Hugo moved through the cinema with a firm grip on Loli's delicate hand, ignoring the small resistance she gave.
She muttered sothing about being able to walk just fine on her own, but he pretended not to hear it and tightened his hold slightly.
There was no way he was letting go now. He had finally secured this date, and there was no telling if Loli would suddenly change her mind and decide to bolt!
She was unpredictable like that!
He could already tell she wasn't used to these emotions—the fear, the nervousness, the possibility of sothing happening between them.
Most likely, she'd try to run away from them if she got scared, and Hugo couldn't afford to let her escape!
He had worked too hard for this mont! This wasn't just a date; it was a mission, a carefully planned operation.
And rule number one? Never lose control of the situation.
The cinema was stunningly designed, with soft golden lights illuminating the sleek, modern interior.
Rows of neon signs flickered with colorful film titles, and the scent of buttery popcorn filled the air, making Hugo's stomach rumble faintly.
Couples strolled around, so holding hands, others whispering into each other's ears while waiting for their turn at the concession stand.
The atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation, people eagerly checking their tickets and searching for their assigned seats.
But Hugo had different plans. He wasn't going to settle for any regular seat in the middle of the theater like so clueless rookie.
No, he rembered Sanchez's wisdom—always go for the back row. That was where legends were made!
"Let's sit at the back," he said smoothly, guiding Loli toward the farthest seats in the theater.
She raised an eyebrow. "Why the back?"
Hugo kept his expression neutral.
He couldn't possibly tell her that he was hoping for one of those mythical cinema make-out sessions he had only heard about but never personally experienced.
That would be way too much honesty for the mont. Instead, he shrugged casually. "Better view. Less noise. More comfortable."
Loli gave him a skeptical look but sat down anyway.
Victory!
Hugo barely had a second to enjoy his small victory when he suddenly felt an intense stare burning into the side of his face.
He turned his head slightly, and his eyes t a familiar figure sitting a few rows ahead: Luna.
She was staring at him with a strange mix of surprise and irritation, her lush lips slightly parted as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing.
Hugo felt the urge to smirk. Oh? She didn't expect him to actually have a date, did she?
And not just any date, but one as stunning as Loli?
Hehe....it felt good!
He leaned back in his seat, feeling a smug sense of satisfaction bubble in his chest. But then, he rembered sothing.
Luna had been a total nace between him and Jessica. She had played her little mind gas, stirred up trouble, and left him hanging.
His smugness quickly faded into annoyance. He had enough problems on his plate already, Luna better not try anything tonight.
He didn't need any distractions. With a slight glare, he turned his attention back to the movie screen, hoping she would just mind her own business for once!
Then he saw the movie title.
[Flirty Karma]
Hugo's brain stopped working for a second.
'Wait. What?'
His eyes widened slightly as he turned to Loli. She was calmly adjusting her seat, totally unbothered.
His mind raced. Was this a trap? A secret test? Did she pick this movie just to ss with him?
But no, that didn't make sense. She had suggested this date when they were on good terms.
It had to be a coincidence. Yeah. Definitely. Right?
Still, he couldn't help but feel uneasy. He sank into his seat and muttered, "I have a bad feeling about this."
The movie started, opening with a codic scene where the male lead was rushing to work, only for a series of ridiculous accidents to delay him—spilling coffee on himself, getting locked out of his apartnt, and even getting chased by an angry dog.
It wasn't really the scenes that were funny, it was the narrator's choice of words.
The audience chuckled slightly, and Hugo allowed himself to relax a little. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.
He could enjoy the movie a bit before focusing on apologizing, right?

But then he froze.
The male lead… looked exactly like him!
Like, exactly. Sa ssy dark hair, similar smirk, even the sa casual yet annoyingly attractive way he carried himself!
Loli turned her head ever so slightly, gave him a knowing glance, and shook her head.
Hugo's jaw dropped. "Oi! You're judging already?! You don't even know what kind of guy he is yet!"
Loli rolled her eyes. "I don't need to. I can already tell."
Hugo clutched his chest dramatically. "This is slander! What if he turns out to be a great guy? Huh? Ever thought about that?"
Loli humd thoughtfully but didn't say anything. Hugo pouted, crossing his arms. He refused to accept this unfair judgnt.
Thirty minutes later, he sighed and rubbed his temples.
"…I was wrong," he admitted in defeat.
The male lead was, in fact, a jerk.
Hugo groaned internally as he watched the on-screen version of himself juggle multiple won, lie through his teeth, and play dumb whenever he got caught.
This guy was an absolute nace. Every ti he smirked and got away with sothing, Hugo wanted to reach through the screen and slap him.
He had single handedly ruined Hugo's defenses!
Loli was silently enjoying his suffering, occasionally glancing at him with a smug little smile.
Hugo clenched his fists. 'This man is compounding my problems!'
As the movie continued, Hugo slumped in his seat, letting out a long sigh. "…Not all n are bad," he muttered under his breath.
Loli snorted. "Mhm. Keep telling yourself that."
Hugo groaned again, covering his face with his hands. This was going to be a long night.
