Castle of Syness from the east!"
Serphiano had told Nephira with the crystal ball that there were so strange movents among the humans. As such, Nephira was not too surprised. However, she had one question.
"Haven't the town's defenses been strengthened as directed!?"
"Those guys defeated the guards with a strength unseen in humans...
It appears that several casualties have already occurred!"
Serphiano warned Nephira to be on her guard. Therefore, Nephira had placed as many high-ranking soldiers as possible in various parts of Leirune, but it seed the enemy's strength was far greater than she could have imagined.
Nephira, who had been calmly analyzing the situation up to this point, suddenly rembered Suzuki, causing her hearts to beat faster.
"H-Hey. How's Suzuki?"
"I don't know! However, we've been inford that the enemy also invaded Suzukiland!"
(Wa-Wait a minute! That's really bad!)
"However! Uhouguru is also with him, so I don't think you need to worry about him."
Nephira pounded the table with her fist.

When Nephira stepped out of the castle, the area was in turmoil. Near the gate, Kiru was confronting a human being with her grim reaper's scythe at the ready. Her sister, ru, next to her, was also holding up her assassin's daggers.
Two top brass of the Thunder-Lance Charge were there. Nephira, thinking there would be no problem, tried to head to Suzuki, but---
"Whoaaa---!?"
Kiru's sickle got knocked away, and she ended up rolling toward Nephira. After five spins and adjusting her stance, she noticed Nephira.
"Ah. Greetings, Lady Nephira. Eh-hehe."
"It's rare for you to suffer damage."
"I-I was just a little careless! This won't happen next ti!"
In the middle of their conversation---
"Hiyaa!"
ru also rolled over, just like her sister. While taking a breath, Nephira stared at the castle gate. A silver-haired female knight, who had handled the ru-Kiru sisters, was also staring back at her. She slowly walked past the gate with a sword still in her hands.
"...Are you the commander of the Thunder-Lance Charge?"
"That's right."
The mont Nephira answered,
"Divine Blade 'Wind Slash'."
Without saying a word, the woman imdiately swung her sword, enveloped in a blue aura. A huge, arch-shaped aura blade flew toward Nephira. Nephira quickly grabbed the ru-Kiru sisters with both hands, threw them away, and then bent down to dodge the aura herself.
With a trendous noise, a large crack appeared in the wall behind Nephira.
(What a strong clump of fighting spirit...!)
She thought it was similar to the signature move of the most powerful ogre in the Demon Lord's army, Grant, who served as Serphiano's bodyguard. However, until now, she has never t a single human being capable of performing such a feat.
(Anyway, I'd better knock her down quickly so I can go get Suzuki!)
She silently extended one hand to the frightened bird-headed demon Pholus a distance away, still holding her Lightning Spear Blitzberg. She wanted to ask him to give her Blitzberg, but... she kept her mouth shut.
"Then you, at least! Nephira, please don't kill humans."
