“Why are you here?” Bill growled with a scowl on his face.

“I have date with my fiancée today,” Anthony replied smoothly before turning to offer a charming smile.

Oh, that’s right. I’m supposed to et with Anthony today...

Wait, but didn’t Diana ntion that it wasn’t supposed to be a date?

I was too captivated by Anthony’s attractive smile at first to rember that we still had a problem on our hands. By the ti that I ca back to my senses, Bill had already closed the distance between himself and Anthony.

“Watch out, Anthony!” I yelled out.

It was too late because Bill had already grabbed onto Anthony’s shoulder to turn him around. I was so shocked that violence was about to break out. Anthony is a kindhearted guy who would never resort to violence, and I imdiately got scared for him and his safety. Everything moved so fast that at first, I wasn’t sure what exactly had happened. The next thing I knew, there was a cracking sound followed by a thumping sound and then Bill was sprawled out on the ground. I gasped in shock as I watched Bill groaning in pain as he covered his face with his hands.

“Anthony! Are you ok?” I cried out as I approached Anthony.

I didn’t care at all about what had befallen Bill or how he ended up on the ground as long as Antony was fine and unhurt. Instead of turning to face , Anthony lifted up a hand to stop from approaching.

“Stay back and close your eyes,” he instructed calmly.

His tone sounded cold to the point that it almost felt emotionless. For a mont, it didn’t feel like he was the Anthony that I knew. Then again, I couldn’t quite phantom the fact that he had just avoided Bill’s punch before landing one of his own. It occurred to that perhaps self-defense and martial arts ca as part of the standard training for a Vulkan family mber. That must have been it because I couldn’t think of another reason to explain his apparent skills.

Although he had instructed to close my eyes, I gladly kept them open to watch what Anthony would do next to the guy who decided to cross the line and ss with his fiancée. I didn’t want Anthony to hurt anyone, and I didn’t want anyone to get hurt, but at the sa ti, this new side of Anthony that I had just discovered excited beyond asure.

“What are you doing?” Bill yelled as he put up his hands to shield himself from Anthony.

Whatever fight that he had in him before was now all gone. I wasn’t sure what was the reason for that because he seed ready to pick a fight with Anthony not so long ago. Anthony pulled on Bill’s collar and dragged him back up onto his feet. I had never seen Anthony look that angry or frightening before and it made my heart race wildly in my chest. Anthony said sothing to Bill that I couldn’t quite make out. Whatever he said must have been threatening enough to make all the color drain out of Bill’s face.

He looked scared out of his mind as Anthony seed to overpower him. I knew that I should step in and stop Anthony from any more acts of violence, but I was too caught up in the mont to do anything right. To be frank, I was so impressed by Anthony’s heroic act to even stop and consider whether what he was doing was right or wrong. Then again, how could Anthony possibly be in the wrong?

Bill let out a painful cry when Anthony punched him again in the face. For a mont, it felt like he had completely lost it as he continued landing blow after blow on Bill’s face as he held Bill in place to prevent him from falling down again onto the ground. There was so much blood on Bill’s face and that was when I started to feel scared of what may happen.

“Anthony...” I called his na softly.

His fist stopped midair so I figured that he must have heard calling his na. Anthony’s body stilled for a brief mont before he slowly lowered his fist. Suddenly, Anthony released his grip on Bill’s shirt. Bill slithered down onto the ground like his legs or maybe his entire body had beco useless. I couldn’t tell how serious his injuries were but that wasn’t at all my concern at that mont.

“Anthony, are you ok?” I asked as I rushed to his side.

“Diana...” he mumbled as he turned to face .

At first, it seed like he was lost in a daze and then his eyes focused on my face. Our eyes t and he smiled at as if nothing had happened.

“Are you ok?” I asked as I gently took his injured hand in mine.

I didn’t know what I was doing but his hand was already in mine, and I was staring at it as I inspected it for injuries.

“Don’t worry about . Let’s get you out of here first,” he said as he gently held my elbow and urged to follow him.

In the end, it was Anthony who took my hand and quickly led out of the garden and into the school building.

...

“You don’t have to do this. I can handle it,” he said as he tried to pull his hand out from mine.

After escaping the scene, I led Anthony straight to the infirmary to fix up the wounds on the back of his hand. Honestly, they was nothing more than a few grazes on his knuckles where they ca in contact with Bill’s face when he landed his punches but seeing his bloodied knuckles made my heartache so painfully in my chest.

“Please let help you with this because I couldn’t help you with anything else...” I said before offering him a smile.

This is all because of ...
