"Well..." Nathan frowned. It wasn’t like they were in danger. However, if this continued, it might cause something that he didn’t want.

What he wanted was to create a symbiotic relationship with the locals. There were two reasons. First, he wanted to exchange information. Having trust between them would allow him to dig out more information than extracting one’s memory.

The second reason was power. Having an ally was good, but he wondered if he could incorporate their power as well. This was his original idea to defeat the black cell after all.

He wanted to bine as much power as possible to be a match against the enemy.

So, Nathan chose the option with a lower probability of turning them into an enemy.

Rather than fighting, he should suppress them.

Hence, Nathan asked, "Evelyn, suppress them with your power."

Evelyn nodded with a serious expression as she stepped forward. Seeing the sudden movement, the group of people panicked.

They immediately leaped forth, trying to suppress Evelyn.

Evelyn extended his hand forward before activating her two elements. He controlled the space around each individual before applying her gravity element.

In an instant, the people fell to the ground, unable to get back up.

They couldn’t move due to the powerful gravity. However, Evelyn carefully controlled her power so that it was enough to suppress them but not enough to injure them.

Nathan looked at the inhabitants, examining them.

"They indeed look like elves, but their skin is like this mist. Are they adapting to the mist? If they haven’t been taken down by the aliens, they may have been using the mist to disappear to confuse the aliens." Nathan was a bit surprised.

If his speculation were correct, a lot of opportunities opened up. First of all, he wondered if the humans in their world had adapted in a way so that they could utilize the environment to their advantage.

Because the world itself looked close to the Earth, he couldn’t imagine how to take advantage of that environment. But if someone from a different planet came to their world, they might notice the strange things and realize the way to take advantage of the environment.

Nevertheless, he needed to figure out the situation first and tried to persuade them.

"Selena, if you may." Nathan smiled.

"Sure." Selena waved her hand. Multiple blood spheres appeared, imprisoning them. They struggled to break free, but to no avail. Their power was still too insignificant pared to Selena’s.

Nathan then led the group to the rest of these people as Selena put all of them down, while Evelyn continued to suppress them.

All of them had been accounted for. They were glaring at Nathan as if they wanted to kill him. Nathan first bent his knees so that he could look at them at eye level.

"I’m Nathan Reckmoon. I’m not your enemy, because I e from another world." Nathan activated the sigil, wondering which language they spoke. He had millions of languages in his mind, but he definitely didn’t know which planet had which language.

"You..." One of them glared at him, responding to his words.

This time, he looked like a man. Then again, their genders were similar to humans. The way to identify it was similar too.

"As I said, I e from another world. I came across this world on my journey to fight..." Nathan turned around and snapped his finger, bringing the corpse of the alien from earlier. He put it down in front of them and continued, "...this creature."

"You are not one of them?"

"If you’re asking whether I’m their ally or subordinate, then I’m not." Nathan pointed down.

They looked confused. The guy who had been talking to him couldn’t help but say, "Who are you? How can you use our language while it doesn’t look like you’re pronouncing our language?"

"I don’t want to introduce myself anymore. I can speak your language due to a certain ability. But that’s enough about me. I’ve answered two of your questions, so why don’t you ask mine?"

The guy looked left and right. His people had been restrained, and Nathan indeed had answered him twice.

It was only fair for him to answer Nathan’s questions. Although he still had doubts, answering his question might lead to an opportunity to find out more about Nathan.

Besides, he wasn’t in the position to refuse. Nathan could have easily killed them, but the fact that he hadn’t meant he didn’t want to be enemies.

After thinking about it, the guy nodded.

"In that case, let me ask two questions first to equalize our exchange. Can you introduce yourself?"

"I am Hgahukutahum, Young Patriarch of the Deep Horizon Tribe."

Nathan thought for a moment before asking another question. "Do you think we can have a better discussion if I release you? As I mentioned before, I don’t plan to bee an enemy, as long as you are also not in the same league as this creature."

Hgahuku paused for a moment. He didn’t expect that Nathan would waste the second question on such an insignificant matter.

However, this also showed Nathan’s sincerity.

As a result, Hgahuku nodded. "In that case, release us."

Nathan snapped his fingers, dispelling Selena and Evelyn’s powers.

The moment they were free, Hgahuku’s people tried to stand up as though they were going to fight again, but Hgahuku shouted, "Stand down!"

His order caused them to halt their movement.

It looked like Hgahuku was intelligent enough to know that civilized conversation would lead to a better result. If they provoked Nathan, they might die on the spot.

Therefore, Hgahuku said, "Your power is magnificent, but I’m more impressed with your magnanimity. If you wish to have a conversation, I’m willing to be your partner. Still, I prefer the fair exchange. We will ask one question each."

"Sure. However, since I’m in the more advantageous position, I will ask the first question." Nathan didn’t give him the initiative because he needed to let them know that he still had his pride and power.

If he was too passive, Hgahuku might think Nathan was a pushover or even suspicious about his intentions.

Hgahuku hesitated for a second before nodding his head.

Nathan smiled and asked the first question. "What..."
