The people who checked the opposing class let out a sigh of disappointnt.

“S-class is going to be hard to beat.”

“Hastings is going to be so upset.”

With sighs coming from all directions, students gathered in the middle of the field.

The 2nd-year S-class was famous for being extrely ruthless.

They were the ones who knew how to best take advantage of the F-class’s penalty, where only one athletic student could participate.

lody wiped her tears with a handkerchief and stepped onto the pitch inside the stadium.

She then tucked the handkerchief into her gym clothes pocket and grabbed the bat in her hand.

With a firm expression, she gritted her teeth, and the venom in her eyes was palpable.

That was why lody won people's favor. Who could dislike soone working so hard?

Raven, who had been hiding behind a tree, forgot and blankly walked out to sit in the stands.

Everyone watched the ga with tense faces, following lody.

Beep—

The sound of a whistle signaling the start of the ga echoed.

Thunk—

The opposing team’s batter hit the ball with a bat, and the ball soared so far that it beca a ho run.

The opposing team’s batter was making continuous runs by touching the widgets on both sides of the field in a straight line.

From the start of the ga, the F-class was bound to be exhausted, with a huge point gap showing.

“Oh no. What should we do?”

“I can't watch this.”

Students in the stands lanted.

Watching this, Raven felt a strange emotion. lody had always been like this.

She was loved and cheered for wherever she went.

That was probably because lody was warm and a good person.

Though she hadn’t been at the school for long, she had already beco incredibly popular.

And that wasn’t sothing earned just by her looks or her perfect score on the transfer exam.

He wished he could be there with her, cheering for her by her side.

Raven rubbed his arm, which had a dull ache, narrowing his brow.

Damn curse, keeping him from getting close to lody, but today, he didn’t want to run away.

After a mont of contemplation, he gathered his courage and stood up.

“Huh? What? There’s the second Hastings.”

“Ha! It’s the weirdo Raven.”

Whispers.

Students who had just noticed him murmured. Raven ignored the whispers and shouted toward the field.

“Hang in there! lody!”

That was the best he could do for lody. Cheering for her from afar.

lody, standing helplessly with a bat in hand, was startled and looked back at Raven.

Her eyes grew wide with surprise.

She was about to rush toward the stands in shock when Dante barely stopped her.

It’s Raven. Really, Raven!

I blinked my eyes in disbelief. My brother, Raven, who ★ 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 ★ I had searched for weeks without finding, was there, on the other side of the field.

As I was about to run toward the stands, Dante grabbed my arm.

“lody, focus on the ga.”

I shook my head.

“But right now, Raven is more important than the ga...”

“There’s nothing more important than the ga, lody. Didn’t your brother tell you to do your best? Don’t you feel anything?”

“......”

For a mont, the excitent in my head began to calm down.

“If your brother is cheering for you like that, are you really going to abandon all this and run away irresponsibly? lody, your brother would be disappointed.”

I nodded at Dante’s words.

He was right. Playing the ga was the right thing to do now.

I tightly gripped the bat again and apologized to Dante.

“Sorry. For being irresponsible.”

Dante smiled lightly.

“Good. Now, look ahead. Let’s go.”

My mind cleared. Though there were still ghosts everywhere, it was painful, I knew I had to focus.

My eyes filled with resolve.

Since Raven cheered for , I didn’t want to lose weakly to the S-class.

I quickly calculated the angle the ball would co from, focusing on hitting the bat.

Then, between the ghosts, I saw the ball flying toward .

I swung the bat with all my might.

Whack!

With a frictional sound, the ball soared high into the air, higher than the one hit by the S-class batter.

It was a ho run.

I tossed the bat aside and ran.

I hit the opponent team’s widget with my hand, then ca back and hit our team’s widget to score.

I kept scoring this way until the ball was retrieved.

Huff... Huff...

Breathing heavily, I couldn’t slow down now.

Wow—! Wow—!

As I kept hitting the widgets, the cheer of the students grew louder.

“Hastings is amazing!”

“Wow! We’ve reversed the score!”

I didn’t even realize we had made a coback.

I just kept hitting the widgets, scoring, until I heard the whistle of the PE teacher and collapsed to the ground.

I was so out of breath, I thought I might die from hyperventilation.

Looking under my nose, I saw blood dripping down, indicating another nosebleed.

It seed that I had scraped my knee while falling, and there was blood all over the place.

Now, blood was visibly pouring down my nose, so I quickly grabbed the handkerchief Dante had given and stuffed it into my nose.

“We won, right?”

I asked Dante, sowhat dazed. Dante held my nose and nodded.

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

“We won. Our class is in first place, lody.”

My eyes widened.

Wow—! lody! lody!

Only then did I notice my na mixed in with the overwhelming cheers.

A hot emotion welled up inside . All the hardships I had gone through flashed in my mind, and a rush of gratitude filled .

I spoke with a lump in my throat, barely able to say anything, and after a long pause, I finally thanked Dante.

“Thank you. It’s all thanks to you.”

“First, clean up the blood.”

Dante seed a bit embarrassed as he tightly held my nose. His earlobes turned red.

At that mont, soone ca up close and suddenly picked up in their arms.

“lody, I told you not to push yourself since your body is too frail.”

It was Noah.

“Still, we won, didn’t we? I’m soone who gets things done.”

I was so happy that I didn’t really hear anything else.

“You turn your head, and you’re either hurt or bleeding. I can't take my eyes off of you.”

“Today, cut so slack. I ca first!”

Seeing my beaming smile, Noah shook his head as if he couldn’t stop .

Then, I started to feel the sound fading away. My vision blurred. I was having a fainting spell.

Ah, I’m going to pass out soon.

Just as expected, my vision went dark.

When I opened my eyes again, it was night.

I woke up in the student ward of the Saint Gloria Private School main hospital.

Erika was half-leaning against my bed, fast asleep.

When I checked the ti, it was already 10 PM.

Erika being here at this hour must be a violation of the rules.

Outside the window, I could see ghosts stuck to the glass. They were restless, pacing back and forth.

They seed to feel sorry for . They probably thought my fainting was their fault.

‘If ghosts can think like that, they’re really smart and kind.’

While thinking that, I realized the ghosts were looking sowhere nervously.

The ghosts couldn’t enter the room, seemingly scared of soone inside.

I turned my head in the direction the ghosts were looking.

There, sitting on a chair, leaning against the wall, was Noah, briefly asleep.
