By the ti Lin Yiyi realized that this "opponent" would join their team, she already understood... the mission probably wouldn’t require them to lift a finger.
Just like the ti they were led by GSD to clear the tower...
The players would just silently clear the highest difficulty of the whole map while the big boss was around.
Have you ever considered GSD’s feelings?
No! You only thought about yourself!
And the scenes of the past seed to be repeating today...
Splat——
Crimson translucent tentacles, delicate as sharp spears, shot out from the half body of the young man with honey-colored hair. His entire right arm had transford into a deadly weapon, completely impaling the attacker and nailing the scattered body against the walls of the alley.
Totally different from the form used in "battle" with Jiu’er.
The red spear that Henry Walden’s right arm had morphed into this ti had sharp spikes, reminiscent of the fangs of a wild beast.
By the ti it had pierced the bodies of the enemies, they had completely lost the ability to struggle.
Rip——
As the sturdy spear quickly softened and the fine, crimson tentacles spread throughout the alley, a sharp tearing sound resounded as they retracted back to Henry, once more transforming into his right arm.
The enemies that were impaled, wrapped up by the arm, shrieked as their bodies emitted creaking noises, crushed by an invisible force, and vanished directly in the torrent made by the sharp maw of the spear.
——As if they were directly consud by this demonic hand.
Even the blood and flesh in the alley were licked up and swallowed by the unseen force, leaving none behind.
Not even a single drop of blood was left to prove that a fierce battle had taken place here; only the nicks and scratches on the wall remained.
"It always feels like we’re the villains..."
Xitan Pulan complained.
Lin Yiyi shrugged, "No big deal, A-God is the main character after all."
"Are you talking about A-God or A-Uncle?"
"I think they’re pretty much the sa. But soone like Mr. Henry is more like A-God."
Lin Yiyi mocked, "These people with surnas starting with A, they all seem like main characters with a villain’s face..."
"What are you talking about?"
Henry Walden ca over curiously, his voice light as he asked, "Are you saying I look like a villain?"
His voice and gaze were constantly suffused with a gentleness that was utterly at odds with his nearly cruel combat style.
It was as though it wasn’t his arm transford into a sharp spear tearing through the enemies’ bodies... but rather, he was gently touching the wings of a butterfly.
"We were just saying, sir, that your combat style is a bit... cool?"
Jiu’er chid in tentatively from the side, "Right?"
Henry was amused, "Why are you asking , then?"
"However, Sacrificial Saint..."
Xitan Pulan, in his Spiritual Body form, emitted an echoey, ethereal sound, "Do we not need to keep any prisoners for interrogation?"
When Xitan Pulan posed this question, Henry suddenly revealed a sowhat eerie smile.
At that instant, Sii felt a sudden sweet and sticky presence in the air. He unconsciously touched his face and looked at the back of his hand, realizing there was no grease on his skin, nor blood.
Everyone else seed oblivious to anything.
The once Knight of the Holy Grail, the Goddess of Cup’s protégée—now known as the Sacrificial Saint, had a downward glance, seemingly imbibing a sense of unclear compassion.
"Unnecessary. Yes, unnecessary," he repeated.
Whether it was various types of wounds covering his body, or his light golden eyes as clear as wine, along with his gentle tone... all seed to accentuate a harmless and compassionate feeling.
He slowly closed his eyes as if savoring rich wine.
And yet, the words that ca from his mouth struck a completely discordant note of danger, "I have kissed their blood, I have tasted their desires..."
As Saint Henry spoke, the wounds on his body suddenly all began to bleed.
"Your Excellency?!"
Lin Yiyi cried out, "Are you injured?"
"——No, he has sensed our arrival," ca the reply.
The response was in the voice of a young boy, immature and tender.
The speaker was completely invisible.
Yet the voice seed to whisper intimately into their ears.
But in stark contrast to that voice, there was reason and wisdom in the words, "Before the blood hunter, no secrets can exist. For ’secrets’ and ’desires’ are intimate sisters..."
"That’s enough,"
Henry Walden said warmly.
As he reopened his eyes, the impression that this "adversary" gave was completely different all at once.
Lin Yiyi and Si Dark Pupil’s pupils instantly contracted—they both felt unmistakably that their hearts were beating abnormally strong, as if palpitating, and the thudding of their heartbeats was even shaking their eardrums to the point of humming.
An intense feeling of fear welled up without reason.
Their knees were trembling slightly... their backs were so tense that the muscles almost snapped, and sweat oozed from their palms.
And they hadn’t even confronted him.
rely being in the presence of Saint Henry... no, it would be more accurate to say, just getting a whiff of his scent was enough to make their bodies instinctively fear.
... But why didn’t Jiu’er react?
Lin Yiyi looked at Jiu’er with so curiosity.
The excitent and curiosity of expecting to see deities fight managed to dilute the fear sowhat.
She endured the intense discomfort in her heart and sent a private ssage to Jiu’er:
"—How are you feeling now, is there anything uncomfortable?"
But she received no reply.
"Jiu’er?"
Lin Yiyi suddenly realized sothing was wrong.
She saw that Jiu’er’s pupils, for so unknown reason, had turned a deep crimson.
She raised her head, staring at the sun... mumbling sothing under her breath.
"There’s no need to panic, Miss Yiyi,"
Sacrificial Saint said softly, "She is helping call forth the Goddess of Cup.
"[Sacrificial Flesh] has suppressed my Divine Ability, so I had to find another believer of the Goddess of Cup to help complete the ritual..."
"...Was it when you attacked Jiu’er?"
Lin Yiyi realized.
Perhaps at that mont, Henry had embedded sothing into Jiu’er’s skin.
Her brows furrowed tightly, as she resisted the fear in her heart and looked up at the saint, "You..."
"—Shh."
The saint lowered his eyelids, holding a finger in front of his lips.
As a thunderous heartbeat erupted from Jiu’er’s body, the world around them turned a pure crimson in the blink of an eye.
It was not blood that splattered from her body... but the "do" of the world above had turned into a deep red abyss at so point.
—That was the mouth of the cup.
Lin Yiyi, who had once experienced the "Ceremony: Untouched Heart Sings," imdiately recognized it.
"That’s a fine thing indeed..."
"It indeed is a fine thing."
An ancient and exhausted voice that seed to drain all its energy just by speaking arose, "The blood of the saint... do you plan to give the holy relic to this child?"
Only nine seconds had passed since the last thunderous noise.
A booming sound of thunder ca from Jiu’er once more.
It was the sound of a heartbeat magnified hundreds, thousands of tis.
Lin Yiyi, with her silver-rank strong body, also felt numb and sowhat powerless against that resounding roar.
Such a level of power would probably be too much for an ordinary person to bear...
...Eh?
Lin Yiyi struggled against the dizziness, looking around.
But at so point, they seed to have left the small alley from before.
To their side were no longer the walls of buildings.
Instead, they found themselves in a crimson field—
This was a vast red adow. Each blade of grass seed to have absorbed the red sunlight, turning a pure and unadulterated red, a deep crimson.
"—The grass, an innate barrier?"
Si Dark Pupil blurted out.
