Chapter 2384: Chapter 2374: Residence!
Lu Wujue froze slightly, clearly recognizing Long Yan’s voice. What surprised him wasn’t just why Long Yan was here—it was the black flas on Long Yan’s body.
The black flas on Long Yan’s body seed almost sentient, showing no sign of extinguishing under the snowstorm. Instead, they burned even more vigorously, like a reaper in the storm.
Lu Wujue leapt up from the snow, but it was too late to rescue Long Yan now. Even wielding the Supre Sword would make no difference. Long Yan had already ventured into the very heart of the snowstorm. With Lu Wujue’s eyesight, he could no longer see Long Yan’s figure—not even the traces of those black flas.
He couldn’t help but let out a silent sigh. Elder Tiancheng landed lightly beside Lu Wujue. Just monts ago, he too had seen Long Yan dash inside. Watching the increasingly ferocious snowstorm, even Elder Tiancheng himself couldn’t guarantee survival in such conditions.
Long Yan was rely a junior at the Divine Emperor Second Order. Being corrupted by this snowstorm made it impossible for him to survive.
“Adding to the casualties in vain—enough, enough.”
Seeing the desolation on his friend’s face, even the previously invincible Sword Saint didn’t quite know how to offer comfort.
On Long Yan’s side, though his situation was slightly worse than the two experts had anticipated, it wasn’t far off. His body was already encrusted in a thick layer of frost. The rosy complexion he once had had turned deathly pale. Every step forward was a colossal challenge for Long Yan.
“Hold on! If you fall now, all efforts will be for nothing.”
Yun Huang’s spirited voice didn’t muster any real strength in Long Yan. His eyelids seed to be battling against each other, as he looked on the verge of drifting into unconsciousness. Despite the bone-piercing cold coursing through him, Long Yan couldn’t resist the overwhelming pull of drowsiness.
The black flas surrounding Long Yan grew weaker and weaker. If the gap in strength weren’t so vast, facing a snowstorm of this magnitude would certainly have been overwhelming. Yet now, with even his True Qi nearly drained by these flas, it was futile. Just maintaining this feeble state was pushing Long Yan to the edge.
“Human, why have you entered my domain?”
Just as Long Yan was about to collapse face-first into the snow, a voice echoed in his mind. At the sa ti, a formless force lifted his body.
“I only wish to awaken you—not bear any ill will.”
Long Yan shuddered from head to toe, but he managed to force a response. This was truly a critical mont of life and death. However, after Xueyao regained clarity, Long Yan couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
“Why do you bear the Martial God Array?”
The Martial God Array on Long Yan’s back was radiating a gentle, colorful glow. Without its support, Long Yan likely would have been consud by the snowstorm long ago. In the snowstorm-covered area ahead of him, a massive figure began to take form.
Though Xueyao possessed the true bloodline of a God-Beast, it lacked the cultivation to take human form. On this point, the Fire Qilin Zhiyan differed greatly from Xueyao. Long Yan wasted no ti and recounted how he beca the vessel for the Five Sacred Beasts.
The air turned silent for a long while. It seed as though Xueyao was deliberating the authenticity of Long Yan’s statent. A cold surge of True Qi swept through Long Yan’s body—it was Xueyao probing the Martial God Array.
“It seems you’re not lying.”
After a long mont, the voice echoed once again in Long Yan’s mind. It appeared Xueyao believed him. What Long Yan didn’t know, however, was that God-Beasts possessed an innate ability to discern goodwill from malice. Initially, Zhiyan had attacked him outright because it had sensed Xing Rou’s wary hostility. Yet now, Long Yan was so numbed from the storm that no malice could surface, let alone dominate him.
But this didn’t an Long Yan was entirely without malice. After all, the sun within Long Yan’s Sea of Consciousness constantly radiated ill intent. Xueyao, however, chose to disregard it.
“So, what you want is my help, correct?”
Xueyao’s voice carried a tinge of hesitation. It had only just awakened but retained mories of its previous outbursts and the battle with Lu Wujue. If it were to assist Long Yan, it would cost Xueyao a considerable amount of Spiritual Energy.
“Yes,”
Long Yan admitted truthfully. However, Xueyao’s next words left him stunned.
“Why should I help you?”
Xueyao’s question was perfectly reasonable—there was no reason to assist Long Yan. Besides, there had never been any records of a Phoenix lineage inheritance arising. Thus, Long Yan could only rely on the items in his possession to negotiate.
“But if you can persuade that sword-wielding old man to find a place to reside, of course, I’ll help you in return.”
With a shift in tone, Xueyao proposed its terms. Humans who bore the Martial God Array were invariably Heaven’s Proud Sons. Still, Xueyao couldn’t fathom why this particular human was so weak. That montary pause earlier had stemd from the absence of resentnt typically generated by slain God-Beasts. Instead, there was a peculiar Sacred Beast blessing, which left Xueyao bewildered.
In other words, the God-Beasts had willingly beco part of Long Yan’s Martial God Array—a fact that astonished Xueyao. Though Xueyao wasn’t especially close to the Five Sacred Beasts, it decided to bestow this opportunity upon Long Yan. After all, anyone with the blessing of a Sacred Beast would be regarded favorably by all God-Beasts.
Of course, Long Yan himself was unaware of this Sacred Beast blessing. It was rely a signal for communication between God-Beasts, serving as undeniable proof of the blessing on him.
“Alright, leave it to this junior.”
Patting his chest, Long Yan pledged. Xueyao nodded in approval and dispelled the storm enveloping the area. As the Spiritual Energy dissipated, Long Yan’s body imdiately collapsed into the snow. Where the snow once only reached his knees, it now nearly engulfed his chest. It was hard to tell how much ti had passed.
Turning his gaze upwards, Long Yan saw Lu Wujue and Elder Tiancheng staring at him from a high point with dumbfounded expressions. It seed that, in this Sacred Domain, only Long Yan could elicit such a reaction from the two formidable experts.
“Holy crap! This kid actually ca out alive and even subdued a God-Beast,”
Lu Wujue cursed aloud—a rare break in composure. The issue he had agonized over for two days was resolved by a greenhorn like Long Yan? He wondered if he was dreaming, as everything felt so unreal.
Long Yan felt a shiver run down his spine under their astonished stares, unsure of what to say for himself. After all, he’d just violated Tianshan Sect’s ban by venturing into its forbidden back mountain.
With a slight exertion of his legs, Long Yan shot out of the snow as nimbly as pulling scallions from dry soil. His toes lightly grazed the snow’s surface, propelling him toward the two figures on the high ground.
“Senior Lu, Elder Tiancheng!”
