Chapter 032: Infection of the Void Ghost.
“Are you not afraid of ?” The white-haired girl widened her eyes in question.
“Why should I be afraid of you? Because of the markings on your face?” Mu Liang blinked his black eyes.
Could it be that these crimson markings had so unique significance? Or was there so hidden implication?
“No… Look closely, these are real,” the white-haired girl quickly stepped forward and pointed to the crimson markings on her face.
“Honestly, they’re quite beautiful,” Mu Liang said, carefully examining the markings on her face.
The crimson markings shimred faintly, making them indeed look rather stunning.
“Beautiful?” The white-haired girl murmured to herself, her silver eyes blank.
It was the first ti she had ever heard anyone praise the “Void Ghost’s infection” as beautiful.
Her previously dazed gaze focused as she looked into his deep black eyes with a complex expression, trying to discern if he was lying.
What she saw was calm sincerity, untainted by deceit or hidden disgust.
“…” The white-haired girl suddenly found herself speechless. A sense of recognition and praise filled her heart.
The cleanly dressed man before her—did he not understand what the “Void Ghost’s infection” represented?
Yet, anyone with even a hint of power should know what it signified.
Could it be that his formidable strength made him indifferent to such things?
Perhaps that was a possibility.
“Um…” Mu Liang felt a little uneasy under the intense gaze of the white-haired girl.
He quickly changed the subject, “I still don’t know your na.”
“I’m Liyue.”
The white-haired girl pursed her lips, her delicate face showing a complicated expression. “And you? What’s your na?”
“Mu Liang. Mu as in ‘shepherd,’ and Liang as in ‘virtuous.’” He introduced himself casually.
“Can I see the flower with wings now?” Liyue’s tone was filled with impatience.
“You can’t see the flower for now,” Mu Liang said helplessly.
“Are you lying to ?”
Liyue’s face darkened, her raspy voice rising. “You promised to show the flower!”
“Don’t be so hasty. I never said I wouldn’t show it to you.”
Mu Liang rolled his eyes and reassured her, “The flower is no longer here.”
“Where is it?” Liyue asked urgently.
“I had my tad beast deliver it to my ho.”
Mu Liang tossed a piece of table leg into the fire and said, “If you really want to see it, you’ll have to co to my place.”
“The flower was sent ho…” Liyue froze montarily.
She recalled the ferocious spider beast she had seen carrying things at the base of the hill.
So that was the one that took the flower away.
But this was odd. Could his ho really be near the thieves’ base?
That was too bold. Wasn’t he afraid of Bloodbeard coming after him?
Unable to suppress her curiosity, Liyue asked, “Your ho is nearby?”
“Yes, it’s close by,” Mu Liang nodded.
“You’re really bold,” Liyue said, her expression strange.
Many of her questions suddenly made sense.
This man’s proximity to the thieves’ base ant he had an intimate knowledge of it, which explained how he could easily infiltrate Bloodbeard’s treasure vault.
“My courage is indeed decent,” Mu Liang mused, thinking of his two “ho raids” in this world.
No, they should be called relocations.
“Bloodbeard is truly unlucky to have encountered you.”
Liyue scanned the surroundings, finding the place in complete disarray.
“Would you like so grilled at?” Mu Liang asked, holding up a skewer.
Liyue glanced at the grilled at, her mouth twitching involuntarily.
Her expression turned odd as she asked, “Aren’t you planning to leave yet?”
“I’ll leave after my tad beast cos back for one more load.”
Mu Liang used his mind to sense the location of his tricolour lizard, which was already climbing the hill.
“Another load?” Liyue froze.
Pointing at the red ghost spider diligently transporting a white cocoon, she asked in confusion, “Isn’t it already doing that?”
“Not Little Red.”
Mu Liang shook his head and gestured behind her with his chin. “The main mover is Little Cai.”
The red ghost spider’s role was rely to stash packed items at the hill’s base.
The heavy lifting back ho was left to the tricolour lizard.
“Little Red? Little Cai?” Liyue didn’t have ti to comnt on the nas.
Turning around, she was startled to see a brightly coloured giant lizard. She jumped back several steps in shock.
“When did it appear? It didn’t make a sound!” Liyue exclaid in disbelief.
“Little Cai, co here.” Mu Liang beckoned the tricolour lizard and began tying rolls of cloth onto its back.
Fifteen rolls in total were stacked on the lizard, making its body appear more than twice its original size.
“…” Liyue suddenly felt a strange pity for the lizard.
A ferocious beast, yet it was reduced to being a porter.
Bang bang bang~~~
To make it easier for the tricolour lizard to exit, the round opening was widened once more.
“Won’t Bloodbeard pass out in fury when he returns?”
Watching Mu Liang’s destructive packing, Liyue muttered, “Feels like… he might actually faint from rage.”
“Let’s go.” Mu Liang, carrying a waterproof bag, called for the white-haired girl to leave.
He fixed the small bucket containing the Crystal Fish to his bag with spider silk, tying a bundle of swords to his lower back.
“Coming…” Liyue glanced at the fully loaded Mu Liang.
Suddenly, she felt she couldn’t leave empty-handed.
The two exited the round opening, preparing to descend the hill.
“Wait for .” Liyue ran back, quickly searching for sothing valuable.
Before long,
the white-haired girl returned carrying a small bucket of water and a bag of jerky.
“Not bad. You’re learning from ,” Mu Liang smiled and gave her a thumbs up.
“I… I just thought it’d be a waste to co here for nothing,” Liyue muttered, her face flushing as she twisted the hem of her clothes.
“That’s the spirit.” Mu Liang nodded approvingly.
Hearing his praise, Liyue felt slightly embarrassed.
But seeing the mountain of items on Mu Liang, the lizard, and the ten white cocoons being lowered by the giant spider,
Liyue instantly felt less self-conscious.
Compared to this man, her haul was nothing.
