Capítulo 920: Chapter 6: Rainbow Descending from the Heavens

“Wow! The travel group is really extravagant now, your ship looks great.”

The blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman looked around the bridge in amazent, while the crew observed this naturally social guest. She wore a custom black military uniform, draped with a white coat with golden trims, and high heels that weren’t very practical for moving around. Her gun holster bulged at her waist, and her waist-length blonde hair curled playfully at the ends.

“Lady, how did you know we’re foreigners?” Gongsun curiously (correct version) asked, “Listen, I’m quite confident in my universal language skills, people from the Country say my accent sounds like I’m from the United State.”

The blonde woman laughed again; she seed to love laughing.

“Don’t be silly, kid! There’s no local who’d sail a tal ship near Xuan Ci State; it would fall apart with a magnetic storm.”

“Our ship has protective force fields.” Qiluo retorted defiantly.

“You see,” the blonde woman winked, “Anyone saying ‘Our ship is a high-end product from the capital of the sky’ ‘My force field generator is powerful enough’ ‘I made thorough preparations beforehand’… all of them are outsiders, used to staying on their own turf and haven’t suffered from nature here.”

Gongsun Ce didn’t sense any malice from this person and extended his hand to the woman: “That’s indeed an angle we’re not aware of. Nice to et you, ma’am. I’m Gongsun Ce, captain of this Dawn Star. I presu you’re not a soldier?”

Gongsun Ce was certain this person was not a proper soldier since no officer would permit their subordinate to modify a uniform so drastically: the slit on the skirt was unusually high, the upper part of the neckline had no buttons, leaving almost half of her smooth skin exposed, showcasing her impressive figure with bold attitude. Four years ago, he might not have been able to take his eyes off it; now, thanks to Qiluo’s subtle influence, he could maintain such a calm deanor.

“I customized this outfit using spoils of war myself, isn’t it pretty?” The blonde woman shook his hand, “I’m Seviss, a ranger. Judging by your route, are you heading to Colorful Stone City?”

Colorful Stone City is the capital of Xuan Ci State and the first destination of their trip.

“As you guessed.”

“Then I suggest you stop the ship imdiately, and if you’re in a real hurry, take a detour.” Seviss pointed her thumb backward, “I just ca from there; the whole area is full of magnetic storms, communications signals can’t get out, and diving in would definitely lead to trouble.”

Qin Qianbai leaned in close to Shiyu Ling, whispering, “What’s a magnetic storm?”

“One of the abnormal climates in this area.” Shiyu Ling motioned outside the window, where colored ‘tracks’ extended in regular patterns in the clear sky, occasionally showing tal pieces or ores moving uniformly. Dawn Star had activated its protective force field five minutes ago, isolating the alloy hull from the tracks’ influence.

“Different colored magnetic tracks represent various magnetic strengths. Generally, magnetic tracks operate independently, without interference, but occasionally they cross each other…”

Not far from the ship’s side, two red and green tracks intersected. A screw traveling along the red track reached the junction point. The opposing directions and varying magnetic strengths instantaneously tore the screw apart, scattering tal fragnts farther along their respective tracks.

Qiluo shivered silently.

“Is it scary, Miss Qiluo?” Dawn Knight asked with slight curiosity.

“Waa, I often stay active on my phone,” Qiluo said with a mournful face, “It feels like watching a killing machine…”

“Indeed, that’s when AIs would be in big trouble,” Shiyu Ling chuckled, “And when the number of magnetic track interweavings reaches a certain level, chain reactions lead to prolonged, widespread magnetic field chaos, which is what the ranger referred to as a magnetic storm.”

Seviss twitched her nose slightly, as if suffering from pollen allergies, and laughed: “Imagine walking down the street and suddenly hundreds of nails fly at you from all directions…”

“Ah!”

Qiluo let out a scream, clinging to Gongsun Ce’s arm like a sloth. Gongsun Ce smiled helplessly: “I understand how dangerous this is now, thanks for the warning, Miss Seviss. Is there anything we can assist you with?”

Seviss twitched her nose: “? I haven’t ntioned anything yet, have I?”

“If you’re only intending to give a friendly warning, you wouldn’t chat with us strangers for so long,” Gongsun Ce adjusted his glasses, glancing at Dawn Knight, “What do you think, Alandia? I suspect her trouble is related to her ship.”

“I think Miss Seviss needs water and organic materials because her Wood chanism ship is low on fuel,” Dawn Knight stated.

Seviss’s eyes widened, looking between the two: “Mind Reading Technique?”

“Just a little deduction. You just sailed back from the danger zone but showed no apparent damage. You lack trust in protective equipnt, indicating you have other ans to avoid magnetic storms… such as a non-tallic ship.” Gongsun Ce smiled, “Alandia, what is a Wood chanism ship?”

“It’s a specialty from the chanical State, using plants as raw materials for natural machinery,” explained Dawn Knight, “And travelers frequently face issues with resource and fuel scarcity, which makes this a reasonable assumption.”

The ranger clapped in admiration: “Amazing, huh! My ship indeed needs watering, so can I shalessly hitch a ride? Just drop off at a town.”
