My na is Lin Xu. After a slight slip, I died and appeared in the body of a minor character in a TV show I watched months ago.
Though she is a weak one, she is kind in heart and suffered terribly from her in-laws.
So because of that, I will make sure to take good care of her and her children. I’ll live well for her and take revenge on all those who caused her death.
Arriving at the Lu residence, I imdiately went straight to the small room at the back of the residence where my two children were.
It was a run-down room that looked like a cottage unfit for anyone to live in. I can’t believe such young children have been living here for so long.
This made so angry, but imdiately I saw the two cuties’ adorable faces, my anger lted.
"Mama! Mama! You’re back...?" Mo Yiling ran to with a bright smile as her elder brother followed behind.
"Mama! Is Bao Bao alright now... where is Bao Bao?" Mo Yuen asked, his eyes watering.
Patting the two cuties on the head, I reassured them, "Don’t worry. Your little brother is alright. When it turns dark, I’ll go get him from the clinic. Don’t worry."
They both nodded to my words like obedient puppies. Oh, how I loved being a mother. It’s like having my own little minions who listened to everything I said.
They were both eight years old, so they were smart and weren’t little babies... aning that they would be quite helpful. That’s good.
"Growl"
A small sound caught my attention as I looked at the two buns standing in front of .
Imdiately, Yiling grabbed her belly, laughing shyly, "Sorry Mama, I’m just a little hungry... but Yiling is fine, she knows we don’t eat until nightfall."
"Huh? Why’s that?" I asked, confused by their words.
"Because Aunt Lu says we aren’t allowed to take any food until nightfall so we won’t shorten the portion of the family."
Mo Yuen said. From his expression, he seed hungry as well, and his words seed to flare up sothing in .
"Who do they think they are? How dare they make such stupid rules. I’ve had enough of them."
"Co!" I took hold of the two kids.
"Where are we going to, Mama?"
"Where else? We are going to the kitchen. I’ll cook a delicious al for you both, and I dare anyone to stop !"
I shouted as I marched out of the room with the two kids straight to the kitchen.
Since I’m their new mother, there was no way I was going to let them starve. The real Lin Xu might have been a scaredy-cat, but I’m no pussy.
Since young, I have been fierce and ruthless. I’ll tear anyone who dares co my way.
Upon arriving at the kitchen, I smiled. The whole store was filled with so many foodstuffs — from potatoes to rice, to corn, and even at.
Not to even say there was a chicken pen with five roosters.
Imdiately, I got to work. "Kids, don’t worry, Mom will make you all delicious braised at with white rice."
I said as they cheered on, "Yay!!!"
I caught the rooster and killed it in one go. With my amazing culinary skills, cooking was nothing. In less than half an hour, I had ready a delicious big pot of cooked chicken as I served it on the table together with the white rice.
For the remaining one, I packaged Little Bao Bao’s food to give him when I’m done eating.
Upon seeing the food on the table, the two buns just stared at it... their mouths drooling, but they didn’t dare touch it.
"What are you two waiting for? C’mon, start eating!" I said, smiling as I took my seat.
Facing one another, they both then turned to with concerned faces.
"Mama, are we sure we can eat this? What if Aunt Lu and The an Twins co and beat us again... we don’t want Mama to get beaten up!"
Mo Yiling was at the verge of crying as I sighed, "What are you afraid of? I’ll beat them and send them flying... don’t worry, Mother won’t let anyone bully you. From now on... we’ll all eat at every day, and no one will hurt us, okay?"
I reassured them once again, and they both nodded, still wary but now more relaxed by my words.
So with that, they both started eating, and in less than ten minutes we were done. I have never been so full and satisfied in my life.
The kids were both happy too as I stroked their heads. Such poor kids... I’ll make sure they live a very good life.
But just then, the happy mont was ruined as suddenly, Aunt Lu and her two ugly children arrived at the kitchen.
Aunt Lu’s face twisted into sothing between a crocodile’s grin and a hungry vulture’s glare as she stord into the kitchen, dragging her two equally ugly ducklings, Lu Fei and Lu Fong, behind her.
Lu Fei, with her sharp, pointy chin, looked like she’d been born to gossip. Lu Fong, on the other hand, had eyes so small I wondered how he could even see where he was walking.
Both of them were glaring at the chicken bones on the table as if they’d just discovered gold had been stolen from under their noses.
"You... you actually fed them at?! How dare you take food from our kitchen, Lin Xu! Who do you think you are?!" Aunt Lu screeched, her bony finger stabbing the air at like she was about to perform an exorcism.
I blinked slowly, leaning back in my chair, "Why can’t I take food from your kitchen? Haven’t you forgotten... this is also my ho, what other right do I need?"
Lu Fei stomped her foot like a spoiled princess, "Y-you... when did you get the audacity to shout back." She then turned to her mother, "Mama! She ate the family’s chicken! That was our food!"
Lu Fong imdiately joined in, his voice cracking like a squeaky door, "Yeah! That rooster was supposed to be for us! Now what are we going to eat?"
I tilted my head, pretending to think. "Hmm... well, there are more than enough roosters in there, but if you don’t want them... I would be happy to eat every single one of them."
Aunt Lu’s nostrils flared so wide I was convinced she could sll the next village. "Lin Xu! This is outrageous! These children.." she pointed at my two buns, "..are not allowed to eat at! You’re spoiling them! If you wanted to eat, you should’ve asked first! Have you forgotten that these children aren’t supposed to eat until nightfall? Now see, if you keep feeding them like this, they will beco fat and spoiled."
"What rubbish! The only fat and spoiled children I see here are your kids... and you dare yell nonsense about my children... it’s like you want a beating!" I yelled, ready to fight on the spot. Thank goodness I’m also good at Kung Fu... my thirty years of living free and wild weren’t for nothing.
Her mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water, clearly not expecting to bite back.
Mo Yiling tugged at my sleeve, whispering, "Mama... they’re going to call the villagers again..."
I smiled down at her. "Good. Let’s give them a show."
As if on cue, Aunt Lu’s shrill voice rang out like a temple bell, "Help! Help! This shaless woman is stealing from the Lu family! Co and see how she’s destroying the family property! What type of daughter-in-law did we bring into this ho!? Aya..."
Within minutes, a curious crowd gathered. Villagers whispered, glancing between us and the empty chicken pot. Aunt Lu was still acting, crocodile tears dripping down her cheeks.
"She’s feeding these useless brats expensive at while the rest of us starve!" she wailed dramatically.
From the back of the crowd, a clear voice rang out, "Aunt Lu, since when is the Lu family starving? Didn’t I just see you eating braised pork at noon?"
Heads turned. Striding through the villagers ca none other than the daughter of the village chief, Yan i.
She looked so beautiful. If I rember correctly, Yan i was the only friend Lin Xu had in the whole village who actually supported her and defended her whenever she was bullied by her in-laws.
Aunt Lu’s face turned pale. "Y-Yan i, you brat... your opinion doesn’t matter here. Everyone knows you are just as bad as this shaless woman... quick, leave."
"Oh, I understand perfectly," Yan i said coolly. "You’re angry because Lin Xu fed her own children. Tell , Aunt Lu, do you also control the air they breathe? Or is that still free?"
The crowd chuckled. Lu Fei’s face turned red, and Lu Fong muttered, "Mama, this isn’t fair..."
I stepped forward, my voice loud enough for every villager to hear. Now I’m in ancient tis with illiterate people who only like drama and sad stories.
Since Lin Xu was known as a weak and pitiful lady, gaining support and compassion from the villagers won’t be such a hard thing.
"Aya!" I started crying as well, "You all have to bear witness... I’m just a young and weak woman raising three children all by myself. My husband abandoned ... the kids are all so young, they need at least so protein for nutrition... but my Aunt won’t even spare so. Aya! What will I do?"
I cried out loud as the villagers started voicing out, "How ridiculous... Aunt Lu, you have really gone too far!"
"Lin Xu is so weak and young, she beca a mother at such a young age... can’t you support her like a good Aunt!"
"You are really heartless, the children hardly eat and you call yourself their Aunt... that’s too wicked of you!"
They all accused Aunt Lu as she started turning red in rage, "Lin Xu, what exactly do you want from ?!"
She finally asked the question I’ve been wanting to hear all day.
"Finally, you’re talking. Nothing much, I just want us to split!"
