Chapter 349: Chapter 348: Heroes Compete

However, just at that mont, Hong Zhi spoke up, "The two of you hiding in the desert, aren’t you going to co out and say hello?"

Ye Fan was instantly speechless. They had hidden themselves perfectly; he had even instructed Leng Dao to conceal his power beforehand. He couldn’t believe they had still been discovered. Just as he was about to get up, he saw two figures erge from behind another rocky outcropping.

"As expected of Master Hong Zhi! We hid so well, yet you still found us!"

Damn it! Ye Fan thought, assuming he had been the one exposed.

"So it’s the Gobi Duo," Hong Zhi said. "You’ve co to join the spectacle as well!"

Ye Fan had never heard of the Gobi Duo, but he could sense they were extraordinarily powerful—both were King-Level experts. Individually, they might not have been as strong as Bai Zhii. However, he was certain their combined strength was so great that even Leng Dao might not be able to defeat them.

One of the mbers of the Gobi Duo spoke. "We’re not here for the spectacle, Hong Zhi. We all know what this is about. Of course we’ve co for the Bengyu!"

Indeed, tonight is not going to be peaceful. There were factions on all sides, and none of them were to be trifled with.

Finally, at the stroke of midnight, the moon beca perfectly full, its light flooding the landscape. The entire desert was dyed red as a brilliant sphere of blood suddenly erged from its deepest recesses, pulsing with a crimson glow.

"It’s the Bengyu!" Bai Zhii shouted.

"Get it!"

The King-Level expert under the Dongzheng Emperor imdiately ordered his n to charge, personally leading the way toward the Bengyu.

"How dare you!" Hong Zhi roared, instantly lunging to intercept him.

As an Advanced Buddhist Monk with Emperor-Level strength, Hong Zhi was imnsely powerful. The King-Level expert felt such overwhelming pressure that he abandoned his pursuit of the Bengyu, allowing Hong Zhi to snatch it. In doing so, however, Hong Zhi beca the target of everyone’s fury. He was imdiately besieged by four peak King-Level masters. Although he was an Emperor-Level expert, he wasn’t a high-ranked one and couldn’t create enough of a gap to escape them.

Faced with their combined assault, even his Emperor-Level strength might not be enough to hold them off. Consequently, he had no choice but to hurl the Bengyu back into the desert. At that mont, the most brutal battle yet erupted among the various factions.

"Formation!" Bai Zhii commanded her subordinates, preparing for a decisive battle with the people from the Dongzheng Court.

Although the Dongzheng Court’s forces were nurous, they were not native to the Divine Land. As a result, they were the first to be suppressed by the combined pressure of the other three factions. Their situation was truly, utterly unbearable.

The battle raged on. Hong Zhi and the Gobi Duo ganged up on the King-Level expert from the Dongzheng Court, who was no match for them and could only fight while retreating. Seeing the Bengyu lying unattended in the desert, Leng Dao turned to Ye Fan. "Lord King, should we make a move and grab it?"

Ye Fan’s eyelid twitched. "Wait," he said. "Be wary of a trap."

Although Leng Dao was burning with eagerness, he heeded Ye Fan’s words and resisted the temptation. As the others fought, one of the mbers of the Gobi Duo saw an opening. He imdiately sprinted toward the Bengyu and snatched it.

He cackled maniacally. "The Bengyu is mine! It’s mine! Brother, let’s retreat!"

The words had barely left his lips when a massive, blood-red sickle swept down. Before he even knew what was happening, his body was cleaved in two. This sudden turn of events shocked all the experts present. They truly hadn’t expected it.

"Brother!" the surviving mber of the Gobi Duo cried out in sorrow, but it was too late. His brother had already been cut in half.

The four factions ceased their fighting and stared into the distance, desperate to know who could kill a King-Level expert in a single strike.

Leng Dao was equally perplexed, trembling inwardly. If I had gone up there just now, my fate would have been no better.

He looked at Ye Fan, who said grimly, "They’re vampires from the West! I didn’t expect them to show up."

Leng Dao was instantly horrified. The Vampire Clan had joined the fray. Sure enough, as soon as Ye Fan spoke, they realized the clearing was now surrounded by a large contingent of vampire experts. An enemy that could kill a King-Level expert in a single blow could not possibly be weak. The four factions found themselves surrounded, their expressions grim as they raised their guard.

Ye Fan’s eyelids twitched uncontrollably. I thought it was just my imagination, but it really is them—the ever-present, insidious Vampire Clan.

They had co all the way from the distant West just for the Bengyu. This showed how tempting it was to them; otherwise, they wouldn’t have made such a grand entrance.

Tonight was destined to be a night of slaughter. It was a classic case of the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole hunting it from behind. This oriole, however, was no ordinary bird—it was the Vampire Clan.

Ye Fan was familiar with their power, having once fought a Black Prison Duke of the Blood Clan. The Vampire Clan’s show of force this ti was clearly on a different level than that of a re Duke.

All in all, snatching the Bengyu tonight won’t be easy. Fortunately, Leng Dao and I haven’t revealed our identities yet.

The moonlight grew brighter, casting an eerie glow that turned the center of the desert into a vast, blood-red expanse. Just then, a Vampire Commander descended. He was different from the low-ranking vampires. He wore a green robe covered in dense Latin incantations.

Judging by his attire and the clear vampire hierarchy, Ye Fan instantly identified him. This is a Blood Prince.

Within the Vampire Clan, the rank of Prince was high enough to grant one a seat on the Elder Council. Ye Fan imdiately sensed the terrifying power radiating from this Vampire Prince; he was no less formidable than the expert they had tead up to kill before.

"Filthy vampire, I’ll kill you!" The surviving mber of the Gobi Duo roared, charging at the Vampire Prince.

"Don’t be rash!" Hong Zhi shouted, but he was too late. The man had already reached the prince.

A dense, blood-red fog suddenly materialized in front of the Vampire Prince. The charging man was shocked to find he couldn’t get any closer; he was completely immobilized. Then, the Vampire Prince made his move. He effortlessly seized the man by the neck, extended his long fangs, and bit down.

"AARGH!"

Despite the man’s screams, his body was swiftly reduced to a shriveled corpse, his wide eyes frozen with a look of bitter unwillingness. The Vampire Prince then tossed the body aside contemptuously.

Everyone gasped, sucking in a cold breath. Even Leng Dao and Ye Fan, still hidden, were stunned.

To kill a peak King-Level expert in a single move... this Vampire Prince was simply terrifying.
