Chapter 560: Chapter 554: Accident Continued

Finn Lewis nodded, looking up. The light in the corridor was soft, seeming to emanate from the very material it was made of. There didn’t seem to be any lighting fixtures. The floor was even and smooth, while the walls had a curved structure starting from the sides and moving upwards.

The side walls were also clean, nothing visible. About thirty ters ahead, the corridor bent out of sight.

“Hello, anyone there?” Finn paused before calling out.

“Hello.” A gentle voice echoed in the corridor, speaking Mandarin. The sound of this voice relaxed Finn. The unknown is always the most terrifying. Since soone had responded, it ant he could communicate, especially since the person was speaking Mandarin.

“Hello, who are you?” Finn inquired tentatively.

“I am the ship’s main control AI. Please call Dido. Welco back.” The gentle voice replied.

“What do you an welco back, Dido?” Finn was taken aback. Welco back? Could it be that he had been here before?

“You hold the highest authority of this spaceship. Naturally, I am welcoming you back. May I ask your na?” The AI system nad Dido queried.

Finn: “What the hell, I hold the highest authority of this spaceship? How was I not aware of that?”The spaceship seed to have crashed more than 10,000 years ago. I was born just over twenty years ago and this is my first ti here. There is no way I have the highest authority here.”

“You do hold the highest authority here. There is no doubt about this. Lifespan doesn’t an everything.” Dido replied.

Finn’s mouth twitched, “Damn it. You are not a fortuneteller, you are an AI. What’s this about lifespan doesn’t an everything?” But Finn didn’t want to argue with Dido about this. Since it stated so, then it must be so.

“Alright, Dido, My na is Finn Lewis.” He revealed his na to the AI system before asking: “Could you please tell if the ship is empty? I also inspected the entire ship from the outside—it seems to be damaged. Is that right?”

“Do you want to perform a self-check?” Dido asked.

“Begin self-check.” Finn ordered concisely.

“Command confird. Self-check has started.”

“Life support system is normal, Power system is damaged by 98% Backup energy system is damaged by 12%, Air circulation system is normal, The space-warp system is completely damaged, the defensive shield is completely damaged, The main engine is completely damaged, Warehouse number 1 is intact, Warehouse number 2 is intact, Warehouse number 3 is intact, Warehouse 4 to 10 housing ergency supplies are intact, The weapons storage is intact, and The Rack of Mind Crystals is 32% empty, with a remaining storage of 68%. Self-check complete. With all systems currently running, the spaceship completely lost its ability to leave the planet’s surface and requires maintenance. However, the ergency supplies are short by 97%. There are inadequate supplies for repair.” Dido reported.

Well, not a piece of good news, thought Finn. It’s absurd but it seems I have the spaceship’s highest authority. Unfortunately, the spaceship is mostly damaged and it appears it won’t fly again, even the backup energy system got damaged. At least the damage is not too severe, otherwise I guess I would have to resort to brute force to get it running. Not even a glimr of hope for repair was given. I suppose this thing is going to stay in this spot in its lifeti. However, that might be a good thing. How else could we continue our dispute with Fla Nation and the Philippines if, one day, Floral Island simply flew away?

“What does the supply warehouse contain?” Finn asked, curious about the contents of the many supply warehouses here. These supplies might be the biggest gains he could make from this trip.

“I’m not completely certain about the specific items in the warehouse. The relevant information has been encrypted, I can only unlock the relevant information once the warehouses have been opened to know what’s inside for certain.” Dido explained.

“Who encrypted it? How can it be decrypted?” Finn asked imdiately.

“You.” Dido answered tersely.

“What?” Finn was taken aback.

“You are the person who encrypted it.” Dido repeated.

Finn felt a wave of unease. You’ve got to be joking! The one who encrypted it? Can you not see that I have never been here before? Finn couldn’t help but roll his eyes. But it wasn’t like he could argue with a computer. So, he nonchalantly asked, “Olivia, can you still reach ?”

“Yes.” Olivia’s voice rang out.

“I detected an external signal. Should I block this signal intrusion?” Dido’s voice echoed right after.

“Don’t. You two can communicate. She’s an auxiliary intelligence system I have outside. Actually, you two are so sort of kindred spirits.” Finn shrugged and remarked. He didn’t care whether Dido could understand. He wasn’t too clear about it himself—whether Dido was more advanced than him or not.

“Command confird. I can share my information with her.” Dido determinedly responded, “I have opened the information port.”

“My lord, I am able to connect to her database now. However, her database is extensive, I need more ti to fully connect to it. This might take a few weeks.” Olivia confird promptly.

“Can’t it be shortened? A few weeks? By then, it might all be too late. I want to know what’s inside now.” Finn inquired.

“I’ve given an upgrade solution. It’s in our exchange system. Including the part just unlocked, the upgrade requires around 2.3 million points.” Olivia didn’t beat about the bush and straightforwardly gave him the best configuration. 2.3 million points? Even though he now had more than 8 million points on his hands, it still stung to spend so many points.

However, it’s a good bargain, since it could greatly enhance Olivia’s performance and undoubtedly be of great help to Finn. He was accustod to Olivia’s current performance. Now that Olivia was sowhat limited, “Go on with the exchange. Have soone install it as soon as possible. How long will it take in total?” Finn briskly asked.

“My lord, I am afraid the replacent is likely to be delayed for so ti.” Olivia played down his expectations.

“Why?” Finn paused, then asked curiously.

“Currently, I am able to communicate with smart robots. Upon replacent, it is unlikely I’ll be able to communicate with you from such a distance for a while, because our global communication system has not yet been universally deployed.” Olivia explained regretfully.

“But it always worked just fine before this, how co it suddenly can’t work now?” Finn was astonished. It was not a problem previously, it simply required changing the host machine. How co it can’t work now?
