[You have slain an invisible Iguana (Grade-SS): 500 XP]

A big smile appeared on deia’s face because she only had to behead the dying reptile to gain that many experience points.

She should have done it from the beginning!

"Can a monster’s soul also help you beco stronger?" Lucian couldn’t help but smile when he saw deia getting happier.

deia didn’t know how to explain it, so she just nodded. Fortunately, Lucian had never asked things that were too complicated, so deia didn’t have to think too hard.

"Then from now on I’ll let you kill them when we et one." Lucian smiled brightly, as if he had just given her a gift. "You seem to enjoy it anyway."

deia blinked, montarily surprised. Did she enjoy it? Absolutely. But she didn’t think it was an appropriate word to admit in front of others.

"Alright, ti to move on." Lucian asked them to get back on their way. He went first, followed by deia and the twins.

Did she just get a weapon to collect points without breaking a sweat?

Lucian was even more effective than any of the weapons the system gave her!

’See? I didn’t pick a wrong man. If I follow your words not to choose him in the beginning, I’d be damned forever!’ said deia to the system in her mind.

[The system just wants to be extra careful, Host~]

deia rolled her eyes.

Extra cautious my ass.

The system even asked deia to choose random n as her potential husband, but it felt conflicted when she wanted to choose Lucian just because his kindness points were odd.

Maybe the system knew that Lucian would be her perfect companion, so it didn’t want her to choose him?

It didn’t make sense, but it made sense at the sa ti.

The system had only told her that it would help her get a kind and handso man in the apocalypse, but it had never said that it would give her a perfect husband.

The system really pissed her off.

[Reminder: Please do not speak ill of the system or Host will be punished].

See? The system was even anti-critique.

But deia decided not to provoke the system any further because she didn’t want to receive the punishnt at this ti.

The path to the twin tunnels was not as straightforward as deia had hoped. The swamp slowly turned into a dry, cracked wasteland as they reached the main road.

The air grew hotter, the humidity replaced by the dry sll of dust and sand.

deia covered her head with a jacket to shield it from the scorching sun. Even though it would soon be night, the sun still shone so brightly.

The swamp was disgusting, but at least they could hide among the bushes and trees. anwhile, in the desert, they looked like a free al for a bunch of monsters.

deia squinted at the horizon, but she couldn’t see the tunnel from afar.

"Great. From a swamp to a desert," deia muttered, splashing her face several tis with cold water. "What’s next? A blizzard?"

"Hey, don’t jinx it," Ren said. After they left the swamp, Tian finally let him walk on his own feet.

"The weather here is unpredictable, so yes, a blizzard is possible." He continued, "The terrain here is unstable. We have to be careful."

deia wiped the sweat from her forehead, her patience wearing thin. "I’m so tired of this place."

As they walked on, the ground beneath their feet began to crack and shift. Lucian stopped imdiately, raising a hand to signal silence.

"Sothing is moving underground," he said quietly.

[Warning! A dangerous mutant is approaching! Approximately 20 ters.]

deia rolled her eyes because every mutant she encountered always ca from underground.

[WARNING: Giant Worm (Grade-S): Human Mutated / The Lost.]

deia was shocked when the system said it was the Lost. A worm combined with human form? What kind of monster would co out of the ground?

The surface of the ground bulged as sothing quickly moved toward them from underground.

Before they could speak, the ground erupted. A massive red worm with a human head erged from the sand. Its long body reflected the sunlight, and the human head made the worm look like sothing out of a nightmare.

deia gagged. "Ew. Ew. That’s so disgusting." Her body shuddered. "What kind of sin did he commit to deserve a body like that?"

In hell, deia even forbade her minions to bring disgusting creatures into her palace.

"Do you want to fight it first?" asked Lucian. He stepped aside to make way for deia.

"Ew, no." She pushed Lucian toward the worm. "You do it, but let kill it."

Lucian smiled. "All right, Princess."

The worm with the red, slimy skin staggered forward, its gaping mouth lined with rows of jagged teeth. Its foul stench filled the air, making deia gag again.

Covering her nose with one hand, deia turned her head slightly. "Seriously, why are all the mutants here so disgusting?"

The worm slamd its body to the ground. Lucian dodged to the side, his movent quick and cautious.

With a quick slash, he sliced into the worm’s body, its black liquid splattering on the ground before Lucian could dodge.

The worm screeched, a high-pitched sound that made deia’s skin crawl.

Lucian struck again, this ti driving his blade deeper into the creature’s flesh. The worm writhed violently, but its strength began to waver. Lucian twisted the sword and pulled it free, causing the creature to collapse with a thud.

"Alright, Princess, all yours." Lucian stepped back, making room for deia to approach.

"It’s so disgusting." deia cautiously approached the dying worm. "Ugh, the stench."

She plunged her sword into the human’s head, freeing it from the disgusting body for good.

[You have slain a Giant Worm (Grade-S): 300 XP]

She imdiately retreated and cleaned her sword with sand to remove the stench of the worm’s blood.

"Why do you always take the monsters’ final end?" asked Ren curiously.

Before deia could answer him, Tian said, "Don’t ask too much."

Tian truly was a man of his words. He kept his promise not to ask deia anything, even though she was doing strange things.

Ren looked confused but decided not to say anything.

"We should find shelter before sundown." Lucian lifted his head and looked at the slowly setting sun. "The temperature here will drop to minus as soon as night falls."
