This all happened because I failed to control the situation and the things that I said to Bill must have angered him. I recalled the way that Bill looked at and the feeling of his tight grip on my wrist. Thankfully, Anthony showed up when he did and saved because I wasn’t quite sure how I would have handled Bill otherwise.
I hated how helpless I felt and how that weakness of mine led to Anthony’s injury.
“You don’t have to do this...” he said softly but he did not attempt to pull his hand away from mine again.
“I want to do this,” I said before glancing up from his hand and smiling at him.
It felt like the least that I could do apart from thanking him repeatedly. I could feel Anthony’s eyes on as I cleansed his wounds and applied dicine on them before sticking bandages on them.
“I think that’s a bit much...” he said as he looked at the result of my handiwork.
The bandages did make the condition of his hand look much worse than it actually was, but I thought that it was best to keep his wounds covered to prevent germs from entering.
“Maybe you should get a doctor to take a proper look at it. Should we go to the hospital?” I inquired.
“I’m fine, Diana. Stop worrying and stop overreacting. No one would go to the hospital for sothing like this,” he pointed out.
“I guess you’re right...” I agreed softly.
I knew that what he said made sense, but I couldn’t stop myself from worrying and conjuring up all the things that might be wrong with his hand. Although his injuries did not look bad, that didn’t an that it wasn’t hurting.
“Plus, we’re supposed to go on a date together today,” Anthony said while sounding a little excited.
A date?
For a mont, I didn’t know how to react to what he had just said. Diana clearly did not ntion that she was supposed to go on a date with Anthony today. She just ntioned that he would be visiting and that they would be eting.
What is this about a date and what exactly are we supposed to do together?
“Diana, are you ok?” Anthony asked as he brought his face closer to mine.
“I...I’m fine...” I replied while stuttering as I instinctively backed away.
His sudden closeness startled and so did the alluring beauty of his blue eyes. Anthony had a very worried look on his face as he continued observing my face.
“You were spacing out a little. Are you still scared because of what happened?” he asked, and I could feel his concern for .
“No. I an, I was a little scared but it’s all fine now. You ca to save so...” I replied before braving a smile that I hoped would help cover up how nervous he was making feel.
“Then, shall we head out for our date?” Anthony said invitingly.
I blinked a couple of tis as I watched Anthony stand up from his seat before extending his hand.
...
Anthony led toward where his driver was waiting for us along with his car in front of the school building. I felt my heart sink a little when I realized that we would no longer have the chance to spend ti together alone. Since Anthony hardly ca out alone without a bodyguard, I was surprised at first when he appeared alone to see .
“Where are you going to take ?” I asked curiously.
“Well, according to the plan, we’re going to this fancy restaurant that has been booked for us in advance. It’s supposed to be romantic,” he replied as he seed to recall the details that he had been told.
“Oh...” I murmured and I could hear the disappointnt in my voice.
It wasn’t intentional at all, but I couldn’t stop myself in ti from expressing my disappointnt. I was starting to understand a little why Diana had referred to this as a eting rather than a date. It beca clear that this date was prearranged and planned out for us by soone from Anthony’s family and all we had to do was follow the plan.
Anthony probably did not have a say in this at all and he was just following orders from his parents. I felt my lower lip quiver slightly and had to press my lips into a thin line when it occurred to that there was a possibility that Anthony might not even want to be here. I was sure that he was fond of Diana to a certain degree, but it would truly be a disaster if he were to find out that I was the one taking my sister’s place.
“You don’t look so excited. Shall we go sowhere else?” he suggested unexpectedly.
“...Huh?” I made a sound of disbelief.
Why is he suggesting this all of a sudden?
“Do you have a place in mind that you want to go to, Diana?” Anthony asked before showing a smile that I felt could lt my heart.
“I...umm...are you sure that we can do this?” I asked as my mind struggled to operate under the influence of his charming smile.
“Well, it is our date so I think we should just do what we want,” Anthony replied before showing another disarming smile.
My heart skipped a beat in my chest, and I wondered how Diana could get used to seeing him smile this way when they were together. I didn’t care where we went as long as I could spend ti with Anthony. Being with him made feel safe and secure, but at the sa ti it also made feel oddly excited. Since I could count the number of people that truly cared for on the fingers of one hand, it felt extra nice to see Anthony expressing care for even if the care was really ant for my sister.
I thought that it didn’t matter as long as I was the one that was by his side at the ti.
