Chapter 928: Chapter 927: Let’s go for coffee!

“Beep… beep… beep…”

“Hello… who is it…”

Hao Jian, still half-asleep, was suddenly jolted awake by the ringing of his phone. He rubbed his eyes groggily, fumbled for the answer button, and pressed the phone to his ear.

“Hao Jian! A new internationally renowned coffee shop just opened in Hua City. Will you go with

to check it out?”

The mont he answered, Shu Ya’s bell-like laughter rang through the speaker, making Hao Jian shake his head to wake up fully. Puzzled, he asked, “Coffee shop? Which one?”

“Starbucks, of course! Globally famous!”

“Alright, what ti?”

Hao Jian nodded with a smile and asked.

“Three o’clock. I’ll wait for you outside the company. Don’t be late!”

After saying that, Shu Ya promptly hung up, leaving Hao Jian shaking his head helplessly. He muttered to himself in confusion, “Three o’clock? Is it late already?”

Still puzzled, Hao Jian grabbed the watch sitting on his bedside table and checked the ti. His face froze. Damn it! It was already almost two!

Flipping the corner of his blanket with one hand, he leapt out of bed and rushed to freshen up. As for the rest of the people in the house, like Wen Lan, they had already gone out, leaving Hao Jian alone at ho.

After spending half an hour getting ready—washing up, eating, dressing—Hao Jian grabbed the keys off the table, dashed out the door, and sprinted down the stairs. With one swift step, he jumped into his Enzo, inserted the key, fired up the engine, and sped off in the direction of Shu Ya Group!

Last night, because there were so many dishes, Hao Jian and Li He kept eating through three rounds—starter, main, and dessert—until they’d finished everything on the table.

As for Wen Lan and the other won, they ate only a little before deciding not to overindulge, fearing weight gain. Toward the end, they even went downstairs to the convenience store to haul two cases of beer upstairs for Hao Jian and Li He, saying that, because it was a happy occasion, they would “allow” Hao Jian to drink.

In fact, Hao Jian couldn’t even recall when or how Li He left. All he knew was that he had slept quite well, though his waist was a little sore—strange, considering soone of his “stature” shouldn’t experience such discomfort.

Shaking his head, Hao Jian pushed those thoughts aside and focused on driving toward Shu Ya Group as fast as possible. Shu Ya had told him to arrive before three, and he’d already spent thirty minutes getting ready. With only twenty-sothing minutes left, driving at a normal speed wouldn’t get him there in ti.

But with the Enzo’s top speed, he could still make it in a few minutes. Ignoring everything else, Hao Jian floored the gas pedal, relying on his extraordinary senses to assess the road conditions, weaving left and right, overtaking cars one after another.

At several intersections, traffic officers were conducting vehicle checks, but Hao Jian’s car blew past them so fast that they imdiately mounted their motorcycles to chase him—only to give up after a short pursuit.

“Damn it! Who would dare chase a car like Hao Jian’s?!”

Recognizing the familiar-looking car after comparing it with their records, the officers realized it really was Hao Jian’s vehicle and were too scared to continue pursuing.

“What a joke! In Hua City, who’d dare to chase down Hao Jian’s car?!”

“Phew! Finally made it!”

Seeing the gates of Shu Ya Group ahead, Hao Jian checked the ti and found he was five or six minutes early. He let out a small sigh of relief.

At least this ti, Shu Ya wouldn’t tease him for being late!

As he drew closer, Hao Jian eased off the gas. When his car finally ca to a stop at the entrance, Shu Ya was already there, waiting by the roadside.

The mont she saw his car pull up, Shu Ya smiled slightly, walked briskly to the car, opened the door, and slipped into the passenger seat. Glancing at Hao Jian, she teased, “I thought you’d decide to keep on sleeping…”

She knew full well how hard Hao Jian and Li He had hit the drinks last night—each of them had heroically downed an entire case of beer! Toward the end, it was the won who had to clean up the ss…

When Shu Ya had called earlier, it was just to check if Hao Jian was awake. If he hadn’t been, she would’ve scrapped today’s plan. To her surprise, though, Hao Jian was actually up…

“Hahaha! A bit of beer isn’t enough to knock

out!”

Scratching his head and chuckling awkwardly, Hao Jian laughed it off. In truth, he couldn’t even rember how he ended up falling asleep last night…

“Yeah, right!”

With a roll of her eyes, Shu Ya pointed ahead and said, “The coffee shop is near Yajing Park—it should take around twenty minutes to get there…”

“Leave it to !”

Hao Jian burst into laughter, slamd on the gas, and zood toward the destination Shu Ya had ntioned.

Yajing Park was not a natural park—it was a massive project, funded by the governnt to the tune of ten billion, covering more than a thousand acres. The picturesque site featured an artificial greenhouse filled with a variety of off-season plants and flowers.

It was a popular spot, attracting plenty of visitors daily. Since the governnt had sponsored it and made entry free, they also assigned hundreds of cleaners to maintain the park’s cleanliness, ensuring it stayed pristine.

This had naturally driven up the land prices in the surrounding area. For Starbucks to open a store here, it must’ve taken an enormous investnt—the annual rent alone wasn’t a small figure.

Still, the payoff was worth it. The foot traffic alone brought lucrative returns. Combined with Starbucks’ reputation as one of the top ten coffee brands in the world, the location attracted coffee lovers, couples, and casual visitors alike.

And today, this particular Starbucks was Hao Jian and Shu Ya’s destination. After a fifteen-minute drive, they finally arrived. Seeing the familiar decor at the entrance, Hao Jian smiled faintly.

Sotis, taking a stroll in the park and then stopping by this coffee shop for a cup of coffee felt like a blessing. Even though they hadn’t gone for a walk, simply enjoying a coffee brought its own bit of happiness—especially with such stunning company by his side.

Each of them ordered a mocha and found a quiet, cozy seat by the window. They sat down and began chatting softly, smiling and laughing as they talked. Unlike their usual lively conversations, their voices were noticeably lower, as if the serene atmosphere of the coffee shop had subtly influenced them…

That was perfectly normal—most custors who stepped into this kind of coffee shop instinctively lowered their voices, tiptoeing almost unconsciously, as though afraid any slight noise might shatter the tranquil ambiance.

“Clang!”

“Welco!”

This ti, however, the quiet didn’t last. A group of young n and won suddenly barged through the door. If you counted, there were over ten of them.

They laughed loudly, their manners unrestrained. So of the n openly groped the won by their sides, their hands wandering without any care for appearances.

Surprisingly, the won being teased giggled flirtatiously, seeming to enjoy the attention. The boisterous group instantly caught the attention of everyone else in the coffee shop.

“Get us sothing good! Money’s no object!” shouted the leader, a red-haired man whose speech was brash and insolent. Judging by his looks, he seed to be around twenty-three or twenty-four years old…

Hao Jian also noticed the commotion, giving them a brief sideways glance before looking away. He didn’t care—he’d been in noisier places than this.

He went back to chatting and joking with Shu Ya about trivial matters…

The server, hearing the red-haired leader’s demands, quickly nodded, took the man’s card, processed the paynt, and handed the card back.

“Sir, please take a seat while we prepare your order.”

The red-haired man snorted, waved his hand dismissively, and the rowdy group began looking for seats—eventually picking the table right next to Hao Jian’s.

What had originally been a table for two or three people was forcefully rearranged as they shoved several tables together, taking their seats noisily while talking and laughing without any regard for their volu.

“Brother Rong! There’s nothing interesting in Qingya Park! Just so la plants—how can they call this a 4A-rated tourist spot? Honestly, your mansion’s garden is ten tis more extravagant than this dump!”

One of the younger guys in the group, around twenty years old, eagerly flattered the man they referred to as Brother Rong.

“Haha! Of course! My villa cost over ten billion to build—this park is nothing compared to that! If I weren’t so bored, I wouldn’t even co here. And this so-called Starbucks coffee? Barely good enough for .”

Brother Rong’s voice, filled with disdain, was loud and clear—everyone in the coffee shop could hear it. Not far from their table, a middle-aged man, about forty years old, abruptly shut his book with a dissatisfied expression. He got up and walked toward the counter…

“Excuse , could you kindly address this situation?”
