My response drew a laugh from the prince as he looked at with sparkling gray eyes. I could tell that Desmond was very glad to see because I could feel the life returning to his beautiful gray eyes. To my surprise, it wasn’t at all difficult to reunite with the prince and talk to him again.
“I guess it’s good enough for that you did actually turn up,” the prince said before grinning my way.
The way he looked so thankful for my appearance made feel slightly guilty inside.
“My sister told that I shouldn’t throw you under the bus so publicly, and I had to agree with her,” I replied before I found myself smiling quite naturally.
“I guess I have your sister to thank for this,” the prince replied.
There were many things that I wanted to ask the prince, but there was one burning question that felt like it could no longer wait until later.
“My father’s corruption case and its relation to my family businesses, were you the one who stepped in to help us out?” I asked directly.
The prince looked at with slightly bewildered eyes before the corners of his lips lifted into a smile that confird my suspicion. Since I couldn’t think of anyone else who could have intervened the way that he had done, I wasn’t exactly surprised when the prince admitted to helping my family and .
“Why did you do it? I didn’t ask you to help out,” I demanded to know.
“Because I wanted to,” the prince replied in short.
“What?” I asked without hiding my surprise at his simple reasoning.
“You didn’t have to ask to, I would have done it anyway because I wanted to save you. To be honest, I don’t even care about your family, I just didn’t like seeing you in a difficult position,” the prince replied casually.
His response stunned into silence as I struggled to believe that there was soone who was willing to help to that extent.
“Thank you, I guess...” I mumbled softly.
“You don’t have to thank , it’s good enough that you’re here and that I get to see you and talk to you again,” the prince replied with a polite smile.
“Next ti, can you not offer help without consulting beforehand? Honestly, I wondered how my parents would react if they really had to go to court and get convicted and punished for fraud. You may or may not know this, but I’m not a big fan of my parents. I would have liked to see them get what they deserved,” I said before showing him a smile as I thought of the look of misery on my parents’ face.
“I’ll keep that in mind that you’re quite an interesting character. As for making sure that your parents get what they deserve, that’s going to have to wait until you are no longer connected with them,” the prince replied before reaching out from my hand again.
I glanced down to see his hand holding mine before he tugged gently on it.
“The event is about to start soon, let’s enjoy this. Also don’t worry, I think Dahlia is a very befitting na for this school,” the prince said before winking at .
Although I found it hard to believe at first, I found myself laughing carefully along with the prince.
“Wait!” I called out to the prince.
Desmond stopped walking and turned around to face to see what I had to say.
“Please don’t kiss in front of everyone again,” I warned before squinting my eyes at him.
“Don’t worry, if I kiss you again I’ll do it in private,” the prince replied smoothly.
Probably because of the announcent that Desmond made beforehand, there were even more reporters at the event than normal. I couldn’t care less about them as my attention focused on Desmond.
“You’re not seriously going to na this school ‘Dahlia’ are you?” I asked with a worried look on my face.
“Do I look like soone who would go back on my words to you?” he asked as he cocked his head slightly to the side challengingly.
It felt like my words would only urge him on rather than stop him from doing sothing crazy.
“My sister and I both agree that Dahlia is a horrible na for a school,” I told him honestly.
“Really? I think it’s a beautiful na,” Desmond said with a surprise look on his face as if he truly thought that my na was well suited for the school.
Does he really think that Dahlia would be a good na for a school?
Desmond looked truly hurt and I began thinking that it was funny.
“If your na alone doesn’t work, what about the combination of our nas together?” The prince asked with a serious and thoughtful look on his face as if he was surely considering it as an option.
“I don’t think...” I began to refute his idea but the way that the prince’s face lit up made pause.
“What about the school of Dahlia and Desmond?” the prince suggested as if it was the best idea ever.
“I’ll just stick with Dahlia if that were the case, thank you...” I replied a little sarcastically.
“Dahlia, it is,” he replied with extre satisfaction before grinning my way.
I silently apologized to all the prospective students who would attend this school called Dahlia in the very near future while Diana’s amused face popped into my mind.
“The event is about to start, follow ,” the prince inford as he offered his arm. After staring at him for a few seconds, I slipped my arm into his and let him lead the way.
Despite the prince ntioning that he wasn’t sure if I was going to turn up, a large sign bearing my na was prepared well in advance. It seed that Desmond was determined to na this school after no matter what. We stood side by side next to the large sign as countless reporters and photographers surrounded us. Bright flashes from the caras bathed us in sparkling lights with seemingly no end in sight as we stood next to each other posing close to the large sign bearing the na of the school. After that the sign was lifted up and installed in front of the school building.
“Doesn’t it just look nice?” Desmond whispered from close to .
I stared up at the sign bearing my na in a large capitalized font with very mixed feelings. Apart from the fact that the sign looked beautiful and well-made, I didn’t appreciate any other aspect of it.
