Chapter 1670: Chapter 1671: The True Form of the Exotic Beast

Hoo.

Within the formation temporarily crafted by Bai Qiu and Ao Tian, Su Chengyu exhaled a long breath of impure air.

Although his injuries had not completely healed, after half a day of effort, Su Chengyu had regained partial control over his mana.

Roughly 30% of his power had been restored—for now, dealing with an ordinary Martial Emperor was no longer an issue. At least he had secured a asure of self-defense.

“Master?”

Yu Yanshu, who had been standing watch nearby, spoke up, her tone filled with concern as she asked about Su Chengyu’s condition.

Su Chengyu smiled and shook his head, saying, “I’ve recovered quite a bit. It won’t be long before I’m fully healed.”

Perhaps due to the Blood Covenant, Luo Qing didn’t dare to inflict any fundantal harm on him.

Even while holding the absolute advantage, Luo Qing was extraordinarily precise in controlling his strikes. Although Su Chengyu had been left in a pitiful state, there were, in fact, no lasting repercussions.

“Is that Middle Grade Martial Emperor really so powerful?”

Bai Qiu, observing that Su Chengyu had awakened, asked about what had transpired earlier.

“Stronger than any ordinary High Grade Martial Emperor I’ve encountered—his power borders the Peak of the Hollow Void.”

Su Chengyu replied with certainty.

He hadn’t witnessed the entirety of Luo Qing’s strength, but he was certain that Luo Qing was on the sa level as Wan Qiu Daoist. Such an individual was not soone he could contend with head-on at his current state.

“He’s suppressing his breakthrough.”

Long Ao Tian interjected, drawing a curious glance from Su Chengyu.

Ao Tian glanced back before explaining, “Whether martial artists or cultivators, this is a common practice. The closer one approaches Heaven’s Gate, the more cautious they must be. Without the correct ntal state or an opportune mont, recklessly proceeding could doom one’s path to ascension forever. This guy likely has the strength required but doesn’t want to remain stuck at the peak forever, so he’s deliberately holding himself at the level of a Middle Grade Martial Emperor.”

“He hasn’t found the opportunity to ascend to Martial God, then.”

Su Chengyu imdiately understood Ao Tian’s thoughts and followed up.

Ao Tian nodded before turning away, continuing, “Which also ans, if he wanted to, he could step into Martial Emperor status at any mont, at the minor cost of gambling away his elusive future.”

Hearing this, Su Chengyu fell silent. While he did have injuries and a killing move he had yet to utilize, judging from Ao Tian’s analysis, it seed he truly stood no chance of defeating Luo Qing.

“In hindsight, perhaps we should’ve accompanied you when you went.”

Bai Qiu remarked from the side, but Su Chengyu shook his head once more.

“Had you co, victory or defeat aside, I would’ve had no escape route. When I noticed that the opponent bore no killing intent, I still would’ve had no choice but to fight them to the death. Even with all three of us against him, we might not have prevailed, and the risks would only have escalated. Furthermore… that was the Luo Clan’s territory—who’s to say Luo Qing was the only one there.”

Bai Qiu and Ao Tian had been secretly summoned by Su Chengyu via Divine Sense monts after he realized he was no match for Luo Qing.

Initially planning for them to provide reinforcents, Su Chengyu had changed his mind once he noticed Luo Qing rely intended to escort him out of the Luo Clan’s Blessed Realm. Instead, he had them standby nearby and waited until Luo Qing’s aura completely dissipated before bringing them in to save him from the two ordinary Martial Emperors.

“Perhaps, but I’m a Demon Emperor now. While it’s not guaranteed we’d win, I could’ve at least ensured your escape,” Bai Qiu said honestly, no longer hiding her true strength now that Ao Tian was aware of it.

Su Chengyu smiled faintly and retorted, “And how is that different from our current situation? Oh, wait, there is one difference—that being, you’d expose the fact that I have two capable allies by my side.”

Bai Qiu fell silent instantly, rendered speechless by the logic. Indeed, considering the circumstances, the current outco was already optimal.

Though the Luo Clan was now besieged on all sides, a skeletal cal was still larger than a horse. The Luo Clan Elder Council wasn’t sothing the three of them could antagonize.

Ao Tian, having recognized this as well, straightforwardly asked, “Su Chengyu, do you not have any other allies you can call for assistance?”

Su Chengyu’s expression shifted briefly before he replied coolly, “I do, but I don’t know when they’ll arrive—or if they’ll co at all.”

Qikefu had grievances with the Luo Clan because of Madam He. Su Chengyu had deliberately avoided bringing Madam He into the Luo Clan’s Blessed Realm to prevent that Martial God, a man strong enough to stand alone like a fortress, from mistakenly believing Su Chengyu intended to use her as leverage to coerce him into opposing the entire Luo Clan.

After all, Qikefu was a Martial God from a foreign nation. Entering another country without permission was already a grave offense; engaging in combat in that foreign land would escalate matters to the level of an international crisis.

Even though the target was the Luo Clan, whom the Xia Country was already eager to eliminate, Su Chengyu was certain of one thing:

If Qikefu intervened, the Xia Country would undoubtedly use the incident as a pretext to pressure Bei Luo in the future.

From Zhao Xuanzhen’s far-reaching sches, Su Chengyu had gleaned a faint understanding of the larger picture during this trip to the Luo Clan.

“So, what’s your next move?”

Bai Qiu asked. She had noticed Su Chengyu sending the female Martial Emperor to deliver a ssage to the Luo Clan.

Though she hadn’t listened in on the details, the amount of ti spent indicated he was planning sothing significant—he wasn’t about to give up so easily.

After all, the Su Chengyu she knew—the man of the past—wasn’t one to give up.

“Take it one step at a ti. By the way, take a look at this for ,” Su Chengyu said as he retrieved the Demon Pill Fragnts he had previously collected. Aside from the first fragnt, which he had handled with great precision and was relatively intact, the others had been acquired rather haphazardly. Nonetheless, Su Chengyu presented all he had.

After examining the fragnts, Bai Qiu and Ao Tian exchanged a glance, their expressions subtly shifting.

“Did you get a clear look at the forms of those beasts?”

“Yes,”

Su Chengyu succinctly described the physical appearances of the beasts he had encountered.

Hearing this, the two exchanged another glance, silently confirming their thoughts before continuing, “These three beasts were all tad Ancient Exotic Beasts. You rember the critical battle where the Human Clan rose to prominence?”

Su Chengyu nodded. “The decisive conflict that established the Human Clan as the rulers of this realm. That was when the Ancient Ferocious Beasts withdrew from history, with Empress Nuwa orchestrating the turning point.”

“Correct. During the Ancient Tis, even so Exotic Beasts foresaw their eventual downfall. Many chose to defect, and we were among the first to do so.”

The Four Great Divine Beasts had played a pivotal role in that battle, earning the title of Divine Beasts and becoming leaders within the Demon Clan.

These ancient tales, however, did not interest Su Chengyu much. He rely glanced at the Demon Pill Fragnts and asked, “And those three?”

“Chi i, Bu Huo, and Cang Nian—these three beasts are Ancient Variants. Though their bloodlines have undergone slight changes over ti, they are undoubtedly the descendants of the three clans from back then. Are they also in this Blessed Realm?” Bai Qiu asked, confusion evident in her tone. She couldn’t fathom why Su Chengyu would encounter such Ancient Exotic Beasts.

Su Chengyu blinked and answered, “They were sent by the Xiao Tribe.”
