Chapter 839: Chapter 45: Your Story (Part 2)_3
At this mont, he was so grateful that Alandia had not transford into a God, for such power used without limit would bring fear, as the mortals were far from ready to enter the era she could lead.
He gasped for air and sat down beside the Knight again. “My goodness,” Gongsun Ce muttered, “You… really… it’s so good you didn’t turn into that. I was scared.”
He heard the Knight say softly, “I was scared too.”
Gongsun Ce turned his head dazedly to et her gray eyes. In her eyes was undisguised fear, a fear stemming from herself.
“I almost abandoned my identity and went far away. Alandia Helison would cease to exist, but you brought her back.”
She opened her arms, encircling the boy’s shoulders, bringing a gentle hug.
Gongsun Ce, stunned, leaned into her embrace, completely dazed for a mont. He had had many fantasies in his idle monts, but he never imagined he would one day be so close to her. His chest rested against the soft warmth like hills, his face pressed against her neck, able to sll her scent.
“I… did not…” Gongsun Ce stamred, thinking his face must be burning red, “I… I’m not… just…”
Alandia released him, gently patting the boy’s shoulder.
“That day you said you wouldn’t share your past with casual acquaintances, and I’m the sa. I also find it difficult to asure the distance between people, but I think you are a friend worthy of opening my heart.”
So, she told him the story of her past.
So, she gave the boy a hug.
Because she still rembered that conversation from that night, rembered Gongsun Ce advising her to give a friend a hug.
Gongsun Ce nervously adjusted his glasses, his mind a whirlwind of chaos. Complex thoughts surged in his chest, leaving him with so much to say yet unable to speak. He said quietly, “Just… friends?”
Alandia blinked and suddenly brought up an unrelated topic.
“Mr. Gongsun, would you like to beco an honorary mber of the Knight Order?”
“Ah? Of course, I would be delighted, but this… why?”
This ti he really didn’t understand the other’s logic. Alandia pressed her knuckles to her forehead, pondering for quite a while before saying, “This way I can officially make you my knight attendant. But I’m not sure if your words at that ti were a taphor…”
—I’ll be your attendant!
Having his hasty words repeated face to face was practically an open punishnt, Gongsun Ce grabbed his hair furiously, shouting, “No! Of course! We’ve agreed no takebacks! I’m telling you, don’t regret it argue and there’s no going back!”
Alandia helped tidy his collar and sincerely said, “I’m very happy.”
She smiled joyfully, with the happiness of a child making her first friend.
Gongsun Ce mumbled, “Being an attendant is a bit grander than being a friend…right?”
“I suppose it is,” Alandia stood up, reaching out to him. He grabbed the Knight’s hand and stood up, hearing her say, “May I change what I call you?”
“Ah?”
“Lately you’ve started calling ‘Alandia.’
Only then did Gongsun Ce realize he had unconsciously grown accustod to calling her by na directly. He was about to say she could call him anything she liked, but suddenly a thought arose in his mind. Like a prank, a little thought from a teenage boy.
“How about calling ‘Ce’?” Gongsun Ce bravely said, “You see, it’s simple and shows a closer relationship, right?”
He secretly added in his heart, like an intimate little couple.
Alandia’s gaze seed to penetrate into his soul, making Gongsun Ce shrink back involuntarily. He thought his little thought had been seen through, but Dawn Knight just smiled and said, “Let’s go, Ce.”
Gongsun Ce exhaled deeply and hurried to follow. They went down the stairs step by step, their conversation carried away by the wind.
“I still think I should give you a tangible reward, not just limited to a hug. A ‘commission’? Or a ‘request’?”
“Please don’t, it’s not good for my heart.”
“Why?”
“No reason! Don’t say ‘request’ to a teenage boy, okay?”
“Oh…”
“And stop sighing so aningfully! Hey, you forr Lie Master, you figured it out early and now you’re teasing , right?”
“What do you think, Ce?”
“I didn’t think anything at all! Alright, so… oh right, that pocket watch of yours, I’ve been eyeing it for a while, give it to !”
“Sure.”
The silver chain jingled softly, and the Knight took out the pocket watch, placing it in her attendant’s hand.
“You’re really giving it?! Wait, suddenly I regret it, can’t I choose again and think of a better reward—”
“No.”
“There’s no chance for a next ti!”
Dawn Knight walked to the car, opened the driver’s door, and made a ‘please’ gesture: “That depends on your performance, my attendant. I rember you have a driver’s license.”
“Just kidding, I even have a license to fly a large aircraft.” Gongsun Ce pushed his glasses, “Please, Miss Knight.”
The car steadily left the East District, carrying the two of them to their current residence.
