Chapter 536: Chapter 35: The Return of the Demon_3

Under the mountain of ironclad evidence, the truth was nailed down; in recent years, the new students mostly couldn’t believe it, but they were convinced by the evidence. The old city dwellers who had long since arrived in Do City weren’t too surprised, for they had once seen that invisible demon.

The young Superpower Users looked at the equally young face on the screen, the refined Aorus shedding tears because of the truth he revealed. He stood under the statue, right in the light, before countless bloody truths. His helplessness and resolve almost infected those outside the screen, making people involuntarily feel empathetic sympathy, filled with righteous indignation.

Inside Saint Chagette Cathedral, Aorus gave a hoarse speech on the stage, grief-stricken. He had been too agitated earlier. He had spoken too much tonight. Anyone could hear his sorrow, anyone could see his determination.

“…Gongsun Ce and I were once good friends on the sa ship. We went through the most difficult tis together, and it was then I ca to see his true nature. He was not a truly wicked person; he had an extraordinary mind and decisiveness, but there was a destructive desire hidden within him, even he couldn’t control! That terrifying emotion took control of this innocent young man, his power even instantly tore apart the Abraham-class spaceship built by the United States during the secret war era, forcing the heroes of that ti to intervene and rescue!”

Aorus paused to give the audience ti to discuss. He watched the guests in the hall with satisfaction, manipulating their actions as simply as if he were playing with puppets.

Gongsun Ce prided himself on his lies but didn’t realize the real deception needed only the truth to suffice. One-sided information, obscure truths, half-truths hidden within; this was enough to manipulate everyone’s hearts. Even the crafty Thunderbolt and the plunderers danced in his palms, and the cyclone’s heart, the Jester, was extrely vulnerable, breakable with just one letter.

Now it was ti for adversaries, a sacrifice to the chaos before battle. Wasn’t Red Lion planning to make a move? He gleefully watched the unhinged look in Kaldesia Spencer’s eyes, unsurprisingly noticing a hand resting on her shoulder.

The doctor would stop her. The doctor always remained removed, wise to keep herself safe, which was exactly why she had been invited here. He didn’t even need to say anything else, for the audience would deduce the implications themselves: Aorus’s words were so correct that even Gongsun Ce’s friends couldn’t defend him.

Things were going so smoothly it bored him.

Aorus blinked, concealing his smile, returning to sorrow.

“I sent Gongsun Ce a letter. I hoped all my suspicions were wrong, I sincerely invited him here, hoping he would clear his na in front of everyone and prove the truth! But he didn’t give a reply, only a cold rejection. I do not know if tonight the demon will take to the streets again, I dare not imagine what horrifying acts of evil he will commit hereafter!”

“The order established by heroes needs successors to maintain. I thought he would take up this responsibility, but instead, he beca the criminal who personally destroyed this order. In these two weeks alone, too many people have died!”

Budman slamd down his gavel harshly, saying, “Blood for blood.”

“Blood for blood,” Thunderbolt echoed grimly.

“Blood for blood! Blood for blood!”

mbers of the Mutual Assistance Association, other organizations, and even thousands of young people outside the church, all roared at the sa mont.

“Blood will be repaid with blood, but revenge is not rely about fighting. We take up arms to protect the future’s peace, we enter the battlefield to reclaim the majority’s tomorrow!”

“As the leader of the Light Core, I, Aorus Otimis, promise that I will do my utmost to take up the heroes’ burden and protect our city. But the strength of one person is ultimately limited, friends of Do City, unmatched Superpower Users, please lend your power, entrust your faith in .”

Aorus raised his hands solemnly, issuing the last declaration of this speech.

“Let us together protect this beautiful city, defeat the blood-drenched demon!”

The reaction inside the church was like thunder exploding. The thunder was so massive it shook the entire church, the thunder was so impactful it made the church bells outside also roar madly.

Boom! Boom! The chis of the bell kept ringing, thunder resounding in ears, Saint Chagette Cathedral continued to shake. But no one clapped, no one exclaid, before they could really make a noise, the booming sound had already reached their ears!

The bell rang like a ringing bell, crazily shaking outside the church, finally breaking under the strain, contributing a deafening explosion to tonight’s performance.

Then the walls shattered, the furniture was ground to dust, the solemn murals peeled off like erosion, all the lights extinguished like candle flas, smoke scattered behind Aorus, the holy statue unknowingly recarved into a ridiculous clown.

It seed as if Saint Chagette Cathedral was swallowed by an invisible beast, its might changing everything in an instant. The guests still stood on the spot, not knowing what to do. There was no longer a hall, nor a do; the building that was the church turned to countless smoke and dust in the blink of an eye, leaving them standing under the night sky, exposed to the pouring rain!

And then, the downpour abruptly stopped.

No more drops of rain could be heard hitting the ground, heavy footsteps resounded in the darkness.

“Did I hear soone calling for the demon?”

The smoke and dust of what was once a church explosively dispersed, and a black and red figure erged in the silence. He was dressed in black, his hair gray, a black and red cape fluttering behind him; his past clown-like attire, this night, was like that of a conquering demon king.

Gongsun Ce clenched his fist. Thus, the last remaining clown statue also shattered, gray-white fragnts fluttering down, like fireworks mocking the army of justice.

He smiled contentedly.

“Now, the demon has arrived.”
