[Countdown: 00:22:00]

deia regained her will to move after watching the countdown.

Every second was important for her.

"I’m sorry ..." she whispered to herself before running toward the creature in front of her.

The creature tried to scratch her, but Lucian stopped its movent, allowing deia to cut off its head in a second.

The sharp blade ensured the kill was quick, gentle, and painless.

The creature didn’t even have ti to scream before its grotesque body slumped to the ground.

"Sleep well," she murmured.

[You have slain a grotesque creature (Grade-???): 300 XP]

deia’s face imdiately darkened upon hearing this announcent. For the first ti, she didn’t feel happy when the system gave her points.

She hated it.

The points felt like a mockery, a reminder of what she had done to those poor kids.

Another creature approached her, using its big hands to beat the ground around her.

Unfortunately, the big hands weren’t able to touch deia at all because Lucian’s telekinetic force held them down, giving deia the perfect opening.

She swung her sword and severed his head in one clean motion. The dark energy of her abyssal weapon humd, almost as if mourning the life it had just taken.

[You have slain a grotesque creature (Grade-???): 300 XP]

Oh, please shut up.

Shut up.

Please make it stop.

She didn’t want those points anymore, but the system deliberately rang the announcent so loud and clear.

[The system is not the only one who controls the announcent, Host.]

Soone more powerful than the system took control of it. They would make sure that whatever she did would entertain the watchers.

Her tears and pain would be the perfect combination of making the show more entertaining.

One by one, she moved through the monsters. The blade of her sword was covered in blood, and the system’s announcent kept popping up in her head.

[Countdown: 00:15:23]

[Bonus points for killing ten grotesque creatures in a row: 500 XP // 200 gold coins]

"H-help ... I-I can’t stop."

Another creature tried to speak, but half of its mouth was rotten, making its voice barely audible. Tears of blood ran down its disfigured face, its hollow eyes reflecting pain and despair as Orlon controlled its movents.

"Don’t worry." deia whispered, "I will set you free."

The creature lunged, its twisted arms flailing wildly as if fighting itself. Lucian stepped in quickly, holding its hands in place with an invisible grip.

In one quick swing, her blade severed the creature’s head, the dark energy slicing effortlessly through its grotesque form.

[You have slain a grotesque creature (Grade-???): 300 XP]

deia ignored the system’s announcent and moved quickly toward another creature. But Orlon had changed his tactics, instead of letting deia fight them one by one, he ordered all of his creatures to kill her.

He gritted his teeth and the frustration returned to his heart. He had been confident that deia was nothing compared to his beautiful creations, but he hadn’t expected her to be more powerful than before.

Orlon’s voice echoed through the air. "You are all useless! I let you eat the soldiers, but you still can’t kill a woman?! Fucking useless!"

BANG!

Orlon was taken by surprise as a bullet whizzed toward his head. His face turned ugly and his eyes widened in shock. But before the bullet could reach its target, the kangaroo-like monster behind him reacted with blinding speed.

Its muscular tail snapped out and caught the bullet in mid-air. The bullet ricocheted harmlessly to the side, leaving Orlon unhard.

Tian lowered his sniper rifle, cursing under his breath. "Damn it." He said, "I should have killed him before."

He still held a grudge against Orlon for letting Eddie escape, preventing him from saving his brother sooner.

After a while, Orlon regained his composure, a sinister grin spreading across his face. "This is my masterpiece! You can’t kill without killing it first!"

Tian’s sharp eyes narrowed as he adjusted his stance. "Masterpiece, huh? Let’s test how resilient it really is."

A faint green light suddenly ran from his hand to the barrel, and the bullet loaded in the chamber began to glow as well. This ti he aid at the kangaroo’s legs.

Ren noticed his gesture and imdiately shouted, "No, Tian! Don’t—"

BANG!

The bullet shot forward, piercing the air with a humming sound. The kangaroo moved its tail to cover its body, but when the bullet hit its tail, there was a split second of silence before—

BOOM!

The bullet suddenly exploded on impact. A shock wave spread through the base, causing everyone to look at Tian in shock.

"What the hell is that?!" Harry shouted at him. "When did you—"

"Are you crazy?!" Ren tried to grab the rifle out of his brother’s hand. "You promised not to use this ability unless it’s urgent!"

Tian clicked his tongue. "This is urgent." He touched his philtrum as he felt a warm liquid flow from his nose. "He pissed off, so I want to kill him as soon as possible."

Ren freaked out. "Now you have a nosebleed!"

"It’s nothing. Stop being so dramatic." Tian rubbed at the blood with his hand.

On the other side, deia glared at Tian. "You motherfucker! I told you not to touch them!"

[Foul language detected! Penalty -20 C-points.]

Tian replied nonchalantly. "That kid is fine. He can’t feel pain anymore."

deia glanced back at the kangaroo. After the explosion, it had imdiately jumped back quickly so that only its tail was burned.

Despite the wound, the kangaroo remained silent. Its glowing red eyes focused only on them, as if nothing else in the world mattered.

Orlon had said it was his masterpiece.

The perfect creation that no longer felt pain and would do anything to protect him.

"You bastard!" Orlon touched the half of his face that was burned by the explosion. He clenched his jaw and glared at Tian. "You will be my next target after this!"

Tian scoffed, "You can’t even kill a woman." He reloaded his rifle and took another aim. "And before you kill her, I’ll make sure to shoot your face first."
